No more free trials like this please

...please. This is terrible. It scares new player rather than brings it to game. I got angry when I had to fight for few stupid quest mobs ...
Give free buddy keys to existing account owners or something, that made less damage than current free trials.

I don't think it is entirely the trials that did it. It didn't help and the epic collection on top of that without any kind of bannings in the last few months makes it look a lot worse.

I'm sure they'll get back into the bannings once the offenders add timecards or something.

Maybe not, but definitely it was last nail to coffin. Accounts are expendable now, unmentionables are more and more arrogant now, and for "older" suppliers in order to stay competitive have to do the same.

For NC: Don't do trials like this unless you are 100% sure you can handle it. I guess NC staff itself did not expect it will grow such rampant - ye they should, Franz was debacle right from beginning too.

I'm going to have to agree. Yesterday there was not a single unbotted mob in swampland on Lionna. I couldn't find anything at all to hunt in the area.

I've been reporting bots, it's going well. Watching them poof in the middle of grinding. Seen an A grade necro killing lower level mobs in Hardin's Private Academy (i'm assuming to farm adena). She'd Vamp Claw and then immediately B2M. I was trying to do the second class change on roommie's toon so I asked her in PM to leave me some Windsus. After no response and about 10 Kill Steals I noticed and /gm'd her. She poofed about 30 seconds after I got the response on my screen.

I think I killed (/gm and they got banned) about 20 other PL toons in the last few days too.

The ones with legible names are the ones that will end up being sold :) So report those.

Buddy accounts are a much better idea. 1 per account and until that "Buddy" subscribes you cannot hand out another buddy account.

This apply and recieve all the 14 day accounts you want until they get banned then get more without any effort at all system is horrible.

So if you happen to give it to someone who ends up not liking the game you'd never get another buddy code?

I think the free trials are great. They just need to implement a few sa***uards. For example, no more than 2-3 trial accounts should be able to run from the same IP address. If an IP address is running 50 trials accounts then something might be wrong. Also a given IP should not have more than 3 trials accounts that can be used within a given time frame (each promotion period).

Make them so they can't trade, simple fix. A real new person isnt gonna have much to trade within 15 days anyways.

You would have to remove the ability to drop anything then as well.

If you couldn't trade, you'd just go to some out of the way place and drop whatever it is you wanted to trade, right?

I'm not saying "no free trials!" completely - just make sure NC can handle such situations. I got feeling they are a bit understaffed and lack customer service under normal conditions, and now this ...

The "no trade" is not a bad idea - if you have friend that wants to try it and seriously considering staying in game after trial, it can be "unlocked" by first monthly fee payment or something. If you invite him/her to clan, make sure s/he cannot dump anything to CWH too. Adena selling farmers will have to at least consider if and how much they can invest to "legalize" their toons and make them able to trade.

A couple of years ago at There.com, there was a similar discussion to this one taking place after free trials ramped up idiot level up to 173 billion .. In the end, all trading ability other than at designated shops and areas for non-members was banned. It worked like a dream.

The other night while grinding in CoB with some clanmates we noticed a group of the "souless ones" just standing in the hallway leading into our room.
After a few minutes they were joined by a dwarf which told us...
"room ours you now leave"
Appears they now feel they own the best farming areas

Well, I had a group waiting in the hall for over 2 hours in Heretics a few nights back. Each time they came in, I said "No, mine." and they left.

Finally, when I was getting ready to go back to town for supplies, I said "I'll be back, and want it when I get back." I was gone for probably 2 hours, came back and as soon as they saw me they moved.

Maybe it's just you?
