WTB Reasons for continue play L2

Player Questions Started Last reply 49 posts
That is a seirous question guys. I'm pretty new on these forums but i play l2 since c2.

After many server and char rerools, i really don't see many reasons to continue play l2. Maybe it's becouse in the server i'm playing atm i have a little amount of friends, maybe i need some time off, but what i trully don't like much these days is the grind on l2. The pvp? Awesome! The grind partys? Comm'on i don't remember to see a game that boring on this part, and even make big partys don't worth the time taht much so people is usually doing 2-3 mans partys under 65.

Please i would like to know why the guys that play the game so much time (or even more) as me keep playing. Have you ever took a time off?
hmm WTS reason Castle siege /pvp /epic raids
that about what i can think off but am 2 kind of "tired" of grinding especiially when i reroll the 1-40 grind is a [censored] imho
People taking time off from the game isn't an uncommon thing....

Matter of fact i feel if you are asking yourself, Why. Then you are in much need of a game vacation. Take a step back and look around some. See if L2 still has what you are looking for or see if another game holds your interests more.
just dont go wow or we have 2 kill you !!!!
Theirs nothing wrong with wow.... I know i've been thinking.

ohw god where losing him HELP !!!!!!!!

there is something wrong with wow 2 freaking easy kiddie game

BUT all my m8 play it you are lv.60 in 2 months (i know its not max lv anymore)looks cartooney (i dont like it most of the time)
biggest community etc etc :/

l2 pro >noob wow
Because I got a Cranage Bow as a drop Yesterday!! First full drop I have gotten in 3 chronicles
Celebrity, the way you feel is more than normal.
L2 needs patience as we all know.
its an MMO and with just a few friends its difficult to play the game as it should be played.
the problem is that in private forums/fansites, there are more and more goodbye posts day by day, and less coming-back / new player messages.
im wishing you the best, on whatever your decision will be.

Have fun
I still have 45 days payed and will keep around for taht time. If i don't find any reasons to stay i will pbb quit for a while.

Till now only thing i can say is that i don't like l2 in the way it is.

Today some friends gone into a cata for poling and saw the usual "automated" (to not say another word) party in a room and took their place. 5 mins later 3 unclanned th's shows up with a wc and se (both obviously also automated) and pked us 4. They were only using full a grade. While we were the b noobies.

It's hard to be a fair player these days. But there is nothing i can do about this except petition and hope something has been done.
look it from their way they wanna make money and some dudes are killing their money making machines ^^ i know it suxs that but the truth you can have alot of fun do it with that put in d grade go in branded pk some bots then c grade th and few healers come and then put on your b grade :) and pvp ftw

I don't think that that is a reason to quit as all major games have that problem.

However, I do see a point to the post.

I did take a break for a while but I had some cool real life stuff happening.

However, I am very dissapointed with the way the game has gone in that I don't see much that is of interest to me in any of these updates.

The developers have had a bit of a reprieve as there haven't really been any games to really give L2 a run for their money.

However, there are other pvp games coming out. Age of Conanan, Warhammer to name two. There is also Sun on the horizon.

Now, the PvP on these game might not appeal to the hardcore player but I wonder how large the Hardcore demographic is?

Lineage 2 has given us more of the same in many ways. I play the game pretty much the same as when I started. I can easily see people getting tired and just wanting to do something different.

Lineage 2 does have a great community that is a plus. But eventually you are just going to want something different.

For me, I haven't been excited about an update since C2.

If thrones 1 (or whatever it is called) isn't compelling enough then I can't see myself continuing, though I like the people quite a bit.
Really thats the only reason I keep turning my account back on. I like talking to everyone. :p
I know what you mean man, I am leaving too I think. This game's bots and the crappy changes NCsoft introduced in C5/Interlude have ruined it. I loved this game, but I am starting to get disguested at having to train a room of bots everytime I want to grind. That and the economy is about to totally crash on many servers.

Waiting for Chaotic throne before I walk away completely, but WoW is looking better and better all the time.
I had a discussion with a coworker yesterday. I told him at this point if wow wasnt so **** ugly I would be all over it. I love this game. But it just isnt what it use to be. :p

Im not trying to be a downer here really. Just dont get the same level of enjoyment that I use to from this game. ;)
Nah, I don't think I could ever play WoW, I agree: It is really ugly looking. I don't want to be a downer either, L2 is supposed to be fun. The problem is, it isn't fun.
What other choices do we have at this point? It seems everyone is putting out worthless junk. I thought we were in the "Nex-Gen" But I havent seen anything to impressive lately. I think its about time for me to dust off the xbox 360. Im a huge Grand theft auto fan and gta 4 is not far off now. ;)
Well, I was super excited for Lord of the Rings Online. Seemed like a great setting for an MMO... but it failed horribly.

