What type of a rock is needed for an active skill? I know that it gives random stats, but are active skills only come from High grade stones, or can a medium or low grade also give an active skill?
Also, do you have to use a grade equivalent stone? The description on the stone only said that the "Character" has to be equal to or above the level of the stone.
What it does NOT say is what about the weapon itself, for example: can a lvl 46 High Grade stone be used to Augment an S grade weapon?
Any grade stone can provide active, chance, etc skills. Its entirely random. Although the level of the stone will tell you how high the skill is.
Yes you can use a HG 46 stone on a S weapon... on a A weapon.. on a C weapon, whatever you so choose. The opposite also holds true, you can use a level 76 HG stone on a C weapon if you so desire. (Just as long as your char is 76)
I got a better result with a level 64 basic stone that I got with a level 67 mid -.- Just my luck. Better stat bonus + crit bleed (which sucked; low trigger rate barely noticable effect) on the lower one.
From all I have seen, the level of the stone (46 to 76) and the grade of the stone (low/mid/high/top) don't directly correlate with whether you will get a passive or an active skill. The better grade stones have a higher chance of giving you glow/graphic effects. The higher level stones will give you a higher level skill, if you get one. For example, a level 46 stone might give you an active btb skill, level 2, but a level 76 stone would give you level 10 btb.
If you're only looking for attributes (like +STR, or +25 crit rate) the cheapy, plain stones are fine. If you want a glow, a low level but higher grade stone is the way to go. If you want a powerful/high level active/passive skill, you'll need a 70 or 76 stone.
Of course, this is all my speculation/observation. If someone knows or has seen otherwise, I'd very much like to hear them.
