first wrong forum. (player questions)

second, SwS is a good class for solo, small parties, and PvP, the grind is slow till you get to 49 and you get hunter, then alot of meele parties will pick you up.

SwS sucks in olympaid, but is awesome for PvP parties, if you want to play a class that makes you feel like your doing somethig worth wild, thats the class.

3rd, the only classes that has dual wielding masteries is bladedance, and gladiators. you can use duals, but your dmg will be limited.

4th, best weapon chooses for SwS is: sword with focus(W/ shield), Dagger with focus, or crt dmg* after you hit 49*(W/ a shield), and two handed swords with focus. A bow is a must for open pvp. (caution, bows use mp, and SwS has to sing alot!)

however, if you don't have the cash, and most newbies wont...wait till your much higher lvl when you got some cash. 1 weapon is all you need, till your high enough to count in PvP which isn't till atlest 70 for most classes.
thanks a lot ^^
for the pvp bow, just get a shadow weapon.
what's a shadow weapon?
u can rent low B bow for 107k.
In begin it has 300/300 "mana". Smbody said 1 mana = 1min, but it last a little bit longer for me: ~6-7h.
Don't use duals as a Swordsinger, you don't get patk boost from masteries. Choose 1h or 2h sword with Focus. An OE'ed dagger wtih FOCUS is also great, since the critical outweight the loss of patk. Crit damage SA is almost useless. You need at least 2 crit damage buffs (DW+Dance of Fire) for a dagger to even compare to a sword with focus, by then a dagger with Focus will outdamage the crit damage SA anyways.

With Death Whisper and Song of Hunter a Damascus +3 Focus does about equal damage to a +3 Soul Separator.. Focus all the way.
Is it really worth having a bow for PvP that often? dps for a swordsinger is higher with a melee weapon, and shields are a huge factor against all ranged now. I can see there are cases where a bow would be useful, but on average doesn't a sws with a sword (or dagger, whatever) and shield fare better? After all, no ranged class can kite you (unless they have a sws too) and arrest has extremely high land rates.
bows are always usefull in pvp, you can deal damage before a target gets to you, if their running away from you, and with hunter you'll crit a hell of alot, not to mention, a sws can easily keep up with an archer, easily 196 run speed with ww/zerk and wind (in bw heavy that is)
196 speed is not enough to keep up with elven archers.. with that setup you should have 209 speed btw, now we're starting to talk, but I don't want zerk in pvp as an SWS.

And yes, use a sword+shiel when you can. Unfortunately root doesn't land that often, and very rarely on people with boss jewels. You can kill people, but it's not going to happen alot. Hell I've beaten Necros several times, but it gets harder each level.
Sws is actually pretty decent against necro's in pvp just because of there high mdef with warding, there other mdef skill forgot the name ^.^ and invocation to resist all dark attacks not to mention with wind they can catch necros pretty easily

CP Pots > SwS DPS
Depends on who has the most pots and luck :p

CP pots > dark nukes too ^^
Well how much mdef will a sws have after being gloomed and then vortexed? :p

I guarantee a necro can outpot a sws's damage, especially with transfer pain. It's like fighting a raid boss.
With just Divine protection, unholy resist, song of invocation, warding and barrier... expect the vortex to tickle for like 3-500 damage..? Their damage to each other become almost equal :P So for the Necro to actually win, he has to land paralyze or fear..

That's a pretty impressive SwS that will melee for 3-500 a hit and still be using a shield.
he was talking about the damage he receives from a necro ^^"
You might as well bring that Cardinal that gave you Divine Protection then. Either way, you aren't going to score any amazing crits on that Necro, and the best a SwS can do is to make him BSoE. That's assuming you brought enough pots and the Necro hardly brought any.....

o rly?

That suggests that the SwS lands a 300-500 hit with a 1h weapon.

crits?
True, I was talking about taking damage, not dealing it.. but when we're on the subject.. do not underestimate any melee when he gets close to a robe. With my punt 700 patk I'll deal your *** 1k per crit damage with B-grade damascus with only DW+DoF! :)

Playing an SWS isn't about running face to face, more like face to ***. Do what you can, while you can.
I still think it's a stretch to go from 85-150 to 1k+ as a Swordsinger in B-grade, unless your Dama there is heavily overenchanted with Crit Damage SA somehow... Focus just means you crit more, not harder.

But I agree that the SwS in melee does better behind the target.
When I was 70ish SWS with +3 Damascus Focus I did 1k per crit with DW+DoF on an about equal level nuker with Dark Crystal robes, per crit, and I crit often. He didn't have an SWS in party as far as I can remember.. only that 5-6 people Party Return from my single SWS black screening their party at WoA port, solo (i was first to port in of my party).. priceless!

Hmm... I've pulled 2k crits with a clean Dragonslayer with Dances and buffs, but not in PVP, and even robe-wearers tend to have higher damage mitigation than mobs do at the same level.

Impressive that a Dama can pull half the damage of a 'Slayer.
You're not one of those pansy elves that does -STR tatoos are ya? :p