I am just gonna leave the MMO community for a while until something worthwhile comes out. *shrugs* For now I think I am going to wait for Assassin's Creed and Lair to come out for the PS3.

*Starts playing Oblivion*

It is really ugly looking.

It's all in the eyes of the player. I myself think it looks good for the type of game it is.
well it is looking good for l2 with the new siege thing etc

but i agree there are many downsides and after you played it alot (i played since c2) you get tired :< sad but true

It is really ugly looking.

It's all in the eyes of the player.

Well no kidding...

Have you ever took a time off?

Too many times to count, and I'm about to take another. Just received word from the President and Managing Partner (talk about your truly Epic Raid Bosses) that we'll be opening a new office in Denver in the next few months, and my team was chosen to help get the foundation in place. I only wish that they had opened an office in Miami or Honolulu. Oh well.

As for the grind, yes, it sucks. (Sorry, there's just no other way to put it.) The developers really are losing sight of how to marry "challenge" with "entertainment".

If you've reached wit's end, a break may be the best thing for you as well.
Oh come on now. You will enjoy Denver! Thats my hometown. I really miss it. ;)

Sorry, not a slam against Denver, I'm sure it's a nice city. But I have lived near the ocean my entire life and the thought of spending Summer and some parts of the Fall inland is anathema to me.
Play because it's fun. o.O If you don't enjoy it anymore, quit.

As for enjoying it - stop thinking about your level and start setting smaller goals maybe, i.e. completing a quest instead of gaining that 5% that take forever. RP a bit (if you're the type), make some money. Just do whatever you fancy, and if you don't fancy grinding at the moment, then don't. ^^
i really think the grind lv shouldnt be lowerd or else its just like wow 0_* every1 is freaking top lv etc thats not cool only when you grind 2 long youwill be SG thats how it should imho

Well thanks for joining the conversation. That is exactly what some of us are discussing.
dude i have played since OB, i take a couple of months off like every 3-4 months, and it's awesome. Then when i come back it's all new again. And maybe if you don't have a lot of friends on the server... maybe you should switch or something, cause the people are the real reason to stay ingame
Time off is a good thing, but all in all, if you are not the powerleveler alot of the heroes are, then you do need something else in the is game, for sure.

personally, I have been investing in the clan. doing scrubs for rep points, trying to get the drops at those strange levels for our newer memebers, etc. While my main toon is taking more time to get to 68, I am finding that I am having a grand time with other facets of the game.

I do wish they woudl offer single toon server transfers or account tranfers.
Im not sure if it would just be the server I play on. It could be. You see I have no real desire to get to the end game fast. So a player like me makes friends and those friends pass right by me. There is no low or mid level content for the most part. Im expecting the smart *** comment from someone "Well your playing the wrong game." I like to think that theres more than one way to play this game. But im not so sure thats true.
I agree with you, Nos. I'm in no rush to get to the end-game content. I might one day, eventually make it to S grade on one of my toons, but don't ask me when that will be.
LOL that will be in 20 years looking @ your alts :P you could have been freaking lv.200 by now :)

It's not just the alts, but the limited time that I have to play. I know quite a few people who have alts and alts with subclasses that are 75+. For them the grind is everything. Me, I play the market some, and chat when I'm not playing the market or hunting. Some days I don't even XP, just log in to see what's new.

me 2 :) nothing wrong with that imo i could play the market for weeks tbh^^
Well, for me it's not really the idea of getting to "end game". And the grind has never bothered me at all.

For me it's that we've been doing the same thing for 3+ years. I've discovered other modes of gameplay (like doing quests that are actually fun) in other games and it's kind of nice to have a task to do that is enjoyable that is not the same thing "over and over".

And since this is a pvp game and sieging is supposed to be a major point to the game (it's one of the larger reasons I am playing it) I feel that the pvp side has gone a bit stagnent.

I realize that this is going to be addressed in the next update and I really hope they make a good start of it. Otherwise they are going to start losing players to the other pvp games that are coming out (though whether they stay there is another thing entirely).

I agree with you, Nos. I'm in no rush to get to the end-game content. I might one day, eventually make it to S grade on one of my toons, but don't ask me when that will be.

