When leveling up to SWS what would be the best weapon for me to have? Ive read around and it seems when i become a sws sword sheild is the best way to go, but while leveling up should i go with a two handed sword? thanks for the help :)
For now you can still with 1 handed sword. On c grade usually people go for duals.
B grade it's pretty hard to say i already saw sws with most of the malee weapons of the game, except blunts and poles. And even some using bop. but on b you're already good for partys so maybe weapons aren't that needed for pve. On a grade i just love to se a sws with Dragon Slayer.
20-39 (D grade)
Just use a 1H + shield... the benefit of a 2H in damage over an 1H+shield is just nowhere near the usefulness of a shield.
You won't kill any faster really due to slower swing speed and the fact the mobs don't take that long to kill anyway. Note it doesn't really matter as if you can get a weapon of the proper rank (like top D) you can swap out and try it either way and just trade back if you like.
40-51 (C grade)
After 40, I can see using a 2H, especially if you can find a highly overenchanted 2H.... but frankly that shield and faster swing speed will still be hard to beat. Again, you canswap back and forth and try it for yourself.
52-60 (B Grade)
No more swapping, but you don't really need to.
Find a Damascus/focus if you can... there really isn't a better choice out there unless you can find a highly overenchanted greatsword. (top B 2H does not have focus)
61+
2H really start showing their worth as A grade 2H weapons like the infernal master gain a nice bonus from +++ and can have focus put on them. 1H A-grade swords do not have focus for some reason. Losing that shield and the faster swing speed is still a pretty big price.

duals are ******ed for an sws, why do people keep giving stupid suggestions like that?
they have the same base stats as 2-handers, crappier SAs, and are not effected by masteries
dragon slayer as well is dumb...the health SA serves no purpose. the infernal master is much better because focus>any other SA, even despite the slightly lower patk. it is also much cheaper and the SA crystal is cheaper
