For those of you with the misfortunate of getting KoS put on them or putting it on others is pretty much the kiss of death. L2 is a very communal with its intricate cliquish hierarchy that once someones gets the label KoS, that toon pretty much becomes rouge or re-role and hopes nobody knows there alt.
Kill-on-site (KoS) is a term commonly use for someone that utterly done a one of the most grievous of all pvp offensives with in a clan to the clan or one of its members. They are the following:
Scamming
Cheating
Lying
Bad conduct
Scamming is the highest offence. Getting caught performing a scam to others or a clan member will easly get one labeled KoS. Getting KoS for these reasons epecally for scamming will follow your character everywhere you go. The repercussion are nobody trust you again no more clans or trades people will avoid your shops etc
Everyone hates a scammer.
Cheating and lying fall pretty much the same for obvious reasons Im not going into mush detail for they are self-explanatory. Normally pertain to mob drops or raid drops the reasons are normally pretty pity, but still serious enough to warrant labeled a cheater or a lair. As a result a falling out of some clan member or members this which in turn become KoS. Funny how most falling out that occur like this the drop in question is pretty insignificant. The fact is people in this game take even the smallest crappy drops way taken too seriously.
Bad conduct are rare but some peaceful clans actually kick out the rudely and troublemakers. My guess is just a matter of taste in clans. I normally tell those high-spirited troublemakers to take it out on the enemy. Simply put not everyone in a clan gets alone there are some that just rub others off a very bad way this will disrupt the harmony. As a result pking clan members and steps need to be made to squash these sorts of occurrences. Every clan leader has to play judge-jury and in sometimes the executioner, be sure to calmly listen to all sides of the story. Open mindedness, calms and in some cases taking several steps back work wonders. As these sorts of problems tend to work them selfs off over time. Getting labels Kos for this sort of behavior is prob the least of all other. It tends to be very short lived and mostly from that one or two members in which KoS was warranted.
Is there a return from KoS status?
Of course there is. One doesnt have to re-role to avoid what little indiscretions one might have or have not committed. KoS shouldnt be a life sentences unless u really deserve it. And depending who accuses you and labels you KoS, better hope you can pvp them back before they get you first.
One of the best ways I deal with KoS I always avoided using it on ex clan members until recently. In the past I have told others that get it to work it out. One will be surprised on how a little time out help mend up broken fences. But what really irks me most of all is the betrayal that warrants me to use such methods to punish those that have wronged me. I dont even mind what damages I might have lost. Feelings where hurt trusts are broken, just makes it harder to trust the next one. I dont like being jaded blame it on the KoS.
