idk but the website changed its motives for online radio because of a costly new law or bill going to be passed that would make mmoradio, if the kept their radio stations up, loose lots of money, roughly $500,000 to $1,500,000+ a year in just playing songs. An example, this law or bill says, for every listener that listens to the online radio DJ's song it would cost the station $0.01 to $0.05 about, per listener. So if 1500 listeners are hearing that song at a cost of $0.05 the station would have to pay $75.oo a song.
$75.oo if it's 1 min long song or a 12 min long song. Doesn't matter. Now just saying every song they play is 5 min long. For a day of radio it would cost them, $21,600.oo. And a year of playing it would cost .... a holy mother of ... $7,884,000.oo.
*currency is US dollars.
So a lot of online radios are shutting down now. =(
Yes, the moneygrubbers passed a law making each song being streamed cost a bit more per connection... That bit more that makes it way too expensive for average people to run a stream anymore. Without massive ads, that is, and we all love ads when listening to music, don't we? o.o;;
A lot of stream radios will go down because of this, was actually thinking about L2 Radio when I read about that bill. =/
Tech4.tv is TMSB's new project. It will still relate to gaming, but I have no idea on the details, so you will need to keep your eyes out come this summer.
so let me get this straight. L2 radio stopped cuz of money issues? thats pretty sad, i actually liked most of the stuff they played, and many times had it going in the background while grinding. i guess all good things come to an end sooner or later.
I cant understand why NC Soft didnt mention why they close L2 Radio :( It would be nice to know why, is that reason mentioned about money or just its unpopular !?

It's because of the new royalty rates... As i'm sure they don't have millions.
DM, if that was your cryptic way of saying good riddance, piss off.
If it wasnt, disregard.
For some of us the DJs and listeners of ALL of their stations were close friends and practically family in some cases. Many of us are heartbroken to see it go. It was a very sad night for many.
