Calling All Orcs!

Tejekar oroka!

I'm looking to put together a comprehensive database of all the language terms of the orcish race.

You've already seen them, but did you realize you did?

If you would like to be a part of this, send me a PM here on the forum.

Dekara Pa'agrio!
What language base are you using Tolkien, Warhammer or something else?
I'm using the actual in game text.

Tejekar oroka is the text you see in NPC Dialogue (means "Hello Orc!" or something like that).

Dekara Pa'agrio (long live Pa'agrio), etc.

I've seen no such ingame NPC dialogue like that
Splatter! I'm disappointed!

Go talk to just about any orc NPC. I'll try to get a screenshot for proof, but...

Wow!
Recently I did classchange to shammy (Schuttgart part) and I remember some of those expressions.

That corpse of leopard was saying Tejakar Leopa :)
Other sentences:
Dejakyar Lamme! (from Tataru Zu Hestui) no idea what that means.

(I just realized those dialogues are all on Stratics: Zakar Gandi! Tejakar Leopa!)
Yep.

I was just prowling there to look for a link for Splatter.

But Tejekar is a greeting, Dekara is something along the lines of "Long Live", but Zakar is one I've not found yet.
Die orcs.
This is a unique idea. Now if we can just find out the Orc words for "Humans taste like chicken". :D
Heh.

I'm starting with orcish because it and dwarven are the only two languages visible in game other than the "common" language (which is English).
orcs smell.
In the "Mark of Glory" quest (the class change quest shared by all members of the orc race), one of the low orcs says "Tucro Lecha! my sons!" when you kill them. It's unclear if the low orcs still use the same lexicon as the high orcs, but it might be noteworthy.
I would like to start a petition about calling ourselves Orks and not Orcs as used by other races like humans and elves.
Actually, the best term would be oroka, as that is established in game as being what the orcs call themselves.

This is good stuff folks! Keep it coming!
Oroka, I could live with that, at least has a K in it, yay :)

Die orcs.

orcs smell.

 That o should be capitalized!

We would like a little respect

orcs smell.

My orc smells like fresh spilled blood and spring forest, he's not stinking :( He keeps himself clean and washes everyday. Can you imagine stinking orc hunting in woods??? Would not catch anything.

orcs smell.

Yup as do human DE and dwarves (dunno about those snotty light elves)

All those listed above do smell, with their noses. :D
no, orcs just plain smell, theres a certain smell to orcs, that no other race has, im not going to capitalize orcs, all orcs should stay where they belong ...in some back alley, i dont hate orcs, i think everyone should own a few.
Some obvious details... "Zu" means "Of", or "Belonging to", as in "Tataru Zu Hestui".

"Khavatari" is also an orcish word, the "Khavart" (sometimes translated as Kabart) is the orcish martial art in the in-game translation (Although the main website used "tang-su" for some dumb reason.. >.<), so it's possible that "-ari" or "-tari" means a skilled person.
Tang Su Do is a korean martial art, so I would assume it has something to do with that.

And keep it coming everyone! The more information, the better!
"Dekara Lamchar Kakai!" - Something Centurion Nakusin says. "Dejakar Lamme" -Used in the Mark of Glory quest IIRC. (first one is easy to check, just talk to Nakusin..)

I think that "Dekar Lamchar Kakai" means "Long Live the Flamelord Kakai", based on what Nakusin says after words, and "Dejakar Lamme" seems to mean something like "Hail the flame-spirits". So, by inspection, the Orcish root for "Fire" or "Flame" Seems to be "Lam". "Dejakar" and "Dekara" seem similar, as well, so perhaps "Hail" and "Long-live" are related.

"Char" could be mean lord, but it also could have some other meaning.
Found it, Dejakar Lamme is used in the shaman quest by Tataru Zu Hestui, immediately afterwords he says "May the blessings of the flame be with you" (I have too many screenshots >.<)
This is new as of C5, but..

The Totem Spirit of Gandi also says "Pa'agrio Amare Oites!" when you talk to it. This is followed by "A weak soul is encroached by the darkness, but a strong soul is hardened beautifully within the flames".
(...also from the C5 shaman quest)

"Zakar Gandi! Tejakar Leopa!"
"O, forgotten song, lost amid the long tribe battles!"

Incidentally, "Tazakar" is used by the totem spirit in place of "Tejakar". This could be an inconsistency in translation, and if "Zakar Gandi" is supposed to be "Tejakar" gandi that could be just more "Hails" as well.
Ehh..

All info I have on orcish in L2 is on a computer that's overseas.

Love the idea though Olo :)
Greetings,

I just happen to have an Orc motorcycle gang in my back alley. You wouldn't like what they'd do to you.

I hate people that say : I'm not a racist. Then say DIE Orcs. Or let's just enslave them.

You smell funny. You smell like a hater.

Have Fun ! ™

Light elves usually smell of cinamon, parsley, sage and whatever other spices I add when I cook 'em.
im loving this topic but i gotta defend the elves and say at least they shouldn't be eaten :p
Why not? Have you found any other use for them besides a small snack before moving onto the more fulfilling humans and DEs? :)
if it wasnt for elves, there's be no DE females :p
Well, DE females are tasty, but bad for your health ^^
Male Dwarfes make the worst snack. The meat is so tough, you actually have to chew. Not worth it for the amount that's there.
But the fat and bacon is pretty good for long winter. I polish my shoes, they do not leak when I walk the snow.
