I am think about goin Shillen Oracle/Elder path when I hit 20 but was wondering how well solo leveling works or if it was even possible. There is a growing issue with a lack players wanting to party, even in clans it seems.
Also, I was wondering what would be best for the solo leveling. Stick with robes or wear something else and what kind of weapons. I tried the search but no previous posts about this :(
Most of the time its a case of tagging olong with a group and doing raid bosses.
Soloing works i tried that with my elf but it takes a long time. when your high enough for execution grounds lvl30 ish i think grabbing BspS and disrupting the undead works out not bad.
I find getting yourself a good melee weapon or duals is worth it. I stayed with robes instead of light just for the benefit of mp.
Another good place is the catacombs but that requires you to party up again.
You can start doing disrupt undead as soon as you get it. Make sure you buy an matk oriented armor set and weapon. Don't gear yourself as a healer until C grade...you won't be buffing full parties anyways. Duo with a nuker when you can, otherwise emp + bsps works great if you have the money. Don't wear light armor.
I think somewhere in D grade or C grade, you will get frustrated with soloing an SO/SE. They die very easily and get very few lvls of offensive skills. Just my opinion, for what it's worth.
25-40 use disrupt undead in Execution grounds. use Duals for best Dmg output. make sure to buff yourself with all buffs as you go. you will need them all the way to 40.
it works very well. you might need some help for the 35-40 levelling cause EG isnt too good for that. then again everyone does need help at one time or another.
used windstrike to 25 circling the "mining pit" in EG (theres a RB down there, and spectres + neer ghouls + those semi transparent white floating chicks around it) and then nuked various undeads to 35
You should be able to catch the lfg shouts from the cata right next to EG so keep watching for those and join teams that needs healers/buffers
25-40 and 60+ are propably the easiest periods of levels to get groups, but you are [censored] out of luck if you sign up for the wrong side, especially at 40+ when you really cant solo at all any more
How long ago was that? Last time I was there, IIRC, there was only the quest monster zombies you need for class change (and the raid boss). Above the pit is good though. I leveled an SO to 30 there with disrupt undead.

Yep, when I was there recently, there was the Dre Vanul looking raid boss (always did forget his name) and the quest mobs in the pit. Just above the pit, however are spectres, maidens and neer ghoul-types that he can hunt.
I used duals and brig set after level 25. Wasn't even going to pretend to be a mage-type at that point. Just self buff and whacked my way to 40. After 40, I partied the SE with my higher level toons. They did the work, she just sat and played the XP sponge.
Umm... dunno what is wrong with you people.. but I solo my SE in EV all the time. Get duels or a dagger with a focus Special ability, have Greater swift attack pots, robes or leather armor, and a few pots.
You wind shackle monster, kill monster, heal, rinse and repeat. Use root if you get too many on you. It truely isn'y hard, Vampiric Rage, focus, and death whisper makes you very strong. I suggest lizard plains until you are lvl 44, then move to lower EV or stay with the lizards for a while. At 48 you should have no problem with lower EV and you can consider going up top. I have a lvl 47 SE and solo EV all the time, good XP, fast, and you don't need no stinking party to leech off of. (If you get robes, get heavy armor helms or boots to increase your pdef)
If you really want to solo an SO then keep going until you get VR. Once you have VR, head for a catacomb and find the fattest dorf with the longest pole. The xp will fall like melting glaciers. You can also try raid boss parties but those are mostly for drops.
If you want to hunt solo or in small groups after 40, consider using light armor for true solo/robes for small duos(light works to)
Hunt solo while lf DDs to join you in EV or something. If DD that has no buffs hears you he will get ******s and come screaming. Party up, buff the dd with Vr and shiet and then proceed to help him kill things.
The build of this kind of buffer is usually considered battleSE/battlePP.
You do buffs, hunt mobbs in dup/trio wich requre little to no healing with vr and thats it.
A faster way of doing it is finding a nuker you can play a few hours now and then with. Using robes and speedcasting gear you root/recharge and support the nuker who will kill anythig in its path.
Finding a nuker these days who doesnt box is harder thou...
You can solo pretty well till 30 using plain old Wind Strike. You'll need robe set and top D weapon though (and spam bsps/sps). On self-buffs you can easily nuke monsters in lower part of Cruma Marshes. You'll need one nuke and 1-3 hits that will be good enough for your mana.
Mobs there are good enough for up to 30 level (at least).
Then I switched my SE to party play though. Ss vital Vampiric Rage and Recharge are already in your possession you'll easily find mage or polearmer to duo with.
Don't solo going from 20-30... raid. Get you to 30 in a single day if you can bag 6-7 bosses with a full party. If you duo a boss with a pole user it might only take 3 bosses.
