A sense of humor

It makes life tolerable. It makes life worthwhile. It flavors all events, and gives color to our existence. I could wax on forever, but… enough of this.
The grind in l2 is a killer indeed, so you NEED to lighten the load, by having some fun and not taking things SO seriously.

What I am getting to is… where’s your sense of humor when it comes to playing l2? And WHAT is your sense of humor like?

I saw a thread on a specific server section about funny/silly things happening in l2, and I loved it! So why not replicate it here, and share funny stories that span all servers?

I am definitely getting my bit of fun from the game in all sorts of ways, that some might find funny, others might find simply weird, so here it goes, you can shoot me later…

Story 1 – Ignorance

At around lvl30, as Human Mage. I am in party with my friendly clan orc Nt3r3kis. Just b4 we start killing mobs…

Nt3r3kis: “Well, we don’t have a buffer, but cast Shield and Might on me. It will help.” So I do.

Nt3r3kis: “Now cast them on you.”
I
Me: “What do you mean ON ME? I CAN’T cast them on me!”

Nt3r3kis: “Jeez! You mean you spent 30 levels WITHOUT knowing you can target yourself and self-buff???!!!” And then he proceeds to make a fool out of me in clan chat! Hahahaha!

Did I feel an idiot or what? Fun for all the family! :-D

Story 2 – Hatchling death panic. :o

I managed to do the hatchling quest, so I finally got a cute wind pet that one day will become a fearsome dragon. Well… one day. Because for now, it’s a lovable, fluffy little hatchling that does close to zero damage to 35lvl mobs, and can be killed with a couple of blows. Lovely! At least it purrs in a cute way.
So I decide to go level the thing, and I stock up with consumables like hatchling food, hatchling armor and weapon, pet SS, BSSC, SSC, SOE, blah, blah… forgetting one VEEERY vital item. Namely pet rez scrolls.

Up in Brecka Orc territory, anchoring mobs, having my pet kill them in a safe manner, until out of nowhere an orc spawns, attacks and kills my hatchling in an instant! Yikes!
So I kill the orc, frantically open up inventory, finding that I carry not a single pet rez scroll! PANIC!

At least I am lucky enough to have a SOE, so fast and furious SOE (dead pet comes along) to Giran, notice where the hatchling corpse lies, franticly running to WH to get a pet rez scroll, dodging sitting dwarf sellers, swearing loudly at the screen. Finally get pet rez, run back, and rez my loveable –but totally useless in battle- pet from where I’ve left it, before the corpse starts smelling and my pet disappears for good. Phew! That was close.

Story 3 – Locations NOT to duel.

I love the new dueling system. It takes the negative energy out of pvp, and sharpens your skills, without you losing valuable exp. But there are things to do in duel, and things NOT to do, especially if you are dueling in some dodgy locations.

Out in Forsaken plains, I duel with my fellow clan dwarf, Tsoglani. I cast Anchor, it sticks. Haha. I run circles around Tsoglani, not nuking. Then I decide to cast Fear for fun. It sticks. Anchor withers. Tsoglani starts running out of control towards the cliff. Omg! Abort! Abort!
I am shouting in green party talk “where are you going? Nooo! The cliff! Look out!”

But she can’t find the abort key, neither can I.
So, she falls down this really high cliff, and then runs straight at some mob group. PANIC!

I follow her down the cliff, hitting mobs that are attacking her as she finally finds the button to abort the duel. Hahaha!

Story 4 – Surreal role play. :p

A clan party (me, Nikaria, and BigBabol) in Forsaken Plains. As we r nuking shamans, BigBabol decides to bring along his buffer. So, he logs in his toon, which stays outside the party, and starts buffing. We were already in silly mood, so I turn to the buffer and start talking to him in white chat, like he’s not my clan mate’s alter ego, but some random player.

-Hey, who the hell are you, and why r u buffering me? Begging to get on the party, are we now? Shoo!

BB decides to play along, so he speaks through the toon…

-I’m just being friendly mister.

-We don’t “do” friendly here “mister”. Move along now. Go build a sand castle or something.

-If I build a castle, can I join the group?

-Only if it has a moat.

-Ok.

-Now leave us be.

We continue to party, sometime later the toon approaches again, so I speak in green party talk.

-Oh-oh! It’s the annoying guy, coming towards us. Pretend that you can’t see him, he’s only trouble.

Buffer toon in white: -Hey, the castle is ready. Can I join the group?

Me in white: -The wind sure makes weird noises here in FP.

Buffer toon in white: -It’s not the wind, its’ me, your friend.

Me in white: -Well hi there lil’ fellow. What’s up?

