Heres my dilema, I want to make a 3rd sub meele for a change (main Screamer, sub Sagi) so that I can hunt catacombs etc. I will have an oop 78 Elephant (Hopefully... gonna take me a while to level to 78), and a 74 SE.
My plan will be to hunt catacombs pretty much all the way to 7x, with maybe a stop over at GC for the quest there then onto hunting Varka for the quest.
I cant decide though which class...
I'm torn between BH and Destroyer. Ok these classes are quite different, the Destroyer has huge attack power, but the only way to gather loads of mats will be to seed, which in the past I've found impossible becaue I can never turn the dam things in unless I stay up all night. With a BH I could spoil and seed if I wanted to. With the OOP PoF the attack power of the BH will be pretty good upto 7x and I'll probably use a focus 2 handed sword.
At 7x I can hunt silenos with ease with the destoryer, but I think even with PoF the bounty hunter would struggle, and I'd have to search for a DD/BD to exp. I really dont like depending on other classes unfortunately, I dont like spending 2 hours sitting waiting for the party to get together then someone leaving 20mins later, so I prefer to have a self made party then loose a box or two when a live player wants to join.
So any thoughts/input on which class... the weirdest poll ever, destroyer v bounty hunter!
fastest way to level either isnt with a 2h, is with a pole is those catas. seeding on a aoe train isnt easy :P.
w/ PoF though, I think on a destroyer you'll be able to have a nearly spammable frenzy (w/ the right setup) so hard to ignore that possible leveling speed. and if your needing varka's for the s armor quest, I'd say go ahead and make a dest, that class will be able to rip through them w/ your box (more so if you get a bd in pty, would be able to duo even to the generals I think)
as to the BH, well, you'll get LOTS of mats/keys from spoil festy(and will need practice sweeping all the blue mobs), but from what I have seen, dwarves suffer from not causing enough damage in an aoe train to keep their HP up.
all in all? my vote is a destroyer (but I am jaded, I love destroyers :P)
Poleing a spoiling gets me EXTREMELY fustrated. I have a Bounty hunter whome I keep at 4x and pole for varnish/bones etc. but after a few days playing I cant stand it any more and want to cry.
just so you know i know a destro that solos ketra with only prophet buffs.... only prophet buffs. no vr
he done so better than i did with pof and lvl 74 se buffs and a mech golem
so if you think a bh will compete with that gl
have to be careful, though, that you dont lag, at all. i can solo ketra without any buffs. and by solo i mean, kill three mobs and sit. but BH with a pole sounds like it would work out a bit better for you moneywise. as a BH at 65+ fullbuffed you can head to beast farm for VR and some good spoils/drops (manor doesnt work there). just dont buff guidance or btb. destroyer will level a lot faster.
