Sin Eater is nothiong to do with the death penalty. Sin Eater removes PK count from your toon, death penalty lowers your stats after you die. As said previously, by a recovery scroll that is the same grade as your toons mastery level (D, C, B, A etc.)

You can also go to the black judge and pay to have it removed. Easier to just buy a recovery scroll.

Yup, scrolls or black judge. As for how long it lasts - forever, until you remove it. And if you die again, you may get an additional death penalty (they stack, i.e. the penalty gets worse).

Yup. So if you have Death Penalty level 2 you need 2 recovery scrolls. If you have level 3 then it is 3 recovery scrolls and so on.
