Help I need tips on AOEing with my ES. Im level 52 and tried the group mobs around Oren. First I tried one group 2 nukes and they go down but when I try to gather 2 groups or more im having trouble keeping Merrow alive and nuking without interuptions. Whats the trick? Is it a one group at a time kinda thing? If so its better to hunt elsewhere imo.
Get acumen, and then kite, kite, kite. Give the merrow PLENTY of room to run back. If it is right at you and getting beaten, don't spam the hydro screw button, WAIT for it to reset and then gently tap once.
How fast can the AoE be casted with or without acumen?
Isn't it better to park your summon and you go get a couple groups with TP up? This way the mobs won't interrupt the pony, at least not on the first AoE..
Is the summons AOE capped to how many mobs can be hit, like real mages AoE? :3
It takes a few seconds, that's the problem. It's much safer with two elemental summoners (to the point that I'd have felt confident to ask a tank to pull the whole field for us, where alone I try no to tackle more than 3~4 groups at once).
No, TP interrupts - yourself as well as the pony for only taking damage once. Never turn it on during AoE, it seems TP hits are guaranteed to interrupt - whenever I tanked, even in robes, I left TP down.
Let the pony kite, there is little better self defense than over 200 movement speed if you have the room to use it. On the first AoE, your pony should not get interrupted simply because it's only hitting the front group (big pull) or hitting a yet-passive groups (small pulls).

Yep. It counts as taking damage. ^_^ Would've liked a photo of my face the first time I realised that (it was in the middle of about 14, 15 mobs I think...).
