you want BW heavy then tallum heavy
not sure how bad the pole nerf thingie hit you but if you can still pole i suggest you do so
you want a 2 handed sword for single target pve and pvp
destroyers can go 2 ways, either a + con build or a +dex/str build. (for tattoos) and the armor choice should reflect said tattoos. if you want to max your hp + con, doom/nm armor, maybe even a health SA weapon, if your looking to pole more, tallum is nice (for the attack speed boost which affects frenzy/guts/rage/battle roar reuse time) however at higher levels for aoe, maj tends to be better for the resist shock (location of where you hunt mainly matters greatly for this as well)
other tat option include + dex + str and again, the dyes and armor need to go hand in hand, dont go + dex then get nm armor. + con and tallum kinda defeats the purpose (for stat modification)
for B grade, + hp setup doom, for + str/dex setup, BW
for A grade + hp setup NM, for + str/dex setup tallum or maj
weapon wise, as nameless said pole + 2h sword. which depends on what SAs you want to best compliment your setup.

I would reccomend the +str/+dex build to lvl with, go full +con before 70+ isnt worth it as it will lower your lvling speed because of the damage output.
For B grade I just have a +3 DEX tatt, -3CON tatt, plus BW heavy. I know BW heavy cancels out the greater portion of that tatt, but I would rather the STR be substituted for HP than DEX.
Accuracy of a Destroyer seemed bad to me, along with run speed. BW helped me run faster along with the DEX making me hit more and running faster also.
I am a noob when coming to a destroyer, but either way that tatt really seemed to help out. I am using a lance with crit stun (it was free) and have a great sword with focus for the time being.
A grade I am thinking of adding +3 STR but debating to go either Health DS or Crit IM...health would be nice for frenzy, but crits are nice....well everyone knows why.
I used Doom for B grade as the hp bonus and breath guage were nice for poling. I have a +4 Dex -4 Con tatt that I use for accuracy as well. I wear NM now and I know that half is canceled out but it works well.
As a Destro you need two weapons to be effective. One is always a pole because you have the skills. The other is either a two handed sword or a two handed blunt.
I went the way of the dragonslayer for a long time. Great criticals and great damage. I tried out the doomcrusher (two handed blunt) and decided not to go back. Being able to stun mobs and players is great. I have added back one skill that seemed useless for so long.
A lot of people like tallium but NM is great for the health bonus. When you are pulling the big hordes you need all you can get. Health SA was the way to go for weapons on Destro. However I had crit stun on my lance back in the day and now I see it is available on the new a grade pole. So for main weapon go health. For pole either health or crit stun but I really recommend crit stun for b grade lance.
I did have a +4 str tatt for a while but it didnt seem to do anything for me. I took it off and got a +4 dex tatt and it made a difference. Not some huge change the world difference but enough that I noticed and have kept it.
why not go with two tatoos for leveling. +4str-con, and +4dex-con. i agree that the -con will be too much, but i think for leveling purposes, orcs get more than enough. and then once you get to high 60s, low 70s, you can change the tatoo setup.
Seems like some people are telling you to go with a defensive build, others are telling you to go with an offensive build. Unfortunately, when it comes to armor in B and A grade, you are forced to go one way or the other. If you have buffs available, and especially VR buffs, then the offensive build will work pretty well, as the added offense will work with VR to help with your HP. And you will level faster. But you will want to avoid heavy stun places (like the bears in GC).
If you want to be the tough guy who doesn't have to worry so much about stuns, go with the defensive build.
Wichever build, my experience on my lvl 63 Desto so far is either way, you will have plenty of CON so that sleep attacks, poisons, etc, are not much of a problem when leveling.
By the way, offensive is something like BW/Tallum Heavy , defensive build is something like Doom/Nightmare. Pole and Two-handed sword, as others say, is pretty much standard equipment.
For places to hunt, in my experience Destroyers mostly do very well with multi-HP mobs. This translates to places like EV and the Cats. However, you need help from at least a buffer to work these places well.
For leveling though, I would go offensive, if you plan on pulling lots of trains by yourself or just with some other AoE person, and support of course.
I duno, just be careful with you HP since Frenzy helps with leveling a lot, and Guts can save your life if you over pull; don't want to cut it too close to death where there is tons of mobs beating on you.
Anyone know if the offensive setup with for a grade tallum heavy, +3 STR +3 or +5 DEX with a Dragon Slayer with health is any good? Health for getting off frenzy or whatnot, or should I just use a infernal master with focus? I really like how the dragon slayer looks btw. :)
Tallum Heavy for A all the way. Especialy if you poling the more you hit the more you get back from VR. And Blue wolf for B grade again better for pole( the speed bonus is better than the extra HP you get from DOOM). Remember if pole go offensive because only then you can make full use of VR.
But even if you solo go offensive again u will mostly use two handed sword so you will need the extra attack speed.
Doom and NM heavy are good armors only if you are a shield user. Which in both cases i suggest you don't get shield and one handed weapon. Two handed have more p.attack(except pole, it is unique situation)
well my sub is a destroyer and I went with the following setup:
B grade BW with Greatsword (focus)
A grade Tallum with IM Focus
For lvling I picked up a +4 str-5con tat from giran magic shop. Works out nicely. I lvled with an oop SE and did alot of multi hp mobs like others have said. Had a +3 lance just in case but didn;t use it much until I got 75 then I sold it and crafted a saints spear. I use that for aoe about 1 out of 5 lvling times

i may be biased cause i play a dorf subbed destro but destro has an accuracy toggle which uses basically no mp and will put your accuracy above what a dorf has
Sometimes buffs/skills/special attributes/weapons bonuses overide each other, sometimes they add togther. When they add togther, that is called stacking. At some point a Destroyer gets Polearm accuracy skills, although I don't know if you get it at low 50s.
When the experienced players are talking about poling large trains, I am guessing that they are probably talking about when the Destroyer has good buffs, is geared properly, and making good use of Frenzy, Rage, and Guts. And maybe even using Greater Swift Attack Potions, if they don't have a Haste2 or equivalent buff for attack speed. My advice is don't just dive into this, get the gear first, and hook up with some good buffers, if you haven't already.
If you're using a 2-hander sword, then Pavel Ruins or Enchanted Valley are excellent places at your level. If you don't have access to buffs, maybe go to the fields on the East or West Side or Aden, or go to Forest of Mirrors. Herbs drop in all of these places. (And work on getting to know some people you can group with.)
Find live healer (EE r best) and go aoe. With OOP SE's vr you can easy aoe in catacombs or rift. Fast, fun, pr2 in hard situations and not bad % rez in worsest case.
