I decided one day to go and level up my nuker. So I removed my SA and Augment from my +10 BOP and was going to exchange it too a SOV. I make my way down to FP to meet the BOM. I click on him and press "Make and even exchange of weapons" He gives me the choice of exchanging it only for a +10 Bellion Cestus. I said to myself...strange usually I would get more choices. So I clicked on the BC and said to myself "Maybe just maybe I can exchange that for a SOV" So i choose it. Too my surprise I couldn't exchange it for anything!
Boggled and confused I open up a GM petition. All I can say about the petition was that it did not help me at all and the GM did not prove himself right in anyway.
For one yes I made a mistake of trying to exchange the BOP for an SOV. But still that doesn't excuse the fact that I should have been able to exchange it for a SOES, AOBA, DG, and any other weapon of the same crystal count. Which again did not show up when I originally traded the bow. The gm tells me that you also cannot exchange Fist weapons. Well just to say my jaw dropped and asked why. As most people know the usual response to those kind's of questions is...."Sorry but that is part of the game mechanics..." Enfuriated I said to the GM ..."Where does it state that you can not exchange fist weapons at the Mammon and why could I not see anything else in my list. (and yes I tried scrolling up and all that) He again replied..with.. "im sorry...blah blah.. game mechanics"
Not to mention he told me next time to check "www.lineage2.com" to check if the crystal count would be ok next time before making a big step... Anyway even if I had checked the site I wouldn't have found any information about trading fists, or does it still excuse the fact that I wasn't able to pick anything else.
I explained to him that obviously that not being able to pick any other weapons at the original exchange was a glitch. He resonded with.. "sorry our GM's can't reimburse such things". So to me that means that NCSOFT doesn't take care of there customers in which are hurt by there game mechanic flaws and glitches.
If someone can prove me wrong about any of this or about my accusations about a glitch then please be welcome and it would put my mind at ease. On my server a +10 BOP sells for 180 mil (with SA) and a+10 BC sells for almost 80 mil less. So please understand where I am comming from with this post. Once again if anyone can find where I might be mistaken please fill me in because the GM that I spoke with sure couldn't.
If anyone would like to see the converstaion I had with the GM just leave me a message here or at [email protected]

Don't ask GM's about the game, they don't know anything. you came to the right place on the boards, at least we play the game.
Just for future reference, only D and C grade weapons can be exchanged for any other of thier equal value in crystals. B, A, and S grade weapons cannot be exchanged for any other weapons. However, B grade weapons can be exchanged for fist weapons only!
This was done apparently because of the low population of Tyrants (basically the only class that can truly use fist weapons) and difficulty in getting the main mats or weapon itself.
I'm sorry but I think you're out of luck :( . Due to certain circumstances on korean servers they decided to let you exchange B grade weapons for B grade fists only!
As far as I remember it was because the korean gamers had trouble getting hold of enough fists weapons. This update was done in a mid c5 patch. Before that you couldn't upgrade B weapons at all.
Unfortunately the change was never widely known or even needed here in NC NA. I'm not surprised the GM didn't even known about it. I never tried exchanging a B weapon myself. You would think Mammon would warn you in no uncertain terms that you can only exchange B weapons to fists?
Well that twists my knickers a little bit. (no no I don't really have knickers) Besides that yes I do agree that the GM should have known about his patch or atleast have mentioned it to me so that way I wouldn't have put up a fight. Also Mammon should announce that you can only exchange B weapons for fists and so on. Hopefully I can get some kind of sympathetic compensation for this from the GM team :)
You can exchange B Grade weapons (Sword, Bow, Blunt, Polearm) for fist weapons through Blacksmith of Mammon. However, you cannot exchange the fist weapons for another type of weapons. (Arthro Nail and Bellion Cestus are the applicable B Grade fist weapons.)
Even if you had the option to get another weapon (which you couldn't) you wouldn't be able to get Sword of Valhalla anyways. It's low B. You would need to get Wizard's Tear instead~
Gotta say that does suck big time, Mammon should have a little warning message about the B Grade exchange rules. I know if that was me i'd be seriously annoyed.
Charmille, it may be common knowledge for some but unfortunately for others it isn't, hence why it should be pointed out at Mammon.
If i remember correctly when upgrading a weapon like a D or C that has any +++ you are warned that they will disappear, they should have something to warn them about this B grade mess up.
btw even IF it was possible to exchange Bgrade items (now its only possible to trade for fists) BOP is a top Bgrade, SOV is not ;) +10 sov would have been nice tho :)
Not better than a +10 Wizards Tear SKDFJSDLKGJSDFG
This alone makes me not feel so sorry for the OP. You'd figure people would check first if something was fishy and they were giving away their much beloved weapon for one they had no interest in. o.O

So rather than fix the issue of the parts not dropping enough, they do this instead? LAME.
No, the mats drop well enough. It is just that there are not enough tyrants around, so that not enough people actually CRAFT these weapons. That is, when you play a tyrant and walk through Giran, you will not see enough fist weapons being offered by other players. That's why they introduced this mammon option - so that tyrant players can just buy any other B weapon and exchange it for a fist weapon.

its b grade though, recipes are 100% and not enough need for the weapon should really only mean plenty of parts and recipes laying around, therefore you would think it would be cheap enough to craft it.
Do koreans not craft?
Seemed like a strange thing to add.
They craft. But why waste mats on a item that might sell (if it sells at all), for a possible loss or just to break even? Unless they have Tyrant friends or clannies, they probably just npc the mats and recipes.

Actually this comment raises a good point. There is not a warning that a weapon exchange "+++" will disappear. Over-enchants transfer through the weapon exchange. Special Abilities do not transfer with the weapon exchange--that is what the caution note says.
There is a limit though to the OE that will transfer (can't recall exactly what that is....+6?) and I don't believe that is included in the caution.
Overall, Mammon is one of the game mechanics that all newer players have to read a LOT about and then ask tons of questions about--in part because interacting with him is not fully explained (though it's a little better than it used to be).
Yeah i think if ever i'm advising people to use unknown things at Mammon, get there [censored] over to this message board and find out first!
I'm fairly certain (Could be wrong) if your actually upgrading an over enchanted Mid D to a Top D weapon you get warned about the overenchants somewhere. Should be the case on any permenant decisions like that.
You are correct, I believe.
If you are trading a "+4 Staff of Life" for the same crystal count weapon (even exchange), for instance and you want a Glaive---you will receive a +4 Glaive for the +4 Staff of Life.
If you UPGRADE a weapon, for instance you have a +3 Sword of Revolution and want an Elven Long Sword--then the Overenchant on the SOR would be lost.
If you upgrade a weapon, enchantments are lost. If you make an even exchange, enchantments stay. Simple as that. Though you must remove any possible SA and augmentation first of course.
When they put out a new chronicle they also put out info on the new features. It is not NCSofts fault that many players dont read this info. Each player must take steps to protect themself.
