Joking. ha

But in a casual attempt to create a little more activity here, I present the following:
Two days ago I was scanning my WH in Aden when a bishop randomly decided to cast WW on me. Dark elf that my character is, a free WW is always appreciated and I said "thank you." However, instead of a simple "you're welcome" the friendly bishop thanked *me* for saying thank you and commented that I was the first in 20 players she WW'ed who thanked her.

Alright, so Kain is often a rough server to call your home, and calling a player a "carebear" is a popular insult. We know L2 is like a virtual exercise in darwinism. But are we so toughened as to ignore common courtesy? Are we so used to boxing a healer behind us that when a *live* one decides to extend a helping hand out of goodwill (small and simple though the gesture may be) it's seen as a waste of effort on the healer's part since we can already get buffs for free?

Just a thought I felt like sharing. I just sometimes wonder how often we play *against* each other as opposed to *with* each other. I mean, obviously competition is a big part of the game, but, you know, no need to be rude about it all the time. *shrug*

Enjoy the rest of your day!
Heh that sounds familiar. I remember when people use to beg for WW in towns like Gludio so buffers would stand at the entrance and WW everyone who needed it. This was prior to recs. I've been to noobie towns now and again and yelled free buffs but very little takers, even ninja buffed and rarely do people say thanks.

It's one of those weird things. I can easily see thanking a thanker these days, because it's so unusual.
get off my server carebear.
LOL I've always thanked ppl for buffs :)
But hey that's just me, I will offer the following observation tho.
I do notice that with the proliferation of VOIP software like TS or Vent very few ppl whom I have played with actually pay attention to their chat log any more. Thats not necessarily a good thing but it does lend itself to ignoring ppl when they're just trying to be helpful.

I usually always show some form of gratitude either by a simple thanks, or /socialbow or whatever. It seems though, that whenever I do get buffed, I'm usually afk. By the time I get back, I'm buffed and have no clue who did it.
The BEST way to thank any buffer/healer is to party them!
Hear hear!

I agree with Pirotesa :)

I am often the culprit :)
