We're seeing the prices getting low every day...
I'm heard some saying that the economy will crash less than a year.
What you think?
Simple market economics, it's not a 'crash', It is just a price correction for a speculatory bubble collapsing.
Basically, All the 'shady' characters bought their gear, and thus the demand for top gear has flattened. In order for the 'suppliers' to 'stimulate demand' among those who are more 'price concious' or induce their previous customers to attempt OE/crystalize/replacement gear they have to reduce their prices.

This need not necessarily apply to "shady" types only. The lack of in-game innovation is what is impacting the market. If many of the new items were available through some other means than a suicide mission on Dino Island, the market would be just as robust as ever.
Basically not only has everyone had their fill of what's being served, but we are tired of eating the same old dish.
Not much diveristy in items, what i see is everyone selling the same thing. What really is happening is there are less players "legit" playing the game. Now if bots can be taught how to buy, then you will have your prices flying.
I think that over 16 months I have played there have been almost cyclical fluctuations.
"Price" is an unreliable indicator of market health or 'robustness' (is that a word?).
There are a finite number of players on a server--which fluctuates.
There are an exact numbers of "mat farmers" on a server (player controlled or automated as they may be)--which fluctuate.
There are trends in player levels--which fluctuate (including rerolls and alts).
There is a specific range of adena in play in the game at any one time (which creates a sort of 'value' per adena)---which fluctuates.
I think the market and prices (in particular) wax and wane. It's a usual progression imo.
If it's a "low cycle"---then buy!!!!!
I saw AA on my server at 2a each monday. Only a very few weeks ago it sold for 6a each. I bought a lot of AA at 2a.
If somebody sells Els's or glaives or SoL's at 3million on my server---I'm going to BUY a couple.
I bought a c-grade weapon the other day for under 3 million!
The prices will correct and at some point as they rise I'll sell.
It is just the looooooooooonger price dropping period I have ever lived :) Majestic gloves and Helm pricing nowadays makes me laugh, the gloves used to cost 45m+ and now you can buy them at 20m...
A) Most players already have their mains (and alts for that matter) in Ag/Sg. What's more, these people already have their caracter decked-out in top gear, so they have no need to buy anything anymore.
B) Most players have "noob gear" laying around in their werehouse to use on any alt they decide to create, thus the demand for Dg, Cg, and Bg is WAY down. (I personally have 5-6 sets of Dg 4 sets of Cg and about 4 sets of Bg armor/ weapons)
C) The game has been out for a long time, people are starting to leave the game because it just isn't fun anymore fighting bots for your leveling grounds or watching Ebayed or botted characters take the hero positions every week after you played your character to Sg! Face it, most people have reached the end-game content, played the end game content, and are now bored.
D)Interlude was a let-down. We got duels and agumentation. Not enough to keep the people coming back for more. Nothing to bring in new players.
So what does this all mean? Prices are not going to go up; for that to happen a number of the items listed above needs to be fixed or altered. As you can see, most of those things listed cannot be changed in any way. Prices are going keep falling, and though they may rise once and a while by a small amount, the general trend of the market is going to go down hill as no one needs to buy anything anymore. The only shops that will get any customers are the soulshot and spirit shot sellers.
My advice to you is wait and see what this next chronicle will bring, if it is anything good you may see something rebound in the market and the game itself might be fun to play again. However, knowing NCsoft, I wouldn't waste too much time hoping.
We now live in the final hours of Lineage 2. The game is getting close to being retired due to the botting IMHO. Markets are not coming back, I challenge anyone to give me a reason why prices should ever rise again.
Nice post Vhaidren, i see friends left the game in Franz and Teon tired of hunting for a spot, die in bot trains by its owners, from the start formation its only me here all left for the bots reason and for a lot of ppl just mass ebay to get everything, since the server first day we worked fast for a objective, raise the clans and get enought money to buy one clan hall in Gludin, when we got first 5kk two weeks after the beginning we just see all the clan halls gone, everything buyed by unlegit ppl, lots have make Lionna transfers to Teon and later from Teon to Franz, im 100% sure about that, a lot of ppl created a main char to level later and make alts for massive run in walk mode in the first weeks to get money, armor, weapons, anything... few days after started running some unlegit chars in AC powerleveling the main chars, now with the mains in Top Grade all in a spot waiting for the trains for fast level, due to all of this a lot of good ppl start leaving, in first Franz week we found a Destroyer lvl 43 with full plated with a pole and a sward all enchanted!!! maybe he just get luck in drops ok...
