Which summoner is most useful in PvP and can level halfway decent? Get as into it as you can, and please no Necromancers.. just the basics: Elemental Summoner, Phantom Summoner and a Warlock.
i am just a low lvl 60 phantom summoner on the gustin server but i would say a elemental sumoner is the best combo of what u want. The cubics and tht party cubic u get as a ES makes u deadly in pvp and also it helps in Pve. The speacil abilities of the unicorns are nice in parties also :)
The elemental summoner is only popular for PvP for three reasons: Fast casting on elves, Mirage has a true nuke, Merrow has a true AoE nuke. The cubics for the ES are probably the most worthless of all the summoner classes. The ice cubic makes your opponent bleed a little and the life cubic restores a very small portion of HP.
Warlocks also have a true nuking servitor (Mew) and a decent casting speed. Their strm cubic is completely useless, but the binding cubic can me very effective in PvP. Their "AoE" summon is Kai the cat who has a reflect damage passive ability (also useless, but he has a great Patk).
The Phantom Summoner is a little different from the summoners previously mentioned in that their unique strength lies not in the servitors, but in their cubics. The debuffing phantom cubic casts either wind schakle, power break, or Hex on an opponent. Also, it should be noted that the cubic's wind shackle stacks on top of your wind shackle, so you have the ability to have wind shackle lvl 6 on your opponent. The Hex can also make a big difference in PvP. Additionally, the PS has a stunning cubic witch has obvious perks for PvP. However, the summoned servitors for the PS are rather average: Soulless has two rather useless AoE nukes as far as PvP goes, and Sihlouette has a drain nuke instead of a true nuke like Mew and Mirage. These two summons are not useless by a long shot, Sihlouette does great melee dmg, but they are not as effective as the Warlock and ES PvP servitors. However, the cubics fully make up for their shortcomings.
Wasn't going to go into the party summons that each class has because they are all honestly very effective. Cat queen has an awsome stacking focus+DW. Seraphim has a couple party MP regen buffs/cures that will complement any party. Finally, nightshade has an awsome mass hex+gloom debuff and has a great healing ability that can be spammed without worry about running out of MP. (You simply resummon him when his HP has been all used up as healing does not put you in a battle stance)
Warlock gets my vote as overall best choice... but not by much...
Why?
-Solo is straightforward... buff the kitty.. send the kitty to kill things... Honestly Merrow is superior because of its special being useful, but frankly the easiest kills are simply sending the kitty and watching it eat mobs for breakfast.
-Binding Cubic is just plain the best cubic period for PvP because of the power of the effect and the fact it stops people from potspam and BSoE. (it doesn't keep them from forcelogging, however) Warlock is the only summoner who is a very real threat even when their summon is gone. One spell/hit and one failed resist and you still lose.
-Mew's nuke works just fine, the only advantage Mirage has is that elven summoners get Empower for their summons. Provided you can find an SE, you have everything the ES does in this field.
-Queenie's buffs are desireable by any melee/archer party in the game. Because of this, you will get cross-alliance invites and be very much in demand. This is not to say the ES or PS party summons are not useful, but they do not contribute the offense EVERY party is looking for...
Frankly, all three summoners are pretty good... but the "best" seems to be the one which will be partied anytime they want.
Queen is a biggie. Your buff is like adding on an extra focus/death whisper on top of all other buffs and dances.
Seraphim comes in second because it shortens reuse time and either gives a clarities effect... or it increases mana regeneraiton. This is good on two levels because not only would it help in a nuker/ healer party... but because of your natural cast speed (elf) and seraphim's buff... you can summon party members much MUCH faster than any other class.
As far as cubics go... Warlocks gets that cubic that does para on melee damage... and you can't go wrong with that.
Nothing is more humilating than getting beat up by those fruity cartoony cats. Its like being beat up by a 7 year old girl.
LMAO!! I think I'm just going to make an Elemental Summoner for an alt.. They seem intresting and I already have a DE Going SH atm (reroll). I had a spellsinger back in c3 and I enjoyed it a lot, but SH seems more my style. Leveling a Elven Wizard will be fun (cast speed, big ears, etc.) and a guy running around with unicorns will be quite funny. The nuker unicorn with hydro blast skill (forgot the summon name gotta study more!! :mad: ) seems quite cool seeing it around occasionaly. People say that summoners are more of the fun class and since this is an alt, I just want to have fun. Thanks for posting your replies and thoughts.. :D

Phantom Summoners (Dark Elves in general) are the ugliest models in the game, and look horrible in robes IMO.
Humans look good too.

But I like the Warlock better. More balanced stats for the race (Human), good servitors, awesome cubics, and getting the fastest/most dependable PL in the game is all a bunch of pluses for that class.

Orcs look like they're throwing rocks everytime they cast a nuke (I seen an orc on hi Sh subclass and it was horrible looking).

Yes, Lineage 2 screwed dark elves over when it comes to most light armors, but Doom for Bg and NM/Mag for Ag look fine on us. :(

Male PS looks horrible in robes, female PS looks horrible in light (URGH nightmare - wth were they thinking? >_<), both look horrible in DC robes. There are some acceptable robes for DE girls, but none like elves or humans that would make you go "wow, that looks good".
And orcs? Female orcs in robes are the hottest. *.* Rawr!
Female human mystics (warlocks) in Dark Crystal Robes... yummy.
The only problem with human mystics (warlocks) is you are locked into female. You get to pick an ugly or a cute female though.
DC on human female mages makes them look like ******s. I think tallum and blue wolf robes look best though.
Blue wolf robes look horrid... Tallum robes are "bleh" at best.
I guess this is a matter of taste.
The reason I like Dark Crystal is simple...
I like scantily clad women and I like the female human mystic model quite a bit.
I usually relegate my fashion sense to my wife... being that the female human mystic looks much like she does, I value her opinions on such matters.
-My wife absolutely hates BW robes... she thinks they are the ugliest robe set in the game for human mystics.
-My wife absolutely adores the DC robe set... she wants one IRL.
