I'm just getting in a frustrated mood right now before I even started in my hometown.
It takes so long to update the client - it's insane. I thought about downloading the whole client would be faster, but still takes me 20 hours.
Yesterday it updated some files, took about 2-3 hours. My Question is: When will it end? oO
The updater does not use the whole bandwidth, may I download updates from anywhere else or set another limit?

Depends, if you got the Chronicle 5 client it will need to download Interlude as well. (300MB more IIRC.) If your going farther back it can take longer, as it needs to download more updates from past chronicles.
Best bet if you already have C5 is to just let it finish the download. Re-downloading everything would be a pain and the updater would probably have to overwrite stuff anyway.
As far as downloading goes, you only have a few choices:
1)Download the latest full client and let the updater patch the rest.
2)Stick with what you have and just let the updater finish.
In short, its best to just wait it out, if your watching the updater progress bar, just be aware that some file/directories take longer than other to complete....
C4 anc C5 were pretty meaty updates i wouldn't doubt it takes a while, but on a couple chronicles i've found that the updated will occasionally freeze during some of the texture downloads.
So I own the Chronicle 3 disc.. would be more than 300 MB I think.
The "Total progess"-bar does not move any further, not sure if it works anyway.
Ah I really want to play today..
If the progress bar (file not total) isn't moving it's probably locked up somehow. C3 to Interlude is going to be a heck of a update though. Depending on how far you are it still might be faster to dl' the latest full client instead. (Updater is slower on a MB basis.) I think fileplanet has an Interlude client, as might a few other places. (fp seems to give a lot of people problems.)
I'd restart the update process and see if it picks up again. (It should)
I'm back.. left the updater with itself. Now the progress bar did a big jump and is located at 1/3.
It should work if i let it download the whole day tomorrow until I get back home (hopefully).

I tried to get the Interlude but thought: "Hell, I have like 1.5 gigs already and if I need to download the full stuff I already have - this would be really annoying!"
Maybe i picked the right choice, will see tomorrow.
I'm back.. left the updater with itself. Now the progress bar did a big jump and is located at 1/3.
It should work if i let it download the whole day tomorrow until I get back home (hopefully).

If i may make a suggestion.....
Once you get the game updated.... Burn your L2 directory to a DvD. It speeds up the install if you ever have to reinstall.
So now I know that I made the right decision. Today I left the updater with itself again, but my connection broke up :(
Still need like 1/4, but much better than the full download thingie.
Can't wait to be ingame at all.. gah! It's been a long time since C3.
This week I'll get some DVDs and burn my L2 onto them - like 3 times so I _NEVER_ may need a update from C3. :p
Oh god i nearly died when the progress bar didn't move for hours. Now it rushed to the right like a ***** squirrel. Still need a little little tick until it's finished.
This was like "WOOT" and I was like "Oh my god, PLEASE!".
In some minutes I'm gonna get ingame and all the waiting stuff will be like nothing.
