recent adena buying sites spamming in bartz

This has got to stop!

I tired of wasting all my petitions reporting this to the GM’s.

To me it just seems to be useless for as soon as I report it another random named bot starts the exact same message:

[removed] are good place to buy adena (cheapest, fastest and most reliable). WTS or transfer adena pls contact [removed] or live chat now

This Spam clutters the entire chat room in Giran, Dion, and even Oren town areas. It’s gotten so bad that even in remote hunting areas away from town u still read this spam.

I know this shouldn’t bother me. For it doesn’t hurt me directly. But just the same, it be nice if ncsoft or the gm’s cleaned this up, or at the very least strike a bargain with those websites to be a bit more discrete.

If ur the bot owner reading this plz change ur mass spamming intervals less frequently, instead of the 20 spams per min. And don’t make it so freaking obvious.

Please petition with the player's name if you see advertisements of this nature. You can also use the Support Center (http://www.plaync.com/us/support/prod_10.html) to let us know so we can ban the advertiser right away. Thank you!
Same story as all servers, boo. It's a shame how people exploit those free trial offers.
mistryl trust me i tired but i only have 5 petitions a day and its not really my job do keep doing what gm's should be inforcing.
I can tell you the GMs are watching for them, and do respond quickly when notified.

Three times I've petitioned, three times I've had a response within ten minutes.
I have to agree. If even half of what I'm hearing is true, the GM's must be getting literally hundreds of petitions a day. Yet it continues. This is the sort of thing that makes the players wonder if there actually are any GM's in the game. It also makes them wonder things far worse but I won't get into that so this thread can avoid the infamous Golden Lock!
Aye. Sounds to me like they need a team just to sit in Giran or at the track or what have you to monitor shout / trade chats.
LOL 10 mins wow thats fast my responces have been 20-30 mins long must be slow in lionna.

If only there were more Mistryls one or two in eash live server out there.

If u dont get enought prase as it is she does a superb job here. (clap, clap, clap) I think it was less then 2 min responce time. Better then some fast food joints.

- They make alt spammers just as fast as the GMs can ban them
- The GM team has banned more accounts then there are accounts currently subscribed (aka over 100,000)
- The problem has been addressed... and this includes the boards. Why would they need to leave another topic open? Especially an eye sore such as this.
- Everyone petitions... and the GMs respond to every last one of them.... and it takes time to address every petition individually.
- You spoke on behalf of the rest of the players as if they -like you- failed to make these considerations.
- You couldn't do a better job.

If 100,000 have been banned don't you think it be better to spend time reducing that number? Or shall we just spend all day wasting our time and GM's time reporting them? Prevention isn't allways better than cure now is. The problem has been addressed? take a minute to think what you wrote. Two week trial allways lets bots rule the servers, but sure the problem is addressed.....

LOL 10 mins wow thats fast my responces have been 20-30 mins long must be slow in lionna.

it took well over 1 hr for a respone both times I did it. I also was pmed by one of them asking me if I wanted to buy adena. I /gmed it and they took over 1 hr again. Then they told me they would send me an email asking for more info. When I got the email it suggested that I /block the person. WTH...
Wow.

Maybe it's just me...
The players were the ones who asked for the trials in the first place and I agree with them, free trials are a good thing too, it gets new players into trying the game....we just have to weather the problem childs that come along with it.

Well I ran out of petitions when I started the post so i signed on an alt to report 3 other random generated bots spamming the same shout.
It has been nearly 80mins and still no gm responce. The good news is i havnt seen any new spamming in the past 20 mins so that tells me two things. Either the gm's are on top of things or the bots just moved there shouts out to another area in the server.

This isnt a addressing a small issue anymore. The way these bots spam filter the chat is more of a pandemic chat virus.

I can tell you the GMs are watching for them, and do respond quickly when notified.

I shouldn't have to notify the GM team if they are watching for them....

