I'm considering making a 2nd account so i can box a healer/buffer. My main is an SR, and i was wondering whether SE or prophet is better? I like prophet's BS, Haste, BtB/BtS etc., but i think i'd run out of mana waaay to quickly (i already have to stop and rest occasionally, and i can't afford an SA for my bow). plus side for SE is the Recharge (good for archers and if i lvl my nuker more too. i could also go places that don't drop herbs!!) and VR (awesome for my melee chars)....So i'm thinking SE is most balanced and will make for the most non-stop lvling?
kinda unrelated question, but what should be the character class i use as my "newbie" character? or would it really even matter?
With that said, it seems like you have... alot... of characters. Which is your main? Its the only one that really matters. The numerous alts do nothing but suck money out of your pocket. (Might be why you cant afford a SA on the Bow)
Mana shoudnt be a problem with Cheap Shot and after mid 50's isnt a problem if you have cheap shot or not.
You could go a "best of both worlds" deal and pick a Warcryer. It has a nice mix of both PP & SE buffs, but lacking a few vitals.. although you can pick them up pot/scroll form.
I emphatically agree. I started my HE with an SE in tow. It was great when I was xping with a Dark Screamer and later a Kris through the earliest part of B grade. But one day a higher level Prophet buffed me after I started using a BOP and I was hooked. Not long after that I rolled a PP to use for my archer alts.
I don't play an SR, but from what I've heard, mana is only an issue at lower levels. (That's the case for most classes, which is why using a dagger at lower levels has merit.) You can't substitute for VR or recharges, but there are always heal pots, elixirs and herbs.
Aside from that, a PP can give you buffs that will enable you to deliver more damage faster (Haste, Berserker Spirit, Greater Might) in general, and to undead mobs in particular (Holy Weapon), plus you get more defensive resistances than an SE has to offer.
eliminating my alts would only give me around 3m in gear...but i guess that would help. without selling their stuff, i have *barely* enough money to afford an SA right now - i'm lvl 56 with a BoP, and i'd be scraping the bottom to get it. but i kinda figure that i'd might as well just wait so i can get a soul bow as soon as i hit 61. then *attempt* to get enough for an SA for it. so iguess prophet is best once i get an SA?

There is nothing wrong with using B grade weapons at A grade. You may actually prefer to keep the BOP than upgrade to a soul bow.
And don't buy a level 12 soul crystal. Find a good raiding clan and go level one. If you're having problems affording the adena for a level 10 SA, you'll go mad when you see how much it costs to put an SA on an A grade weapon. Not only do you need a level 12 soul crystal for the SB, but you also need A gems (which means you need to farm seal stones for Ancient Adena) and to meet with Herr Blacksmith of Mammon.
Frankly, if I couldn't really afford it, I'd keep the BOP, until the string breaks.
NO!! Go away so i can finally play this game single player!! >.<
Yeah, go with prophet and never look back ^^
SE isn't THAT bad if you plan on making some melee/nuker alts either. However, then I'd just make a level 30 SO on the same account and log it where I hunt for VR/EMP.. well mine is 52 now though hehe
Yea PP is a sorta dead buffer class for a nuker. Any buff you need from them (one buff? Acumen). Can be had from an L2Day Scroll, a cheap one at that. And they can't recharge /cries. I do love their resist, Max HP/MP buffs though!
