Drop rate!!!!

Ok i go to stratics check what item i'd like and then say ok this mob drops it and wow he drops other stuff as well so i go out and farm this mob for 3 days straight 3 hours at a time and get nothing but a armor D grade enchant.

What is the drop rate on item's in this game and is there a percentage rate on drops on a website somewhere OUT THERE lmao. getting ticked at this a bit.

FFXI's drop rate wasn't this bad.

Maybe i'm missing something to the hole deal but yeah if a mob drops four different swords and the blades for them atleast within maybe hour 2 hours tops you'd see some sign of the stuff right?
Welcome to lineage2, where dwarves actually are the ones crafting your weapons and armor :)
This game is designed to be a long term commitment, and as such the droprate for items is fairly low.

However, look for what monsters spoil the same items you're hoping to have drop, then go make friends with the nearest spoiler. You'll have a lot better success, usually.

It takes time to XP, it takes time to make money, and it takes time to find the items you want for crafting (unless you are lucky).
yeah but i'm looking for straight up drops not the crafting materials like say the breka orc drops the the sword and the blades for crafting the crafting part would more likely drop then the sword itself? if that's the case this game is crazy i don't like the fact you can't just buy your grade of armor or weapon's is crazy lol but anyway i see the reason now there is more level 40 and below characters then anything else. Cuz getting your C,B,A,and S armor and weapons are almost next to impossible
Actually, no. The odds of it dropping the full sword are VERY small.

What you might want to look at is buying the lower-crystal count item via either a store or the luxury shop, then taking Ancient Adena and visiting the Blacksmith of Mammon and upgrading it.

That's faster, and it seems speed is of the essence to you.
I often get acadamy people saying "I've been killing mob [x] for 4 hours, I must have killed 500 of them by now and [x] site says the drop rate is 1/100. Which means I should have 5!

In essence, this is completely untrue. That single spawn of the mob has the 1/100 chance, not the "collective". You could roll a standard dice every waking minute for the rest of your life and never get a six.

On the other side, even with an estimated drop rate of 1/100, there is still a possibility of every single spwan of that mob dropping the given item. Abeit, a 1/100 chance, it's still there. In C3 when I played on Bartz, I had 2 SoR drops in a single buff run. It's all about luck my friend.

I hope you have plenty of it.

It's all about luck my friend.

Yup, that about sums up the entire game, every aspect of it

Ive been playing for almost 2 years, got my first fulldrop last night, a scallop jamadr (top d fist)

A friend of mine found THREE sword of revolution in 3 kills in deaths pass in c2...
From what I remember (C1/C2), hunting the fettered souls was hard because everyone who was everyone hunted them until they were like level 40 - simply because they were one of few 2x mobs in game (or only, can't remember) and their drop rate on the SoRs seemed to be much in our favour.
Oh, not any more.
These days you'd be lucky to get Adena.... Bring back 100% adena rates :(

That would sure be nice.

/wistful sigh

Unfortuneately, no. On average a 'blade' will drop in the 1/300 to 1/700 range. Jewelry bits drop the most and are in the 1/100 to 1/300 range overall. Armor and shields range somewhere inbetween with shield parts being easier.

Full items have drop rates in the 1/7,000 (Jewelry) to 1/900,000 (Weapons) range.

Killing raid bosses (Grinding them really) is the only real way to rely on something 'dropping'. It would be wonderful if spoils could make aquiring parts easier, except the devs have oh-so helpfully crippled that by making the spoils almost non-existent, not only in spoil rates but also by making things not be spoilable at all. 90% of all the (good) spoils in the game are just jewelry parts.

Most people have been complaining about the low spoil rates since Chronicle 1, but outside of some A grade spoils added in C5, getting them to fix the stupidly low drops/spoils (of just parts/mats) is like talking to a brick wall.

Hence why 1)People just go straight to the NPC/Luxury shops and Mammon (Upgrade/exchange) for 99.9% of their gear needs from NG through C grade and 2)its why so many cheat. (bot).

In short, don't ever rely on 'drops' to get any items or parts. (Unless you have some friends and are farming raid bosses.) If you have a spoiler in level range and can actually find a mob that spoils a part, you can rely on that to an extent. It may take some time to get enough parts for one item but it's far better than trying for just drops.

If you do get a part or two, it's probably easier to get the rest by buying the rest from other people using a buyshop. (They probably only have one part as well.)

i this game is crazy

Now you are starting to understand.

This game is not like others. Only crazy people and people with slightly obsessive personalities play. :D
I am not crazy!

But I am slightly obsessive-compulsive.

There we go.

This paragraph really sums it up. Use Blacksmith of Mamon up to C-grade for weapons, sell any other parts you get from drops and keep only key mats from armor set closing items (eg. karmian gloves linings) in case you find more and be able to sell it. From B grade and up, the only thing you will have is general materials (bones, stems, an.skins etc) and a few random key items. If you have a key item or two you can buy the rest (and the reciepe) and attempt to craft. Good luck (you WILL need it).