4 weeks ago a guy asked if we could put it in academy he just got is lvl and did buy a Clan Armor we accepted him for he can use it... three days ago i found that dude in Giran shouting for recruit ppl for the clan he made, now is in full A Grade with a over enchanted weapon...
We found a lot of crap guys running walker in a lot of high areas, we dismissed guys from our clan and reported them with locations, everything and they just still there everydays, we got ppl running massive walker taking off the clan to lvl and rejoining a lot of times, reports... useless again, we got a massive walker party leveling academy ppl in CT for rep. points, reported again and they still there...
I have see good ppl leaving L2 for unnoficial servers, i ask why they will do it and the answer just simple like "there we hunt where we want, when we need and we really work as a team"...
While this in Official Forums some "legit" guy white in a forum...
"I am 100% certain that there are players who bot and ebay in my ally. I am also 100% certain there are players who bot and ebay in each of the major allies on the server. I don't bother to name them because....IT DOESN'T MATTER!"
This is the kind of ppl who permit to kill fun and pleasure the games can offer...
I just hope NcSoft work soon and fast in a good solution to fix all this, the game system permit logs of everything, i believe a simple fast encript code can make the Walker programs stop from run in L2.
I still here, i just love L2 even after 3 years and i still believe Nc fix this issues. If the good ppl still leaving the game the bots and farmers will leave too, and Aden will be just a good memory of fun and friends.
Or is just like a "Wise Guy" say "IT DOESN'T MATTER!"
Your English is fine, and the whole botting/ buying adena or items will never go away. As players start to leave the game, NCsoft must rely more and more on botted characters to provide them with money. We, as players, have contibuted to this problem. It is not just NCsoft that is to blame, it is our fault for buying adena from botters. We have destroyed this game, and it is a pitty because I really enjoyed playing it. However, now it just seems like a big waste of time trying to level my 60-something Phantom Summoner anymore when people I met 7 days earlier in Dg are now approaching Sg and PKing me....
I am waiting to see if the next chronicle changes anything, but I am not holding my breath. Have just about had it with this game.
It is just the looooooooooonger price dropping period I have ever lived :) Majestic gloves and Helm pricing nowadays makes me laugh, the gloves used to cost 45m+ and now you can buy them at 20m...
Well, you didnt have spoilable A-grade helm recs etc. in C3 and so forth, explains quite a bit the drops in some of the item prices.
Well, you didnt have spoilable A-grade helm recs etc. in C3 and so forth, explains quite a bit the drops in some of the item prices.
It is not just the helms, it is everything, trust me. All I do now-a-days is buy and sell to make money for boss jewels/OEed Ag. Everything is plumiting in price: Ag helms, Cg armor, Striders, AA, Bg weaps, D crys, C crys...
The only thing that is still expensive is soulshots and spiritshots.
Maybe on Sieg, but you cant generalize it to hold true on all servers.
Many prices on Teon are climbing, even in A-grade. Only the helmet prices have come down really, boots and gloves have shot up and so have the main pieces for heavy atleast. Tallum is pushing 50m+ and Majestic and NM are close to it. While they've been to under 20m. Boots and gloves from around 7m to as high as 20m.
Also B-crystal prices are way up, with the prices of B-grade weapons also rising, some are alot higher than what they were in C3. Could get a Greatsword for 14mil then, now 22-26mil, gg.
There's also alot of material price fluctuation, which imo shows that there's lots of crafting going on.
And the Boss jewel prices have gone up, altho now they seem to have met the current, stable prices. Same for 11-13lvl crystals, were down alot at one point, now climbing madly.
But hey, economies between a light(Sieg) and a heavy(Teon) server differ from the start since the number of players is different.
In Devianne it has come to madness, you can see a clean Damascus being sold more expenssive than an OEd Elysian, B Crystalls and Bss are going uphill, seen Bss for 92a while *** have gone down to 100a. DLE used to cost 120m now it has gone down to 90m, I like that as I am a SK but the stage 12 crystalls cost 70m :P . Empower scrolls used to cost 1,8m, now you can see ppl with un-spellable names selling hundreds of these scrolls for 600k, how did they get hundreds of empower scrolls from one event? Others are selling hundreds of ToI papyrus, or inferium ores...
I though economy would be healthy again after interlude but this did not happen, hopefully it will in the next update... *crosses fingers*
Empower scrolls used to cost 1,8m, now you can see ppl with un-spellable names selling hundreds of these scrolls for 600k, how did they get hundreds of empower scrolls from one event?
