Rec. Remaining?

What is Rec. Remaining? Its located in the character status bottom right corner does it serve a purpose? Right now it's at 6 for and I never really notcied it till today. Thanks in advance.
Recommendations Remaining I believe...you can recommend up to 6 players for...what is it, a day? Anyhow, in the ''Actions'' Tab, you can click on someone and give them a recommendation for your own reasons. Some people will buff you to recommend them...why, I'm not completely sure. From my understanding, it changes your name color or something, allowing you to stand out while selling items?
You can rec 9 persons per day. Altho the max number depends on something like 1st and 2nd class change done or sumthing, never paid much attention to that.

And yea, you can recommend other people and the amount of recs they have changes their name color. Dark blue is when you have max or near max recs wich is 255. You also lose a few recs per day so unless you get recs all the time, you will lose the color of yer name.
before 2nd class change it's 6 rec's per day, after 2nd class change 9 rec's per day :)
Before 1st class change and after level 10 it's 3 rec's a day.
You can rec someone or get someone to rec you simply by logging on and off, you don't have to wait a whole day if you're impatient :)

I've also been told that having a lot of recs decreases the amount of exp you lose upon death, whether this is true I don't know because i've never had a chance to try it.. maybe someone could verify?
You have to wait a whole day to get all 9 back though~

But yeah... with a large enough group.. you can get chain reced and earn 255 10 minutes or so.

I wonder if it counts as an exploit though XD

It's a myth. The only thing it does, is change the colour of your name.
recs lowers the chance of dropping items if you have alot of pk's
Please tell me you're joking..
ive heard that as well, ive also heard that the higher your rec score the more karma you lose per mob when chaotic. not sure if its true or not but ive heard it a few times
From my understanding, the recommendation system was brought over from the first Lineage (never played it, myself). Sources tell me if you were had the maximum number of recommendations, you would not drop items (or the chance decreased?). Or something along those lines.

Far as Lineage II goes, a lot of things involving the recommendation system have been floating around; never seen anyone prove it being useful beyond aesthetic appeal, though.
Nothing I have ever personally seen in game supports any of the myths floating around. Neither the "lose more karma when you have high recs" nor "drop less when you are red". Recs do absolutely nothing except turn your name blue.
and i luv blue name i got a 2e account and made 6 chars lv.10 (1 is an SE for dual boxing :P) and i rec my self everyday :P i lose 2 and gain 7/6 :P sad i know :P

does that work ?

OMG proof it or dont talk bs this is what confuses ppl
Personal experience: 255 recs(maxed out) Dying = normal exp loss.

Being red and killing mobs = same karma loss as with a character of same lvl, killing same mobs but with almost white name(alot less recs).

Dying as a normal player to mobs(C3/C4) with max recs: Dropping stuff just like everyone else.

So, only thing I've ever noticed that is influenced by recs is the color of yer name.
Other than having a blue name, the only purpose to having 255 recs was to have a much lower chance of dropping items upon death(non chaotic). If you were red, it didn't apply.

Now that you can't drop anything unless you red with more than 5pk, recs only give a blue name instead of white. <_<

I never noticed that (had full blue name for ages, basically since they introduced recommendationss - being a buffer helps :) ). I dropped lots of stuff, just like everybody else, when we did Antharas raids etc. It does not matter anymore since you cannot drop stuff when you're white since they changed the death penalty system, but I call BS on that. Recs never did anything else than make your name blue, no less drops on death, no higher karma loss by killing mobs or when washing, nothing. All just rumours.

lol i say its bs proof it or dont talk bs :P

"Dont discuss on the internet your always wrong"
I could have sworn that having max recs reduced the chance of dropping items on death (though the chance was still pretty high).

Either way here you go:

"Evaluation of others is a function of being able to recommend other players. Recommending another player doesn’t have any effect on the ability values of that player or on other systems, but characters that have received recommendations from many other people have their character name changed to blue."

Recommendations is a currency to get buffs and recharges in Lineage][.
In Lineage1 having a blue name reduced your chances of equipment loss when non-chaotic.

It has never served a purpose in L2.

You are out of subject :p :p :p

Lol, where did you saw this writen??? I doubt this is true, don' t come here and spread non funded rummors. The recommend system (or evaluate one) is good to you know the active and trustfull players around. Obviously once if you pk someone, your evaluation score goes to 0 you see that not many people give much care about this.

It's easier to see buffers and healers with blue names than nukers and dd's.
no its not true :) if it where true it would be on offi site :)
