Second, whats with 7 signs, whys it such a big deal? whats it do and stuff? (i dont really understand much about it eather)(sorry im really new to the stuff post C3)

Third, Whats up with my screen going red sometimes for like 10-30 seconds?, what makes it do that? it seems to happen to the whole server all at once...(dono if its just me or what)

Thanks for answers in advance.... (sorry about newb questions)
Awsome thanks a ton for all the help, Im going to read up all those now thanks!
I'm at lunch at work so I don't have a lot of time. When your screen goes red that's the sign that the demon sword just dropped somewhere. If you check your chat box you will see an announcement of where it dropped and the new owner has picked it up. On most servers if it drops and you get it you're going to die pretty fast. The reason for this is the major alliances will have all their high lvl and hero players out to find you and kill you so you drop the sword. Why? Cause they want it so they can use it to power level their main members. The swords are extremely powerfull, they make you go red the moment you pick it up, and you can't drop it on purpose. You only drop it when you die.

Problem with the sword is that you can xp with it, mobs die fast and the sword has very powerful built in VR so you heal quick. The sword was intended for fun, since you can go around and pk everyone with it and they don't loose xp. Doing this also makes the sword more powerful, people have even solo'd raid bosses with it. The fun really went out of the sword though because it backfired on NC. People found out that they could power level with it, so now the large alliances make sure that they get the sword when ever it drops. I heard of one characater going from 75-77 in 2 days using it. So a lot of people consider the demon sword a cheater weapon. Don't have enough time to get into the Seven signs for you. If no one else answers and I can get on later I will try to give you more information. Seven Signs is actually very important.
7 Signs is a two week long pseudo competition between two external factions. Dusk and Dawn.

To even get into Catacombs or Necropolis around the world you need to sign up with one of the two. AND you can only sign up in the first week of the cycle.

Then from there you collect stones turn them to sway the competition either way. Depending on which side wins, castle lords are either very weak, or reinforced. Making sieging the following week interesting.(Or should anyway)

There other factors like Festivals, rifting, Mammons, Ancient adena, etc. But I'll let you figure that out. You'll pick it up quick.

However I will say most aren't really a competition. As one side is usually the winner week after week.

P.S. Preacher of Doom needs to be killable.
Ignore Jackl. It is a real competition. It's very real. The only problem is on servers like his people just roll over and join the winning side instead of fighting for theirs. On servers like mine, we join Dusk and we compete against THE ENTIRE SERVER and we some times we beat their heads in (Festivals ftw)... locking the rest of the server out of the catacombs, giving them debuffs, taking away their merchant/ blacksmith of mammon privaleges, forcing tax to go down, giving them -10% CP and us +10% CP, significantly weakening their abilities to protect their castles, and giving us exclusive rights to Anakim.

The reason why he won't mention the other factors is because eh doesn't know them. We do though... and when our little group of people steals a Dusk win... the entire server feels it. A lot of it has to do with a mind game... and if Jackl is any indication... that aspect is very real too. The only way winning like this can work is if you can convince everyone else that there is no competition. The less people on your side when you win... the more it benefits you. Don't get me wrong... I love people like him... we use them to our advantage.... but don't listen to him when it comes to the 7 signs. Any group of skilled players can win the festivals against Dawn.... they just have to make the alts (31,42,53,64), gear them, and actually compete. Forget relying on your faction for a win. It doesn't work. You will think you're winning... so you sign up and are lax in your seal stones... then boom, a minute before the calculation we win by turning ours in at the same time. You'd think it'd ruin their false sense of security... but we do so much more to convince Dawn players that they are going to win.

And I do mean this. Castles... Raids... PVP... there is nothing quite like the advantages you get by mastering this competition and the mind game that goes with it. Winning all 3 seals... having exclusive rights to Catas and Anakim... the buffs you get and the debuffs your everyone else gets... it's a huge advantage for your alliance.

As for the competition itself... it's simple pve. You farm seal stones and turn them in... or you do festivals.... which is nothing more than killing mobs as fast as you can. Simple as the concept may be... there is a lot more to it than that.... but I won't reveal the secrets here.
