yup and i did that as well
just dont get any crit buffs or you end up 1 hitting the mob and not useing the crystal :/

why do you want to lvl a soul crystal? buy them in crystal shop mate. and use your earned time to hunt xp and the cash it costed instead....

Yes this works.

Quest items still drop or work when mobs are dark blue. I finished some oooooold DE quest (fungi and skellies I think) when I was roaming DE lands for second classchange on academy alt. Items were jumping to inventory pretty OK. And soul crystal is quest item for Enhance Your Weapon quest.