Thats an easy one.. The Paper/Rock/Sicssors game. I got over 100 scrolls from that event alone. I didnt win anyhing but L2Day Scrolls from that event (**** cat.. he cheats i swear)
But in regards to the Dama going for more than the OE'd Eylsian , the Dama recs are waaay harder to get then the Elysian and most end up being blown up by +'ing them up the wazoo, either by Duals - man +8 Dama * Tallum ::drool::, or by ppl wanting an A Grade calibur weap that has focus on it. And more ppl use swords than blunts so there's more of a market for Swords.
And yes, i've recently bought A Crys for 11K and i had to pay like 10K for B Crys .. how do you explain that one. Oh well, guess you have to go with the market sistuation :)
...despite the fact that they are NPC makable lower.
But you know, people just don't care. .
The one and only time I "scammed" someone was in C3 when they introduced one of the new spells, I believe it was Solar Flare. I had just happened to be in the Giran Bookstore and noticed it on the seller's list when someone shouted "WTB Solar Flare SB".
So I sent them a PM, asked how much they were offering, they said 300k... I purchased the book from the NPC for about 5k, met them in front of the Church and made the trade, earning a neat 295k profit.

Some people.
LOL. Thats not even close to a scam. If thats a scam, then noone should ever buy from a grocery store. Heck, dont ever buy from any store, because I guarantee they paid less for the item you are buying. You were simply providing a service. They were too lazy to run to the book store, and you were charging 295k for delivery charge.
Hence my use of "quotes" around "scam". It's not -really- a scam, to be sure, but it was... well, less than honest to some, I would think.
Perhaps it was Solar Spark, as I said, I don't remember. The point is, was a new spell, they apparently thought it was drop-only... the rest is history.
The reason b is becoming pricier than a is the recipe drops. You can spoil the recs for most a-grade armor now, the weapons are relatively simple to collect the coins for, and the blades are spoilable. Now look at b-grade. No quests for helmet recipes (quests for other recs are 60%), few (no?) recipes for armor and weapons are spoilable. The only weapon rec quest gives 60% recs and you get a random rec. Blades are mostly also unspoilable making them rare. On lionna top b blades cost more than many a-grade blades.
Simply put, NCSoft has put a system into place where a-grade is easier to obtain than b-grade. This has allowed b-grade prices to remain steady while everything else plummets.
The market is crashing becasue the farmers control the economy. You can say whatever you want, but if the farmers were to not log on one day, Giran would be empty and everyone would raise their prices to insane numbers due to no competition. Farmers control the prices on everything, and the servers/game as well.
There are illegit /vendor's in giran all over the place, selling eveyrthing from full armor sets to mats to weapons, to dyes, to enchant scrolls, to L2Day scrolls, to shots. Everything. I've seen enough of them get up and instantly sit back down after I brought their last Enchant Weapon Scroll or last couple k of Spiritshots - with a full store of more EWD/C, EAD/C/B, and more shots.
There is a illegit vendor in Barts near the door going down the steps towards Warehouse that always has a Homu, Homu/Acc, and other weapons in his inventory. And the minute you buy one (brought a Homu/Ac for my roomate) he gets up, puts another one up and sits down with a full store. He has the cheapest prices in Giran for these weapons (at lest 500k less than anyone else), and you wonder why legit players cannot get suitable returns for their investment (unless they OE it to +7 or higher, no one will buy a Homu form a non-farmer unless they eb@*** the adena and don't care about it, or they just don't give a <blank>).
The market is controlled by the farmers - and I'm pretty sure their 24/7 spoilers are outspoiling any other dorfs on the server.
And people make it like NCSoft makes so much money off bots. They don't make money off 80% of the bots in game. Most of those accounts are trial accounts tht exist only for the purpose of supporting the paid account (and you never know which of the 9 is the paid account) and the characters poof on day 13 after the farmers get their gear and adena off of them. That's probably why NCSoft doesn't even bother looking at 90% of the complaints. They don't benefit from those accounts and would lose more than they gained if they wasted the resources investigating them.
The only bot accounts worth petitioning to GMs are the ones with readable names - those are most likely accounts being PowerLeveled to be sold. Keep a list, or you may end up recruiting a few to your clan, LOL.
