I am playing a 67 OL and I am loving it more and more every day!!!
Anyway, being a noob in what concerns OL's playing style, your knowledgeable advice is most welcome concerning the following points:
1. OL Skills compared to Prophet/SE and others;
2. Unique OL skills;
3. Best armour, weapon and tattoos combination;
4. Alliance/Group support;
5. PvE tactics;
6. PvP tactics;
No offense, but unless you have been solo under a rock, those questions are pretty basic to someone who at this point has 90% of their skills.
You may want to go back to the library first and read about your skills there.
What armor and weapon are u using now? Where are u leveling at?
My advise is you ask for your money back and buy a FotM character. There's a reason they're FotM: you wouldn't have to ask any of these questions with an HE. You buy a bow, shots and arrows, click on something and attack. Lather rince repeat.
Leave the 67 OLs to people who actually played the game :P
This newb doesn't even know you don't ask strangers for help in this game. Sooooo funny though. By 67 you'd think he'd met an OL mentor or bumped into a clan who would un-newbie-fy him.
Oh well, here goes, Taliesyn's guide to playing an OL. I'm a 75 OL afterall, so trust me on this ;)
1. OL Skills compared to Prophet/SE and others;
OLs are nukers/debuffers, not healers/buffers
2. Unique OL skills;
Seal of Scourge, use it often.
3. Best armour, weapon and tattoos combination;
Everyone uses bows now, and I'd say light armour
4. Alliance/Group support;
Just use Seal of Scourge to keep your ennemies debuffed and steal essence to kill things
5. PvE tactics;
Seal of Scourge + steal essence
6. PvP tactics;
Seal of Scourge, Seal of Mirage and then pwn people up with steal essence. Start with dwarves and other high hp classes since you can take them out quickly.

I am sorry, but maybe I mis read the thrust of this. He is not a n00bie, he is a level 67 OL. If he could have played and leveled this toon to 67, he would not have asked those questions even if he had solo'd himself up to that level.
I, for one, would be most impressed that he had done this all by himself on an OL.
I would be the first to admit to not know things in this game. I come here for help in those matters and the answers here are ususally a very high quality. But this whole question and premis is too far out there for you to have stated we don't help n00bies.
The only time I could have seen this is if you were starting to subclass and were really, completely lost. But, since you can't subclass an OL, well even that point is lost.
I confess that I was not expecting the majority of your answers...reminds me a bit of L2 Blah...why should people always think the worst of others?
I dont feel obliged to tell you how I have the account but just for some of you to know how unfair you have been here it is: I am helping a friend to keep the account open. He cant play for a few months due to professional duties (military) and I am maintaining it open. Tried it and liked it a lot. He didnt wrote me an e-mail explaining everything about it before he left and I decided to ask your advice.
I wish to thank to Katastrophe and tha_don for overcoming the prejudice and actually having helped me...thanks a lot.
You should probably have included some of that info in your original post. Can you blame people for being suspecious?
What you're doing isn't totally legal either, but I think it's a grey area when it's a RL friend, that's using the account. I seem to remember HGMspam saying that they didn't want to ban friends and relatives for, well, account sharing (naughty word :p).
There are ways to keep an account open without anyone else playing ie, either just keep paying or let it go inactive and starting it up again later. Neither one requires third party intervention.
But naturally if you would have said that to begin with, it would have saved a lot of "lol ebay" ribbing from us ;)
Actually, then we were correct in our origional assumptions, just the fact that it wasn't a bought account. So be it.
At this level, you really need good friends online or an active clan. Your damage output is not very good right now so solo is a bit slow. Your AoE spells are not that good except for Silence and your best weapon is your sleep spell. It will allow for harder places and when things go amiss.

Most ppl tend to think that you are an ebayer, but now you have told us the truth....its fine .... so dont be too defensive, normally a player will know his char well when his/her toon is higher level .....so dont get mad .... you should've told us in your original post ...peace ^ ^
Sorry Zhanig, maybe I should've said we don't usually help level 67s with level 39 questions?
Generally by level 50 a player has a good feel of his class, by 60 they usually fall out of the newbie range and by mid 60s to 70s they're ready to contribute greatly in pvp.
Since OLs take sooooo much longer than other classes to level, I'd say by level 50 an OL has more play time than a level 75 nuker. By level 60 they should've tried to abuse all of their skills as much as possible to find out original ways to exp. By level 65 they realized there's nothing to be done and then you just f1 attack, f3 steal essence and f4 pick drops. On laptop you f5 recharge every very often and that's about as fancy as an OL can get in pve.
1. OL Skills compared to Prophet/SE and others;
totally suck. not kidding this time. you don't have haste, focus, vr.
2. Unique OL skills;
OL unique skills are useless in pve except maybe in a pole party which almost never happens anyways
3. Best armour, weapon and tattoos combination;
robes + melee weapon for pve, robes + mage weapon for pvp +4wit+1wit+4con-5men-4str tats
4. Alliance/Group support;
heart of paagrio / cp cure, non-newbie alliances will say what buffs they want - and they vary a LOT between alliances. (some consider ww useless, others consider it a must, same for shield and m.def)
5. PvE tactics;
attack, steal essence when low hp, pick up drops. buff as least as possible, soul shield for p.def, p.atk buff and that's about all you can afford with these ridiculous mp costs. Unless you have an oop buffer (which I strongly hope you do).
6. PvP tactics;
Single-player: steal essence, steal essence, steal essence, steal essence. Learn what classes to use soul guard against (gives p.def but drains too many mp). Maximizing damage/mp will be your priority, because against most targets you'll run out of mp before they croak.
Learn what seals are necessary against which classes also (like silence vs healers + nukers).
Pratice practice practice practice. OLs have so many skills that are only slightly usefull once in a blue moon that it'll take many many many hours of PvP before you understand what to do against what class. And an OL's level opens up worlds of possibilities. A 75, 77, 78 and 79 OL are all way different in how they work, so you gotta take the 200-300 hours between each skillset to relearn your class.
And yeah like was said, account sharing isn't legal, although generally speaking it's hard to prove so they don't usually bother with it unless the account does something else illegal.
OL is just one of those classes that don't legitly appear to 67 overnight, they take many years to get there hence why we knew it wasn't your account. ^^ And the OL community is usually tight on each server so by the time you hit 67 you'd have met tons of OLs to discuss strategies with.
Sorry Zhanig only first line was for you hehe, rest of the post was for our fresh out of the oven 67 OL, not the one who has been playing for 1000s of hours, 36+ months or 3+ years like me (Talie was started 2nd day Erica opened up, so about same age hehe) ^^
I've seen enough of your posts over the years to know we don't always play our OLs the same, but I also know your playstyle probably works out at least as well as mine.
Wow, you play OL and are clan leader? A real mazochist lol!
What can I say. I read the travel borchures and it said an OL was a leader to be reconded with, so what is a poor shaman to do but to go for it. LOL
I got this to say, at 67.60% right now, this is got to be the hardest puppy to move off the mark without full support of others. We have dagger users that two box that are in their 70's and our tryants and nukers are all well beyond me now. I can't believe I can't figure this **** thing out better.
Well, it is just time and trying. Once I find that area I can solo in, poof, back at it. Just takes time and patience.

Yeah, time and patience. I'm looking at level 79 skills and it's like meh no -_-ing way. Would probably take me some 500ish hours of non-interupted no-deaths playing and some 600-700m in supplies to get from 75 to 79.
Or I could get 70-75 on my sub in about 3 weeks and make money while doing so.
