Hello, having just started my first character on Bartz I now have a lvl 9 Dark Elf fighter. At first I thought I might go down the Shillen Knight route, however after giving it some more thought im now thinking I want to be an Assassin.. But I can find so little information about either online..

Sorry to compare it to WoW, but if you want to look at a certain class and thier abilities there are litterally hundreds of websites which cover it.. With LII I am finding it very hard to find information to help make informed decsions. For example, the 1st Dagger ability which I got yesterday I tried (after using swords up till that point) and I dont even know what it does!? Help!
mortal blow does a ton more damage than a regular hit but only has a chance of landing.

stratics and vault are your best shot for info but most of it can be found here
the library
<----
has some very basic info
for anything else just ask a question here, ive never once seen a question we know go unanswered
thats kinda how we roll around here

haha :P
its kind of true i asked so much q about ******ed things and they all andswerd it ^^
As you have answered mine very nicely.. I thought it was a bit wierd that it didn't seem to be doing any damage for quite a lot of the time.. But, question answered!
It has a super low landrate as balance for the fact that it'll do about 10 times as much damage as the sword skills.
Ahhh I see, I did wonder.. :) Also, personally, what are your thoughts on which character path is better? Shillen Knight? or Assassin -> Abys Walker?
Well my subclass is a bladedancer, oen of the knight tracks, it's a great group character and a decent soloer. I hate assassin type chars so i have a bad bias on those ones. SK is pretty nifty thoughb ut tanks aren't DD's and never will be.
Yeh, see now in WoW I played a Rogue, and I LOVE being a dmg dealer.. Hence me thinking i'd like going down the Assassin route!
SK isnt' a DD, so if you liked rogue then yeah dagger or archer is probably for you.
the 30 second dagger rundown for noobies:

ok traditionally the dagger classes (abysswalker, plainswalker, treasurehunter) all get "stab" skills that dont land very often but when they do they hit really really hard. they wear light armor, and generally are fast to level as their attack speed is higher by nature with a dagger (incidentally it is fastest to level with a dagger in hand for any melee class from level 1-20).

the dagger classes of lineage2 were NOT meant as PRIMARY damage dealing classes until level 56. around that level some important skills come into play that make the soloing capability much easier with proper potion support alone.

by experience, most people who have sought to level quickly will boost their P.def rating by using Heavy armor from 1-20, and after that, the debate still ensues whether or not Brig Heavy all enchanted is better to solo with, versus the traditional light armor.

most have concluded that level 40+ is the time to wear light armor as the bonuses are just too good to pass up.

the use of bleed, poison and sting skills can be kept to a minimum level unless you are raiding; during raids, often bleed and sting are good ways to keep damage on the boss temporarily while the Hater charges up or hits the potion button.

try not to rely on your mortal blow skill heavily for pve; it does not consistently land even under the most controlled situations; always carry potions, always know your limits, and in dire situations use your Ultimate Evasion skills and RUN LIKE THE WIND.
Thanks, that really helped :)
