Ok, i've heard some talk about a market. and i'd love to get into it. I mean who wouldn't want extra Adena. Also i heard something about, one guy making a million Adena fishing! In one night. I'm new to L2, and i would love to make some extra Adena. The only question is How???
1st: where is the market, and how does it work?
2nd: i thought fishing was just for dwarf's?
If anyone has any insight on this. Please for the love of the Gods, let me in on it..
the market isnt a place its a state of mind
ppl sell stuff and you do what you can to buy it cheap enough that you can sell it to someone else for a profit, the actual physical market exists in giran and its just a few hundred ppl sitting down and selling stuff
you cant really play the market until you have something to play with
fishing apparently makes cash
ive never tried it except to expand my inventory but i hear its a good option for new players
manor system is my bread and butter
if it didnt exist i would have quit the game at C grade
WOW, slow down, back up. there's no market! it's just a bunch of people sitting around, like a swop meet. ****.
Ok, what's the manor system, and how does it work?
Yes, people sitting around is the market. When they say "play the market" they are saying for you to buy stuff cheap and sell for a high price.
Anyway, fishing is a good option to make money too. But it can be expensive for someone starting out because the fishing rod, baits and fishing skills.
Still it is something you might try when you have more money.
It is a bit old and doesn't say anything about night fishing or that after sometime of fishing on the same spot the fishes disappear. But for everything else it is ok.
Basically you trade the stuff you fish for Proofs of Catching Fish (POCF) on the Fishing Guild NPC. Then you go to Giran and make a shop to sell it to other players. Just don't trade the fishing gems for POCF. Instead sell those to players too.
At least the quest for fishing shots you can start early. Just talk to the Fishing Guild guy. I think you can find him on the grocery store.
Oh i havent understand exactly what's the manor system its too much and my english isnt so good to understand all of them. there are some words that i dont understand...
Thanks for the info. I'll start out, right away! Nameless1! your vary insightful. Thank you for your time. I have a few more questions, here they are.
1: Can i increase my carrying weight, like in other rpg games?
2:What is a tax rate. when i talk to some of the npc's, there's usually a topic, on the tax rate, and it says 15%. What the heck is it?
1. nope not really
con effects carry capacity but odds are you dont want to + your con, dwarves get an increase of up to 4x carry capacity and so do archers, not sure on the increase amount (only h.e?)
2.well L2 has castles
if you own a castle you can set a tax rate
two seperate tax rates exist. a global tax rate set by aden castle which effects all towns and a town tax set by the individual castle that owns that region
so for example if aden tax is set to 5% and giran tax is set to 10% then those tax rates will apply to anything you buy in giran
i believe those rates are compounded (is that the right word?) so the 5% tax is applied and then the 10% tax is added
the extra cash you pay via tax is given to the castle owners
there is however something abit tricky related to tax rates
each region has a seperate base tax rate which governs the base price of items even before tax rate is applied
for example if the tax rate in giran is 10% and the tax rate in oren is 7% giran will still be cheaper because it has a lower base tax rate
i dont know the exact numbers on this but for ppl who spend alot of cash on shop bought only items (soul/spirit ore, healing pots, soes) it is a good idea to stay current with which town is the cheapest
mobs stay at a fixed lvl and there are also xp penalties applied to hunting mobs whose lvl is lower than yours
the exact numbers escape me but its something like when a mob is plus or minus 3 lvls of you their name is white
if it is 6 lvls lower it is green
at 9 lvls lower it is blue and you start suffering an xp penalty and a drop penalty
a higher lvl mob is pink and a much higher lvl mob is red
up to you to decide if it is worth hunting mobs higher or lower lvl
as a general rule you try and hunt green mobs since those guys usually give the best xp/adena per effort (not really true for nukers)
thanks..
does anyone know what Echo crystals are? And what are they for?
I've collected a few, and i have no idea what their for.
Also, when you die, do you drop anything, or loose anything?
1) i believe carry weight can be increased through the fishing guys in the grocery store
2) its the tax rate on a region set by the lord of the region , dont exactly know how it affects gameplay i guess it inflates prices in shops and the % goes to the castle?
Echo crystals do nothing more than play music when you click them. Oh, yes, they also clog up newbie players' warehouses.
You don't drop items when you die but you do lose a % of you level. This varies from about 7% as a lowbie and decreases as your level increases. Some players can resurect you and regain some of that lost %.
You sometimes get a death penalty of a weapon/power restriction. A grade dependant item can be bought from the shop to remove this.
