Warcryer-Please advise me...

Player Questions Started Last reply 3 posts
Hi all.

I know this is an over discussed issue, but all these Warcryer threads have blurred me...

I have a lvl40 Warcryer. Spending all the money I had from my main bishop, I crafted a demon's robed set (I read somewhere that it is one of the best choices), and I have my bishop's raid*raid.

Now, I understand that, to be a nuker with the robes, I need an ACU weapon, or to be a meeler with the duals, I need heavy armor...

I hate resting, and I saw that the set I had till 39 (clan robes-mithril dagger), was the fastest way to xp...

Can you please advise me what is the best out of these two choises, and what I should do?
Sell the duals, sell the robes, or leave them as they are?
Which is the most efficient choice for a WC?

Being a healer all the time, made me wanna be as deadly as I can be with my WC :p

And, last (sorry for being such a pain), what tattoo's are suittted for each case?

Thanks a lot guys
Sounds like you have duals, and that is fine for C grade. Daggers are a good option at higher levels, but duals will still work. Most people just melee WCs. You will mostly party buff and probably melee, although I doubt you'll be doing much party buffing until maybe 60s. Until then, if you solo very much or otherwise get much aggro, you'll probably find Heavy Armor to be your best bet, at least in C grade. You won't have to use your drains as often to stay alive that way, so you won't spend as much time regenerating mana. (And you'll die less often when an aggro mob spawns while you already have 2 on your hands.)
If you solo:

Light Armor + 1H Mage sword w/Acumen if you want to DoT then melee.

Light Armor OR Heavy Armor + Dagger/Duals/2H Sword if you want to mostly melee without DoTing.

If you party:

Robes + 1H Mage Weapon with Acumen
Light armor + 1H Mage weapon with Mana Up. (Or possibly conversion...)
Light Armor + Melee weapon. (Duals/dagger/2H sword)

For a WC, a shield is really only useful to take up a hand location when using a 1H weapon. Your seldom going to evade without one, and you'll seldom block with one as well. Thus a shield is really only useful for the basic block rate versus archer mobs. Any other shield/magic blocks you get should be considered 'extras' and not a driving reason to use one.

The only Tattoo I would consider with a WC would be a -CON +STR to increase your melee damage. And even then would hesitate to tattoo up. Alternately, if you were in a large party constantly, where your damage isn't a significant factor, then a -STR +CON tattoo would be more appropriate. I don't consider DEX a good stat to modify for a WC.

On the INT/WIT/MEN side of things, I'm more of a 'hands off' type. You can't touch INT (Outside of armor sets) but there are few skills you have that WIT is worthwhile for. And to increase WIT you need to hit MEN, which is your main strength. (MP regen, not total MP) With a Acumen weapon, Robes and Chant of Flame your casting speed is going to be 'good enough' for most eveything anyway. Even w/o robes or robe bonuses the slower cast speed isn't that big of a deal. (Your looking good if you have a light armor with +Cast speed though.)

Personally?

I'd get rid of the Demon robes, and go with Divine(MP) or Karmian(Cast Speed) if you party. (Assuming you have all the set pieces.)

If you solo (And have all set parts) then Plated Leather is the best for C grade, with Theca coming in well after that. Your Evasion is low enough that I don't think the +4 evasion of Tempered Mithril is worthwile even after buffs.

You could also go w/heavy if you solo, although the C grade set effects for heavy are pretty weak for a WC. You could probably take any of the heavy armor and do just fine there.

If your Split between party and solo, then I would go Light armor with the mage weapon. (MP up preferred, but Acumen if nothing else.)

C grade is going to go by pretty fast though, so I would start to plan for B grade already. (Personally, BW light is the best set for that to my mind.)