At least thats how i feel.
Yes, how hard can it be. Maybe I am too naive, but by now they should know it is a severe problem that has to do with the trial accounts, so why can't one GM just have a client running on a 2nd machine with a toon sitting in Giran, and while he works on other stuff, just look over every five minutes or so - and when he sees an adena sale ad in chat, *boom* banned. They do not need any further investigation, advertising adena sales is forbidden. Just ban the suckers. But well, then I would also take a trip through the catas/necros every day and ban the totally obvious trains - whether they have a live player leading them or not, it is easy to see when toons are on walker, so let the live bounty hunter fight the mobs and ban the rest of the train.

If 100,000 have been banned don't you think it be better to spend time reducing that number?

Reducing the number of people they banned? What does that even mean?

Or shall we just spend all day wasting our time and GM's time reporting them?

It's not a waste of time reporting violators.

Prevention isn't allways better than cure now is.

What?

The problem has been addressed?

Yes.

They don't rule the server. Why do you think the spammer's name changes every ten minutes? They are banned as they are found.

Nothing to say here. You seem pretty stupid.

Maybe there isn't an instant ban button. Did you ever consider that? There is probably a lot more work to it than we are aware of. You know... paper work... middle men... you know... procedure.

As for knowing who logs in with [removed]... how? I have heard of people doing this with private servers... but maybe it only works with modified clients? And if this is the case.. I am positive that they are just as bound to using official clients as we are.

Either way... I think it's funny how people second guess the GMs. I bet they think it's funny too.
If you run out of petitions to petition the free trial adena spammers, sign up for a free trial yourself and you get more petitions :D
(oh the irony)
We are way overdue for a few more rounds of mass bannings. Get cracking.
Amen!

We are way overdue for a few more rounds of mass bannings. Get cracking.

yeah im going very much out of my way to petition every bot i see these days
just gotta hope that the next mass ban is a winner

Yes, the sooner the better.

This is another way to hurt these guys, in addition to reporting them as soon as they start spamming...don't buy adena from them. Sooner or later the business case for them to so all this work will fall apart...and they will move on.
Taking back l2 on its birthday.

Aggree to aggree with the next round of new mass bannings.

Lets encurage our buddys to petition violators that abuse the system. The way I see it we have three choices:

1. Voice our opinions and send our 5 petitions a daily. And as a result it floods an alreay over burden system. Perhaps the petition system itself is antiquated and needs to be ovehalled. Hopefully leading to more of the following: GM's being hired or better automated responces to deal with recent abusers.

2.We quit the game. Sending a powerful message that changes need to be made.

3. Turn a blind eye, sit back and do nothing.

Anyone else willing to put a little effort to fight back. Whos with me.

So by reading your post you will advocate quitting the game because the other two proposals are basically useless?

I think there might be a better way to show displeasure without dropping the quit hammer. How bout in addition to petitioning the GM's we all PM the abuser with non-sense to annoy him. Or we make sure that after every "spam message" someone says "Don't buy from them they rip people off or use AFK bots or are "xxxxxx" or whatever - Sure it's prolly inaccurate but really who cares? A simple post like that would, maybe, tip the potential Adena buyer to not buying by instilling a bit of fear. And what are they going to do...sue ya?? LOL

Quitting the game hurts everyone (and is more then a bit unrealistic..I mean we are play for fun and if we quit..well that is not fun anymore..right?) And really would NcSoft even care? At most they'd not feel the pain for 15-20 days or longer for those of us who paid in advance of more then 30 days.

Oh yes! This sounds like the best plan (for me at least).
Hey bot leader - sue me, bite me.
We need more fun now the little xxxxxx's can't drop when they die. - I will always remember the day when I walked over to a group of "synchronised players" who were all stood around waiting for their tank - who was dead on the ground.
I picked up his Composite Helmet and danced off smiling to myself (virtually of course). What I didn't figure was why they didn't pick it up - after all - they used to stand next to my mobs when I killed obviously spamming the pickup key to no avail.
oh the days..

KTHXBYE.
