I might not be the first nor the last to seek outside help constructive advice or assistance. But I am willing to change and I am asking for it now.
A bit about my passed
I have been playing L2 for nearly 17 months ever since the launch of c4. I got into the game shortly after quitting Magic the Gathering Online that I have played for nearly 2 years over 10y IRL. One of the reasons for leaving MtgO it really lacked the community the pvp experience L2 has provided me. I think this is one of the reasons why I just cant get enough of L2. Well enough about my love of the game.
This is my story:
For those of you that vaguely remember the last PTS this is or was Ice Cold. I still revisit that post from time to time see if anyone replied back. But like all dead post its long been forgotten. But it doesnt have to be.
One reply, particularly Thorns, which suggested we do this on live. I thought about it several times and quickly dismiss his reply.
We were a unique bunch in that we spanned nearly every server in that one clan. I had members from Franz, Bartz, Kain, Devianne, Hindemith and Gustin the list go on and on. We were melting pot of server refugees, I often referred it to L2 camp from RL, wanting to test out new skills armor weapons and most of all have fun. And fun we had too. But now that Im back to RL server Bartz I really miss all the hoopla and hell we raised back on PTS.
Do I really need to wait another expansion pts to experience this again? I think back to Thorns do it on live reply. No! Not at all, if I can get a bunch of over-zealous Olympiad hero pvp killing-freaks buddies to stick together in 4 weeks we can surely reign over some of that thunder over to RL.
I neglected and sacrificed my clan on bartz for PTS. To this day I am still paying for my mistake. My members have been MIA or AWOL to other clans, due to the lack of clan momentum. Im sure this has happened to many clans in the passed. I was the center, the glue, holding the clan together. With my short absence, the clan started to unravel and drift away.
There is a lot of pressure that a clan leader gets when dealing with a big clan. For one they all look up to you for answers support. And I sometimes, the know-it-all that I am, admit I dont know everything. I admit I sometimes feel like escaping my clan when I feel like im over my head, so part of reasons I took a break and jumped into pts was to relive some of those tensions in a natural zone. I did not and never have planned to be making it my 4-week home especially when I made such a huge impact on PTS. Quite frankly, I really didnt want or plan any responsibility, but once I saw disorganization and lack of leadership I stepped up and my natural clan leader skills kicked in.
But Im trying to change and move forward. If I need to spring-clean my clan rosters and stir up kindling to reheat my clan into the next following expansion I am going need some of that raw energy I got from PTS.
My RL clan is not too shabby at a steady -level 5- with no alleys. With more then -6840 clan points-, rounding out the -top 36- on the biggest most busiest server. I had over 52 members before going to PTS; I am now down to 33 with an average of 10 active members max. Our clan has always been a friendly support clan for friends and family. In the passed we had several clannies who had their cousins sisters brothers etc in the clan so one way or another we were all related.
Most of the original members that are still in the clan including me are all moving into a grade, finally! (Sigh) And I for one have no idea what lurks beyond the protected newer player areas. And I need to remake and outfit the clan to continue to grow.
What I looking for is some leadership, captains, veterans that can dedicate themselves and use their expertise-know-how to help our clan grow and hopefully find a new home with us. I am even willing to take veterans from other dead servers who are willing to make the move and looking for an excuse to go to bartz.
I dont want to be the glue. I dont want to give all that pressure to anyone even me. I dont like the term glue at all. A chain is more appropriate so if a link fails the others tighten up and kept the link together. The clan should be bigger then life bigger then me. A good clan leader is not the center heart its his leaders. I like to think of myself as a visionary that will drive a force to greatness. I think all good clan leaders have this vision. Who knows maybe I step down one day and let someone run it that I believe can do a better job. Till that day I stay right where im at.
I need strong leaders that are:
1. Familiar with the higher aspects of the end game.
2. Willing to work with lower characters helping them level up.
3. Can help update and maintain this clan with a web page
4. Ventrilo speech software familiar
5. Historians with picture video graphic knowledge
6. Can help me draft a good clan manifesto
7. Friendly good people that know now to work the grind
8. Best of all play and have fun with others.
If any leader/captain fits this description out there who is willing to take these challenges, pm in forum, and/or leave me a brief mail. If you have any positive suggestions I might have missed please fill free to reply with good feedback.. One last thing too, Im not currently accepting regular members.
