Is it possible to goto the human start zone as a dark elf?

I'm playing a Dark Elf and my friend is playing a Human.

And, yes, im a total newbie :)
use your newbie tokens to travel to talking island, so yes it is possible (or he can come to you etc)
You just have to go back to DE village (or main land) to learn skills, so save a few tokens :)
Yes you can but you will have to go back to your Dark Elf starter zone or the next zone higher then a start zone (Gludin and Gludio for example) if you want to learn the skills for your class once you meet the level pre-req.
ok cheers for the fast replies :)
Also, what classes are able to dual wield swords?

And which would be the primary damage dealer out of those
Bladedancer and gladiator are the only 2 classes that get masteries in dual swords. Bladedancer is DD/support, always wanted in groups, and glad is pure DD.
Awesome, Bladedancer sounds interesting.

Also one more question (I'm full of questions since i just got the game :))

When will i be looking to hit my first instance (dungeon)

There aren't any instances.

If you are in dark Elf Village you can head to the School of Dark Arts. If you are a human there are the Elven Ruins.
You can start finding groups in catacombs and necropoli when you are level 20 and have done your class change (sign up for 7 signs to gain access at priest of dawn or dusk, depending on which one wins on your server - it's usually dawn).
Rifts is an instance, as are the Festivals.... technically... but you won't need to worry about those for awhile yet.

I'm biased, but I think DEV has better hunting spots than TI.

Besides...it is unbecoming for a Dark Elf to cater to the whims of an inferior species. Are you not Shillien's chosen? Have you no spine?!? Tell the Human to come to you! :D
yeah but what sucks about DEV is the long entrance
best dungeons in a starter village are the dwarven ones for sure.
Mith mines FTW
Just because you can use dual swords at D-Grade (20+) doesn't mean you should. A 2-Handed sword will deliver the best DPS since, as a Palus Knight you get Sword/Blunt masteries which affects 2-Handed swords but not Dual Swords. Top D 2-Hander has a base patk of 112, top D duals have a base patk of 107. The 112 Patk combined with your high STR and Sword/Blunt masteries will make a Claymore the obviously better choice.

Once you hit C-grade (40+) it is necessary to get Dual Swords as you can not perform your primary function which is Dancing. Dances are buffs that affect the entire party and stack with normal buffs and that makes you wanted in nearly every party.