Oh, and another thing. I PLed an SO/SE to 56 in 17 days using my roomate's and my necros (45 and 55 at the time, respectively). I'm sure a botted account can be PLed to S Grade in aabout 4-5 weeks (being botted 24/7 except for tuesday downtimes). So 7x doesn't equate to years of playtime - some people act like it does.

Not true. If there were no farmers then prices would drop. The only reason people sell stuff and insane prices is because there are sooo many people buying adena. If there were no farmers then there would be no adena to buy. If there was no adena to buy then guess what...
We could get into the whole "how farmers / bots / ebayers ruin the game" discussion, but then the thread gets locked.
The only reason why the Adena sellers can continue to make money selling adena is because they are able to undercut legit players on prices and influence the market in such a way that they are able to keep their endless cycle flowing. They sell the adena to players and get their adena back by selling to the players who brought the adena items they acquired (or acquired the mats for) while farming the adena they sold them. They are basically selling, reacquiring, and reselling their own adena.
Remove them from the situation, and you remove both the adena, and the items they craft/buy low/whatever from the game. This will result in certain items becoming alor rarer, and considerably more expensive than they currently are.
You will not only be paying for the gear, but you will also be playing for legit players' time and effort in acquiring the items they sell you. People aren't going to be selling A/S grade items at 60% success (for the most part) at low prices just because... They sell it at those prices now because the farmers force them to undercut them at a deficit, or not stand a chance in the "free market" of L2.
I don't see the logic in what you say, really.
If there is no adena to buy, it just means the legit player will have to do what the legit player has always done. Farm adena, manor, play the market.
But... At least it will be a legit market.
Supply and Demand says that if the farmers disappear, the market will look alot different. They have ruined it with their endless supply of Top C/B/A mats/gear/weapons on botted /vendors in Giran.
Prices are crashing due to supply in demand.
In bartz farmers are dumping tons of mats S A and B grade recs are so amazing cheap its sick. What that dose it makes crafters go on over drive if the mats recs and parts are so cheap. This has a cascade effect more cheap armor is being dumped i know cause in the pass week i made 6 tallum gloves 7 maj boots 1 maj pa 1 maj la 1 soul bow 3 kris and i cannot sell them. I have to practally sell them near cost to get rid of them. Everyone is cutting there prices to sell there gear.
Its a buyers paradize if u got the funds buy buy buy.
If u want to change current trends back to the good old days u need to halt crafting production.
Caslte owners need to stop enria o.ore iron thons leather bones. If they do that no more weapons and armor will be made causeing existing armor and weapons to increase in value.
As of now all castle owners are allowing farmers to flood with enria a cheap 45k was 75k in c5 o.ore is now 9k was 18k in c5.
Look at the supply and u see there is no demand.
No demand means everything is worthless.
Kill clan armor to revitalize d grade armor market. Kill shadow weapon coupons revitalize d c and b grade weapons sales.
The new changes in the passed two upgrades had the worst impact in the adena market. So blame the game designers they didnt think about the market when they decided to make those changes.

I see no dis honor in that. When people are in such a hurry that they can't go to devils isle and farm the book, gaining xp adena and mats in the process, it usually means the person gets their adena/gear "by outside game means". There are several sites that point out where the book drops as well, so thats not an excuse either. So, no I don't see this as a scam, I see it as someone taking advantage of someone trying to cheat their way thru the game.

I tried to hunt my own level 44 Necro books but unfortunately the deep red level 50+ 2-4X HP mobs in EV with High P.Atk/P.Def/M.Atk/M.Def were much > than me.
I went back with a group of 42-48 and it took so long to kill every mob that the group decided it wasn't worth the XP (you aren't gaining any Adena, you're losing adena cause everything is a 4-12 shot and with C Grade weapon those pitiful 1-2k adena drops are pennies on the dollars spent...
Good idea in theory, but not in practice.
Some spellbooks you have to buy - or waste thousands+++ adena trying to get them (possibly losing xp in the process).
really, the d-grade market wouldnt look all that different if you removed the farmers. Players just wouldnt be in top d grade at level 20. Which is the case now. And d-grade prices are going up. Simply because new players dont have a shot at buying the d-grade stuff and they can't sell any thing but top or next to it. If there were no farmers and the market wasnt filled with top d weapons. New players could sell their mid lower whatever d-grade equipment. That is impossible atm. So they have to buy top D at 3.3million(teon), which is impossible to farm before the 30's. This is the reason for clan oath armor and shadowweapons. NCsoft realized that its killing the game. People actually think they HAVE to buy adena online to play this game.... which is really sad.

