Tatts for WC

Player Questions Started Last reply 21 posts
Hey all

Need some advice for Tatts for when my WC hits 40.

I think +4 WIT -4 MEN is a given

also think +4 DEX -4 CON

any thoughts?
What's your intention with the +DEX?

I've personally chosen not to do touch my physical stats, because I think they're pretty balanced. But I'd go +STR if anything. Or +CON for pvp.

increase attack speed/accuracy/critical better evasion and faster movement..
Okay, was just wondering what in particular...... ...
-Con is allways a bad choice for a mage, even an orc one. Remember that even on pvp WC is more a mage (if you still have mp after the buffs) than a malee fighter. In pve it will not make much of a difference but in pvp this will probably only make you die faster.
having looked at Con stats on all races I think I'll conceed that I should leave his CON alone. Thanks for input ;)
I went -10 con on my WC on her early days, didn't have much of a prob^^

hmm was that +Dex +STR and were you using Health SA weapon?
I used +5 str +4 dex +4 wit, FP then bw light/robe then tallum heavy.

+8 bezerker blade w/ focus until my high 60's
Tatoos should be chosen in combination with armor and weapons. If you use a blunt for example, there is no meaning in going +DEX. On the other hand, if you are using a dagger, +DEX is a must. Personaly, I went +3 DEX/-3 STR and +4WIT/-4MEN. FP/divine and a 2h sword from C to early B grade and then switched to dagger/BW light (early A-grade). I went up to +3 DEX because my focus was on accuracy (+4DEX doesn't add more than +3). -3 STR never caused me problems. I guess the same goes if I went -3 CON. Not much of a decrease in either stat.
:p If you use an unfocused blunt, there's not much of a point in going +STR either, since you will likely be in a large group, and therefore not doing significant damage with a dull weapon.

If you use a blunt for example, there is no meaning in going +DEX.

surely its worth it for the following " Increases attack speed, physical skill speed, accuracy, evasion, critical hit probability, shield defense success rate, and movement speed."

Especailly for an orc
Accuracy is not needed with a blunt (you will hit almost all the time anyway), evasion is out of the question for mystic classes, critical chance is out of the question for blunts, attack speed is irrelevant if you can't do significant damage anyway, impact on shield block rate is low where dex tats are concerned, physical skill speed might be nice, but once again, the impact is minimal.

Movement speed is nice to have, but ... regardless, it is not enough to sacrifice CON for. -STR/+DEX might make sense if you use a blunt, but I'd hope it would be a blunt just for the Health SA or acumen in that case.

As a general rule, ALL that on a +4 dex tatoo adds around 5% to total damage over time. It BARELY moves evasion, run speed, and shield defense.
A similar +4 str tatoo will increase DOT by about 15%. Thus, under most circumstances, going +str - dex is more reliably damaging than -str + dex.

It will depend on what mobs you generally hunt, what weapon/buffs you generally have, what armor set you chose, etc. However, even as a tank with relatively low dex/patk, and +str being a % boost to patk, the damage difference from +4 str - 5 dex is abbsurdly noticable.

I have a problem with the following statements:
"Accuracy is not needed with a blunt (you will hit almost all the time anyway)" - not the case, I can miss 3 times in a row quite often, therefore why I'm looking at increasing accuracy.

"critical chance is out of the question for blunts" I can crit quite well with my bonebreaker and it usually triples my damage. More frequent crits would be even nicer!

"attack speed is irrelevant if you can't do significant damage anyway......" can't see this is logical, I can melee solo nicely with my Orc - therefore quicker attacks = higher DPS.
i done the dex thing and trust me its not worth it

yup and with +dex you will still more often then not miss 3 times in a row

i have a focus blunt so it might be cheating but i didnt see any noticable difference in crit rate or crit damage with +dex

attack speed difference is barely noticble but hey if you can spare the con go crazy
I'm not a Wc. But I'm a buffer and I have +4 Str/-4 Con, +4 Dex/-4 Con, +4 Wit/-4 Men. I use Tallum heavy and +4 kesh*kesh duals. My HP is not a problem, I have 4700 self buffed, about 1k patk, 1k+ pdef, 600~ cast speed (more if I equip acu homu), I don't miss much at all (Pagans), etc.

This is a great setup if you want to play in small parties where your damage actually counts =)

I reccomend it until you're at a lvl you'd lke, then you can change to PvP setup.
If you are missing, you are hunting the wrong mobs.

No, you don't have a significant crit rate with your bone breaker - you just notice the crits more because they are so rare. The same goes for having +DEX: There is a shift, but it is not significant.

And if you can solo with the blunt - great for you, but think of how much better you could solo with a bladed weapon. But to each their own.

Focused blunts (which, by the way, diminish the relative effect of a +DEX tattoo, don't improve it) are the only exception to the rule of sucky blunt DPSness.
I'm with Maline on this one. In C grade, I compared a Yaksa and duals on the blunt-weak skeletons in DV; it wasn't even close. The duals killed way quicker than the Yaksa. At higher levels, I switched to a dagger, as they make a little better use of the buffs. But either one is way better than a blunt. (That said, a blunt can be fun for some players, especially with the good stun rate of a WC. Just don't misunderstand that the damage rate is way less than other weapons.)
I would only +DEX if you use or plan to use a dagger. if not, there is no point doing it. maybe +str if you plan to solo a lot, but as a WC I hope you play in groups, cuz thats what they are meant to do :/ you will grind a lot faster partying with a DD or a BD/SWS.

and accuracy with blunts are GOOD! blunts give what, +4 or is it even +6 accuracy? not sure...anyway, my friend is a WC, same lvl as me, 70+. Im a TH with +dex, and even when I use ultimate evasion he lands his swings easy on me (with a blunt).
In PvP damage done with a blunt is easily outpotted (although yes, you can hit people, and for slow arena fights a higher accuracy weapon might be nice). In B grade robes with no songs, I have little trouble 'tanking' someone who tries to hurt me, it's funny at best.

In PvE, every extra crit generally makes up not for one but two extra misses - so you'd have to be missing a WHOLE lot to make a sword worthwhile, never mind a blunt (which crits like... never).

I have blunt critical rate on my servitor, and his crits are very visible. The difference between myself and the servitor is that I expect to crit three to six times a mob, and the servitor expects to crits once every three to six mobs.
