I've made a palus knight but I'not sure about what class to take. I surely like more the playstyle and the weapon of a BD but these ****ed dances last only 3min. If they lasted longer they would be better. An SK is a good tank and I think is the best damager between DA,Paladin,Tk and SK cuz he have skills like freezing strike,hex,life drain,life leech,lighting strike and more. So? what do u say?
Go BD. Its 2 mins on dances but once you're used to it its no problem. BD's can solo forever and unless you have a clan that can xp with you all the time playing an SK will be like pulling out your own teeth. I just made a lot of SK's mad but... All the tanks have good abilities, but DA's panther is pretty tough.
Look at the BD self buffs and dances, the damage output is pretty sick with self buffs only, and better with real buffs. But having fun with your playstyle is whats important. Both classes are really support classes, but the BD has the added benefit that they can PVE like champs.
Personally I got tired of my SR and lvled a BD from lvl 1 - 61 in about 3 weeks so they are uber at PVE and with a buffer with VR 2+ and haste 2 with SS spamming - you are rockin'. The damage you can do with your duals + your songs + outside buffs makes the BD the best at PVE.
When you get into higher lvls someone is always shouting out for a BD to join party cuz they benifit nukers, tanks, healers, and archers by increasing the amount of killing (speed and damage) you can do in a 20 min buff period therefor more XP is gained. ONE peeve I have about being a BD was the dances every 2 minutes, yeah you get used to doing it but GOD FORBID YOU DON'T DANCE EXACTLY EVERY 2 MINUTES!! lol
If you looking to PVP forget BD, all you do is support your clannies and party members with dances but at lvl 61 + if you DO get ahold of someone and have dual keshes +4 with tallum heavy and your dances and haste 2 - your attack speed is insane and you look like your spazzing when you attack and do some sweet *** damage... =) but like I said "IF" you catch someone.. lol
Anyways, I loved my BD but I went back to my SR cuz they are uber fun for PVP and whatnot. Good luck with your secision, unfortunately I do not have any info on SK but I thought i would share my info on the BD class.
SK is much harder to level, but much more rewarding to have. Everyone and their mother has a BD. You do better than a BD in pvp, and arguably can solo better in pve. Not to say BD is bad in anyway, but their main purpose is to buff other people. In a siege you are no different than a Prophet with a pair of duals. 1v1 BD's can hold their own against a few classes. In interlude SK can either avoid or do pretty well against any class in any situation.
well basically, BD's are very monoton(sp?) to play very regular with not much else to do than dance every 2 mins and spam shots while SK's are very versatile and allround purpose loaded with physical skills cubics and nukes, and imo The most versatile tank there is, panther or no panther
BD if your're a social butterfly and wanna also have a btter dmg output (still not much). For SK you will solo for the must of the time and sometimes tank at raids BUT as sk you will be something to be more feared at pvp then as bd, as bd your hole in a party will be dancing all the time.
dancing becomes second nature to you once u start playing bd. yeah saying u have to dance every 2 mins sounds down right awful but you dont even think about it when u xp/pvp.
imo bd is 10x better for pve/pvp. some people might say im saying this cus im a bd >.>
hehe ok but to back that up... dances is beneficial to ALL classes in-game. thats righ all. mages, melee, ranged. you name it you can help. damage output is much greater wether your soloing or in a full pvp archer/mage party which im pretty sure most of us has felt what that feels like. ask around ^^
and so what if theres a ton of bds already running around. theres a reason behind it... they r good. people say sk's r better because they are a unique type of tank. a good mix between magic and melee/defense but as you can see being Unique (http://img451.imageshack.us/img451/3553/uniquezx4.jpg) isnt always best in this VERY competetive world of L2.