Indeed, you can't buy anything but Top DG in the shops...the shops are bulking with any non Top DG weapon or armour, it's just that every newbie wants that top gear, it's not like they really need it.
In my opinion, the more time a newbie spendss in DG, the better he or she will understand the base difficulty of this game at CG.
at 3.3million(teon), which is impossible to farm before the 30's.
Actually its not impossible all you need is a good manor and some friends that wanna earn some money too and help you. With there help you wont need best equipment and beside that the mithril set you can buy at the shops will work fine if you dont get Clan amor.
How to do it ? Its easy buy red coda seeds at lvl 20 and go to the necropolis of sacrifice. Plant seeds on the mobs there ( first rooms ) you will get 7-9 crops per seed.
Now if the manor pays 200 per crop you get 1 varnish per crop ( if they only pay 100 you will need 2 crops per varnish ) one varnish sells for 700-1000 atm. So in the best case you get 9k worth of varnish per mob plus sealstones or adena drops (300-500 ). It wont take to much time to gain that amount of money.
Also if you really outlevel you can still delevel yourself a little or get an alt do more manor with your equip you already have.
Yeah but sure its impossible if you dont want to work for it.
I know its possible to get it cheaper in alot of different ways. But there are very few new players who ding 20 and know who mammon is.. what manor system is and so on. Its killing the game for new players, period. Hence the reason NCsoft introduced clan armor and shadow weapons.
Ok anyone who thinks that farmers keep prices down are just kidding themselves. I have seen to many times where farmer toons by out a certain item in town then raise the price. Then they only sell so much at a time creating a shortage on the item to increase profits. I know real players do it also but not as much as farmers.
When you have a healthy server population with alot of pees selling their stuff in shops it makes it harder for the farmers to set the prices. Farmers want the most adena they can get if demand is low and they have an abundance and are getting short on space they will unload them at cheaper costs to stimulate sales.
Look on Bartz now D weapon enchants seling for 300k at times and the Weapons selling for 2.9-3.1 mil. They sell more enchants at that price and as a side result the sell more weapons to peeps who fail who blow up their weapons. If you look at the past economies on all servers you will see different items selling for cheap and others selling for outrageous prices. If the farmers cannot set the prices they prefer on a item and still sell them they will drop the prices and flood the market with them. That way it discourages others from farming the items cause it wouldnt be worth it to spend that time farming for a lower reward.
If you're new, you should learn about the game. There's tons of info around, cant blame anyone but yerself if you dont use it.
I personally suggest manoring to all and every new academy member we get.
Seeding can be rediculasly confusing to new players, took me around 4 days of continuous reading to finally figure out how to get the seeds, and another week to figure out how I was supposed to turn them in for mats. (I would always go to the manor NPCs and try to sell it but couldn't, found out later you had to get there and turn yer crap in within about 2 seconds of the restart of the manor-days to beat all the bots and other players)
Most normal players will not make 3-4 mil on their own before lvl 30, unless they get lucky on a raid.
Well I got lucky when I discovered the manor. I was able to cash in on some seeds when there was not alot of activity for them and then it was hard to say the least getting the timing down for them. There is one BIG problem right now that faces new players and that is not misbelieve that they have to level fast and be end gme to enjoy anything. It is very realistic to make 5+ mil by the time you hit 30.

Yea, most normal players will spam their adena down the drain and not even pay attention to the different ways of generating income.
And manor is not complicated. Took 15mins for the few _totally_ new academy members that are playing L2 for the first time to understand it.
Manor has changed quite alot from C3 times, I bet that it would take me some time to set up a manor if we had a castle as we did back then, but it is not complicated. Unless you skip all the text and just try to be done with it in 2 secs. And for the seeders, it is easier too imo.

Last I recalled solar flare drops down in devils isle right when you get out of the water. I just got done grinding in ev with my th and never saw solar flare as a drop. Your'e wasting money even porting there.
easy point. If the economy worked for new players, there wouldnt be shadow weapons, equipment exchange and so forth. Fact of the matter is.. it doesn't. And there is no in game hit to use manor system. And the fact remains that if players don't find the game fun, they stop playing. Then everyone is free to rant all the want about how they should read which ever guides and so forth.
Most new players in L2 give up, those that get chineese sponsers might make it, but they will prolly quit when the money is gone.
And really, standing next to 234nkdfh, lhif232 and h0ledhh in Dark Elven village as your first encounter with "other" players isnt exactly selling this game.
