I've already leveled up a couple of times. But i still haven't been able to spend any of my sp points. My skills are all level 1. But my character is lvl 5. I just started playing the game today, so forgive me, if this has already come up on the boards. I could really use the help!!!
What class are you? Melee is first able to buy skills at L5 and mages at L7. IIRC. Depending on what class you are, you need to find your correct 'skill trainer' in your starter town. For example: Human Mystics would talk to a 'magister' and melee would talk to a 'master'. Same goes for all the other races with some minor title changes. (Except dwarves, those have to talk to the Warehouse people and blacksmiths.) Just talk to each NPC in your starter town and find the ones with "Learn Skills", then its just a matter of finding the one you need. (The rest will say they cannot help you, like a melee talking to a mage trainer for example.)
Just know that spells (Mostly mages, but a few melee get one or two) need a 'spellbook' to 'learn' the skills. This will be shown in the skill list when you try to learn it. Just buy the book and have it in your inventory when you go to learn the skill and it will be used (consumed) when you learn the skill.
So it's not done automaticly. Your saying that i need to find an npc. i'm a dark elf, mystic. so i would go to a magister, to upgrade my skills? i have a wind blow magic spell, it's at lvl 1. do i still have to go to a magister to upgrade it. or can i do it my self?
All skills have to be increased at an NPC that suits your race and class. You do this throughout your rise up to 75+ !
At a low level, sp is hard to come by, so its wise to use what you have wisely. Weapon enhancement skills are paramount. Windstrike is your primary skill at your level so use sp on this.
Skills are made available at various levels and not every level. You might not be able to raise all your levels at once but have to go back when you gain more sp.
Once you get to level 8, make sure you visit the newbie guide npc (one inside the village and one at entrance). This will give you some good buffs (enhancements) that last an hour.
Some skills (like buffs) will require you to have a spellbook to learn. There is a spellbook seller nearby in the trainer's room, and you can also buy them in the grocery store.
When you get to a higher level, 40 I believe, you will no longer be able to buy the spellbooks from NPCs. You will have to hunt the mobs which drop them (some faster than others) or pay other players for them.
I suggest finding out ahead of time which mobs drop the ones you need then hunting the mobs so you will have the spellbook, free, when you need it.
Wow.. thanks alot for the replies everyone! And thank you for giving me, a warm welcome. If i can be of a assistance to any of you in the future, I'll be more than willing to lend a hand or sword.. Thanks again...
