Why cant I log on? I have an account made etc. I downloaded the game. Its all patched. Interlude. And when I try to play the game I put in the account info and clikc Log In but nothing happens. I can click any other buttons and like Exit works, Options etc everything works but i cant log in and it doesnt even say or do anything? Maybe it was a bad download i did download it from a different website because I dont wanna have to pay for a FilePlanet account just to download the game. Please help.
i have had this problem sometimes too
i just restart L2 and if that doesnt work, i restart the computer
never ever lasts long tho ....for me at least
K ill try restarting computer because Ive closed L2 dozens of times plus i even re installed+re patched the game since it isnt working. I just bought this game and its not working =S i really dont want it to be wasted since I really want to play L2
Have you started the monthly subscription yet? Are you on a limited account? L2 runs best if on an Administrator Account.
Well i just bought it online. On that playaccount website or whatever like ealier today. Im on Admin account yeah. I just resarted comp the login button still does nothing.
Hmmm.
have you tried to login with the enter button.
It only works if your cursor is in the password box

enter login name <tab> enter password <enter>
thats how i always login.

also, you seem new to the game, are you sure that on the bottom of the screen where the little white copywrite text is, that its not saying something about wrong user name, or anything else?
I checked ive played various MMORPGs before so I know alot of the problems where the copywrite text is it just stays as copywrite text which is why i think there must be a problem because should it change to something else if somethings wrong? and i usually do login<tab> password<enter> also =S but ive also tried clicking the box to =S
mm i just checked my PlayNC account maybe this is part of the problem under bill plan it says 1 mo CC ($) but then under game time it says Total Paid Time 0 Years, 0 Months
? would that be part of the problem i still think the copywrite words at bottom since they arent changing is probably the main problem but maybe this is part of the problem
this is a standard problem if you firewall blocks your game. Nothing will happen.

ESPECIALLY using norton... make sure your firewalls allow L2.exe
It's either lag, or the log-in server is full or down atm.

Keep clicking, or just try again later.
Haha i have norton but i dont know how to use it im pretty sure i allowed it i made sure but maybe it like auto blocked it or something could you tell me how to use norton to make sure its not blocked?
Depending on your version of Norton, there should be an option called something like "Permissions" or "Allowed List" that will allow you to add programs that are allowed to pass data through your firewall.

Make sure that L2.exe and GameGuard.exe (maybe just guard.exe) are on that list.
where is this option. Im looking on Norton and its all just confusing. Im looking for a list to see if anything is blocked or allowed but i cant find it
just look up which ports to unblock, I had the same problem and that fixed it

did you write a support ticket to then on the plaync website? might get some more useful answers there. sounds like maybe your payment method ran out or something.
I've had problems logging because the ports L2 uses were blocked on my network. You're not on, say, a school network that blocks certain ports are you?
Also, your computer's hosts file hasn't been changed recently has it?
Drop me a private message and lets see if we can figure it out.

Make sure that L2.exe and GameGuard.exe (maybe just guard.exe) are on that list.

I'm pretty sure GameGaurd is something like gamemons.des. Make sure you let your firewall allow L2.exe and Lineage2.exe as well as the GG process.
Sorry guys i have no clue what any of you mean im trying to make sense of it but i have no clue about anything for firewalls ive never had this problem before and i dont know how to work ports or anything ~.~ could some of you drop me a pm and explain it like step by step or something i could follow more. sorry =x
Sounds like you are trying to run in full screen mode and thus not seeing the permission windows from norton pop up.

When you get to the log in screen press alt and enter together and this should put you into windowed mode. Then try logging in and hopefully (if i am right) you will get the norton messages pop up instead of it just hanging on you.
Nope nothing popped up
Without knowing where else you could have downloaded the client, I recommend biting the bullet and sign up for a free fileplanet account and download it there. After that if you are still having difficulties, PM Splatter as per his request.

Or just contact Support via the link on the left side of your browser
i used to run norton but i uninstalled the piece of crap
there are i think 4 things which you need to allow in norton for L2 to run and since alot of antivirus stuff picks game guard up as a trojan or keylogger its possible one of those things were just automatically blocked

go into norton permissions and make sure L2.exe and gamemos.des is allowed with full access
cant remeber the name of the other things atm sorry but have a look around and see if anything L2ish is blocked
Nothing at all.
You have an AZERTY keyboard and after every big patch, NCsoft messes it up. Use Alt+Shift to switch between AZERTY and QWERTY, or use Windows options to do it. Then enter login and password and it will work as an AZERTY keyboard.
After that, when you're ingame, switch back with Alt+Shift to AZERTY.
It'll be fixed in a later patch as always.

Thank you NCsoft again...