/Clears throat :)
I take 'vacations', during my recent time off, I've bounced around between World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings, etc.....

now I'm back and have a somewhat renewed determination to at least make it to lvl 75 before the next vacation, because at least in my experience, even though I was playing other games while I was on my vacation, I found myself longing for L2, found myself missing certain elements that are only found in L2, etc.

edit:

Nah, I don't think I could ever play WoW, I agree: It is really ugly looking.

I though that too initially. Then I went to WoW and I stand corrected. It's a good game, in some cases L2 is better, in some WoW is. It's just different. Hell, I'm still impressed by the way they've designed the Gnome area in the Ironforge. That's incredible IMO.
I think its more along the lines of finding the class you love.
Had an SK got him to 61 and I wasnt liking him anymore cuz I could never win a PVP just cuz I sucked and it wasnt the class for me.

I re-rolled to a sorc(not the best class) but I win alot of PVP fights and its just easier on my 2nd toon with gear ready and stuff and im just more of a nuker than a fighter.

Maybe you should try that
Same here Nos. From the list of toons in your sig I can see that you play the same way that my son and I do, same as the rest of my clan. There are only 4 of us now. All the others that joined the clan over time have moved on, kind of like we were a waystation or something. We don't mind really. The 4 of us have been playing together since.......well since we started. We all worked for the same company, though my son has moved on. We are in no hurry to get to end game. We just play and have fun. I have so many alts that some times its hard to decide who to log in. We figure that as long as we are having fun then what the hell, right?

Would be nice to find a couple more people that play the same way and get them into the clan. But so far, they all just move on. But we are still there and will be till they shut the server down.
IMHO Take a Brake, why Play your salf Borde. if the game is losing its tuch to you, its cuz you are over playing you salf. Let yoursalf have fun in a new way.

Same here Nos. From the list of toons in your sig I can see that you play the same way that my son and I do

Its even worse than that lol. I have 2 accounts. Both of them each have the 7 slots filled on Hindemith. :)
Ok, not trying to play one up here but, my son and I have 4 accounts between us and I think there are only 2 open slots left over all....maybe 3......can you say "Get a life"? lol

edit: However! I can proudly state that between us we have played just about every class there is in the game. Which in the long run I think, has given us better knowledge of the game. and a whole lot of fun. I think we haven't done OL/WC and Destroyer yet....but give us time......lol
oh well you got me beat. :p

I keep saying that I'll roll an Orc class one day, but it hasn't happened yet. Maybe subclass, if and when?????
Once you go ORC, you cant stop. ^^
Well, I have played many mmos in the past 6+ something years and I think the problem with L2 is. After you reach 60 something, the game just becomes too much of the same. Up until that point, the grind is moving and its fun. But then it just starts going so slow that most people simply reroll or quit. I think most the of signatures agree with me here, hehe. And Lineage II has no new content for the mid levels so people start to hate the mid levels.

I also totally agree on the bot problem. Not only do you have to find good exp spots, you also have to deal with automated grind machines that pretty much shuts down exp'ing in certain areas if you arent a big group that can take on the bots. Catacombs are pretty much offlimit for most players / parites. I even managed to talk some of my online mmo friends to come check out the game. So we made a decent sized party and there really only is catacombs for us to exp in... what happens? First off all, bots everywhere.. so we spent alot time every night just looking for a place to exp. And when we finally found a spot, we had other high level players training us with mobs all the time cause they were "farming" bots... made them slowly but surely quit the game and I really can't blame them.

But there is atleast one bot account for every real player account. So its good money for certain people. I'd say that the bots are my biggest turn off lineage II wise. Atleast in wow they are hidden in instances hehe.
You know it's time to take a break when the game tells you, "You've been playing too long. Please take a 1 month break."

I didn't read what everyone else posted but here's my answer. The grind can burn me out so I often take breaks. Sometimes it is a total break, sometimes just break from grind and run shops, and sometimes just go away. So take a break now but come back for Kamael. Is that coming around November 11? Maybe sooner? It looks like a major content is being added with a new race and a new landmass.

LOL funny stuff man :D
I've taken one voluntary break, well, from grinding atleast. Crafted and played the market for one month, 0 exp during that time. Boy did the exping feel nice after that.

And now, after a year mostly away due to work, exping is sooo fun. Especially in all the new places(I kinda missed C5 ^^) and using all the new skills, doing new quests etc.

That is a seirous question guys. I'm pretty new on these forums but i play l2 since c2.

Celeb, what were the reasons that you started playing L2 for in the first place? Have these reasons changed?
