I'm looking for advices on what should i use on my warlock on the C, B and A grades. This includes what weapon is the best for it. Please i'm the pvp type of guy, but as everyone i will be lvling. I know that with kai and queen i'm not much dependant on a set, but for pvp i will be. So, tell me what should i use on those grades?
I think blue wolf light for armor is the best for b,a and maybe S. DEcent casting speed and better p.def than a grade robes.
For c grade i think karmian, you are still partly nuker till 45 and the light masteries are not enough yet for decent casting or mp.
For weapon i would suggest to go for mage weapon with acumen instead duals or other meele weapons. You need the casting speed for healing the summon fast and the m.attack for betray or other debuffs summoner have.
I do not have summoner so i might be wrong but that's my opinion when i was researching if i wanted to have summoner.
I like the plated leather + dark screamer w/ focus setup for C grade. At 44 with +4str-4con I can out damage Kai (I cannot carry anything though). For 40 to 44/45 it isn't the best but even meleeing those levels go by fast.
Of course I have a 6x SE following me around so my summon doesn't need quick healing very often. ;)
40-5x you are still a nuker, mysterious sword/acumen and Demon robes. Mysterious sword is an x2 low-C weapon with acumen... cheap as all getout, and works great. If you can find a cheap overenchanted version, you are all set.
Somewhere around 54-56 your nukes will start failing too often to be consistent, so you move to B grade melee gear.
BW Light and a Hell Knife with Magic Mental Shield.
(and a shield... doom works, but just find one)
(sleeping while your pet dies or having you pet sleeping while you die sucks)
Keep the Hell Knife for later as a buff for PvP.
Use the mysterious sword when speed is an issue
61+ Dark Crystal Robes and Shield + 1H HP weapon. (note this doesn't have to be A grade) Try to keep your HP weapon and acumen weapon the same grade. Remember, if you have to land an offensive spell and you don't have an a-grade mage weapon, the Hell knife has decent Matk (but no acumen) if you bring a small supply of B-Bsps.
Why DC robes? Because the Pdef difference isn't really that much and because casting faster and running faster > 60-70pdef.
Why a shield? because every point you mitigate is time your pet has to dig in... your melee is inconsequential at 61+ and shields are being buffed to stop magic as well as melee/arrows.
Note if you follow this guide your subclassing to a nuker of any kind is an easy progression too.
I'd skip getting Blue Wolf light -- get the Robe set instead (or Avadon). Casting speed is generally better than then little extra P.def; 'specially when you're likely to be the last one targetted in (mass) PvP.
Mind you, I'm still running around in an Elven Mithril set. Plus run speed and a little more wit without any regen decrease! Truly hard to beat. :p
I freak people out when I start tanking in that, too. Yet regardless. Stick with robes (and an acumen weapon). Battle heal is strong.
