What is the one spell/skill that you wish your mage class had?
For me that's a long list, but thinking outside of the box, I'll say Illusion casting. Instead of SH having useless summons that look nothing like an SH, I wish that an SH could create an identical simulacrum of itself that can be controlled by you and targeted by others and aggro NPC's as though it were the real thing.
The simulacrum would have very little HP and pdef, could cast offensive spells that delivered very minimal damage, would require crystals or spirit ores, and could only be utilized by a mage wielding a two-handed blunt weapon. Sounds like a summons, and can be dispelled like a summons, but is in effect an illusion, meant to confuse the enemy and allow the non-shield wielding mage a momentary advantage before an assault.
Yes, I know this would not benefit the pvp balance, but again, this topic is about wishes , nothing more. Let the clone wars begin!
I wish my Bishop had a skill that turned any type of monster.. heck even other people into Undead. Thus making the Bishop a class not to mess around with!
And before people start going nuts about how stupid that would be, it was a joke... :p
I wish that, if someone is able to bann my summon, i could be able to bann the guy to the town, so i could be do something after someone kill the only weapon i have that deals dmg. Thank you for making another class useless on mass pvp's NC...
As an EE:
I wish I had more song-related magic. We're priests of the Lady of Song, you'd figure we'd have a little more cool stuff like Serenade.
As a Phantom Summoner:
I would wish for a few real phantoms, something intangible that does things like debuffs but can't be targeted except through transfer pain.
As a prophet... I'd say I'm happy how it is now, but I'd like a few more actual well... prophecy skills. Not in the sense of end level buffs, but just some passives demonstrating the inner fire and strength of a prophet and their divine mission.

maybe an emote where you hold up a sign that says "The end is near!" ?

What spell do you wish your mage had?
I actually like the look of the summons. However, they are useless. Quite frankly, they were always sort of useless.
What I wish for?
Spells that actually worked well. Poison for instance. Does anyone really use poison? Or Curse Chaos.
As an SE, I would like something a bit more related to being a worshiper of the Mistress of Death. That is, I cast at you, and I have a chance of drastically reducing your HP or P.Def or something of that nature. Or something that blocks the ability to be resurrected for 20 minutes after dying (no releasing to town either).
~ I would like a CP heal.
~ I would like a magic skill that would do decent damage to anyone, and not just undeads, so that I can protect myself where needed.
As a SpS/MM, I wish I had more light/holy attacks that arent slow cast/slow recast. Something along the lines of death spike but light would be nice. I also want cancel back to C1 style cancel!!!!!! :p
As an EE.. I want AoE trance :p Hehe.. ok I'd actually like more defensive skills (like celestial shield.. but not? Maybe a longer lasting celestial shield that only does M def?).

To much "wasted" in this game.
Poison was uber in c1. Noone could beat a mage 1v1 in c1. I guess it was just one of those things that was nerfed and never revisited.
No one could beat a mage 1vs1 in C1 for 2 reasons, neither of which was poison.
1) Aura flare and it's 1st class change equivalent. This fast casting high damage spell allowed mages to essentially kill any enemy within 15 seconds. Adding to this, most players were still level 50 or under, so even spellhowlers were using their version in pvp for very good damage.
2) This is both seperate and reinforces the above. Almost every person wore either no jewelery or jewelery of a level well below what they should have been wearing. Using NG grade jewels at level 35 and then being beaten by a mage should not have come as a huge suprise to anyone, but it did time after time after time.
As for what spell I want, something that is both unique to spellsingers in animation and function which will never be made available to any other class or mob (including any boss which isn't an elf [light or dark], eva or shilien) and takes into account the singing component of spellsinger. Something akin to an aoe song which is cast much in the way of a swordsingers songs but requires constant channeling to maintain (and also reduces mp in a small continous manner while doing so thus causing the spellsinger to neither be able to move nor regen mp while using this spell) which could have the effect of reducing the m attack of all enemies in the area (by area I mean siegefield or any other very large space) by 5% for each spellsinger channeling this spell. This effect will reduce enemy magic attack by a maximum of 90%.

Would other enemy spellsingers be immune to this effect? If not, I would hate to be an SpS on any siegefield the minute the SpS chorus starts wailing. -90% max atk for an SH might not be a good thing, but put -90% max atk on an SpS and you get, "Ooo! Stop it, that tickles. No, seriously, stop, that REALLY tickles!!!" :D
But if this is a race-based skill that effects everyone but light elves, then beware those singing fairies, er, light elves.

I concur, sir!
I've been playing my PK for a while and every so often I look down at my skills that I have on my hotbar and wonder why I even bother to put them there because they are always "resisted" (or nearly enough to 'always' it isn't worth the mana-expenditure just for *another* failure).
I would dearly love to be able to use Poison and have it actually land. It never has yet. I would love it if my Sting ability wasn't resisted 8 times out of 10. So basically "Sting" is just a slightly different version of Power Strike. Yay. (<-- note the absence of exclamation point) I end up not using any of these abilities because all they do is make the little blue bar go down. That's it.
My wish then is to have abilities I can use and rely on instead of my only reliable option being "use SS and hit things". It kind of takes the fun out of choosing a class if the abilities that come with it don't work very well, now doesn't it? It would be nice if combat involved a little more than "click monster, hit monster, wait for monster to die, pick up drops (if any)".
If I had to pick one, I'd say make my Sting ability actually work more often than it fails. That would be grand.

No worries, whether you choose BD or SK, your days of "click monster, hit monster" are numbered. . . although BD's don't really get to do much more than that and dancing.

Planning on going BD. That was the whole reason I started a DE fighter. :)
D grade hasn't been all that terribly interesting. I'm hoping things pick up after 40.
After some thought... I decided that I want some sort of telekinesis like buff. Whenever the buffed player kills a mob... the drops are instantly picked up. Even at range. All loot/ priority rules will still apply.
Yeah... this would be nice. Depending on how good you or your party is... this can increase your exp gain by a nice chunk.

They have this in a game called Archlord. It was amazing how much faster you could level when you didnt have to spend half your time picking crap up.
As a (in the past considered as) healer, I wish that heals as positive magic make harm to undeads, like in Final Fantasies. Then some Zombification spell on monsters ... not that healing -> damaging for 900 HP -> dmg is something brutal, but on PCs that would make me doing some job in pvp, it's hard to avoid healing magic.
healers and buffers are masters of life, death and supportive magic, make them not only cast them, but also rule over them ... debuffs, cancels, insta-death spells, non-elemental DOTs ... oh well.
I'd like to see some additional offensive skills for Elven Knights 20-39 and the Swordsinger and TK from 40+. Seriously, our special attacks are capped out in our basic class...
