Hi all, I've just joined Lineage 2 and intend to start playing in about 3 weeks time (when I finish this year of university). Was just wondering if anyone could help me with deciding on a race and class to go with.
As for race, I intend to go either Human, Elf or Dark Elf. Orcs and Dwarves are too ugly for my liking :p
As for class, I'm thinking either a mage type class or hunter/archer type class. My main area of interest in all MMORPG's is PVP. Thats not to say I don't do raiding, I do a hell of a lot of that too, but being good at PVP is more important to me than being good at raiding and PVE. Hunter (archer) has always done well for me in other MMORPG's in PVP, and that is my most likely choice. Is the hunter/archer good in PVP in Lineage 2? In particular, I'd like to participate and be useful in siege battles.
Finally, is there any end-game difference in choosing a particular race? or are they all pretty much balanced? Also, does anyone have any suggestions as to what race to choose? are there any differences really?

Choose either human Necromancer or any race archer to pwn in pvp.
End-game difference in pvp is buffs. And also offense >>> defense, so archers and necros pwn all ;)
Also orcs are not ugly, and you'll find dwarves to be VERY useful when you'll think of making an alt!
only women are allowed to say their girl dwarf looks cute, otherwise you're a pedifile >.> and the female orcs really arnt as hot as elves or DEs :p
lol, thanks for all the replies. At the risk of being slaughtered by your orc characters, I'd just like to take a moment to say, I'm sure they are all very nice characters :)
Anyway, I've decided to choose an archer class. I've always enjoyed playing archer in other games, and have always done well with it in PVP, so hopefully it will be the same in Lineage 2.
Now all that is left to decide is what race to go... hmmm