Buffer toon in white: -The castle is ready. Can I join?

Me in white: -Come on! Stop begging… hmmm, does it have a moat?

Buffer toon in white: -Yep.

Me in white: -Oh well, I can’t be mean to you anymore. You aim to please. I got a deal for you… we can’t take you in the group cause you’ll cripple our exp, but we can let you buff us, and be our friend... for free! How do you like that then?

Buffer toon in white: -Thank you mister! Thank you so much.

I know. It’s silly, point taken, the last story might be neighboring dangerously with Alzheimer’s disease… But since we are always nice and civilized, the only way that we can play mean, without really being mean, is in role play... amongst ourselves. ;-)

So, what’s your funny story in l2? What happened to you, in game that made you laugh till you cried? Want to share it with everyone, even if it’s truly embarrassing?!
I have three quick ones:

Watch that cliff:

I have a friend who I spend a lot of time with levelling, we've been in the same clans for like forever. Anyhow we now have a standing joke due to the fact that whenever we are levelling and there is a cliff nearby he almost always falls off it. We'll be in party and the next minute I'll be typing "where have you gone?" answer is normally "down here"

Oooo look a RB:

One day I saw Shacram just outside of Hunters Village. I decided to get some info on him and clicked on him to read what it said. At the same time I was distracted by my boyfriend (in same room also playing but somewhere else in game) answered what he asked me and clicked my mouse again where to my horror my 56 Orc ran at him and smacked him with her sword - Shacram promptly turned on me and and as I ran for the cliff, followed me over it and pounded me at the bottom.

Naked dances for all:

Out with my clan one day and whilst in Hot Springs decided it would be funny to perform a 'naked dance' with my BD. I removed her weapon and armor and jokingly began my dance - a second later I was 2 shot by a War Tag who I hadn't noticed before beginning :D

Me: “What do you mean ON ME? I CAN’T cast them on me!”

It took me freaking weeks to find this out in OB, and then eventually someone told me it as a "secret tip". Recently I also explained to a clannie that she could assist me automatically by double-right-clicking my name... little did I know all along she had not been using an assist macro but targeting mobs manually! x.x
Whats wrong with targetting mobs manually? :)
Nothing... I just found it quite impressive that she had been doing a manual assist for so long without anyone noticing - I only noticed once she slipped off on a mob I knew I hadn't had target on, after hunting with her for months. XD
Sometimes auto assist can be a problem .......

With some dark red mobs but safe because the group I'm with can handle them easily and I'm only there for the fact it's a fun group and great xp. I'm auto-assisiting don't notice that next target has been selected and is in a group of social mobs.

Off goes my toon to kill the selected mob, hits once - oh &*^% goes through my head :D
A Titan friend and I, a BD, meet up down in Dark Omens to duo, with my SE out of party. When I get there he says “nice duels” and I said “tyvm it’s been a while since we’ve partied” then the Titan “what plus are they now last I saw was +6” me again “+10 now” the Titan “cool! Let’s go kill stuff”. So we wander through Dark Omens for a bit killing aggro, and using my SE to do spot heals on me a bit more than I normally do, until we get to our grind spot. So now we’re at a nice 2 room junction and we start going to town killing stuff, and he turns to me and says “Dude, turn off your SS you’re pull aggro from me” that point busted out laughing and I say “a lvl 77 Titan told me a 75 BD that I’m drawing your aggro”. So for the next few hours I grind with no SS on.

FTR- the titan was using a Heavens divider and my toon had duel Damas

“a lvl 77 Titan told me a 75 BD that I’m drawing your aggro”. So for the next few hours I grind with no SS on.

Faith you know BD's rule ;)

(sorry for the off-topic post, just answering the question)

Nothing is wrong with it, as long as there is only one or two mobs to select from. The problem is when there are a bunch of mobs all grouped together. It's difficult to all get on the same mob when they're all stacked together unless you /assist somebody in the party.
"Ooops, Did I Do That?"

Wanting to xp on Toi 10th the group scoured hard for a noblesse summoner. We finally got one who ported our summoner up who then starts summoning group members up. Finally the last member gets up and we start getting buffs. Suddenly everyone finds themselves in town. In party chat we see our EE say, "Oops, wrong macro bar." Good thing we had another summoner out of party waiting up in 10th.
When I first started L2 I was partying with now a longtime friend in the game and after we killed things of course loot fell to the ground. I would individually click on each item and thought at first that whatever you picked up was yours. Needless to say, my friend was picking up super fast.. I was like wth - how is he clicking and picking everything up so fast?? Then I found out about the pick up item button on the hotbar and that when your in a party things are handed out by turn if set to that.. lol just a funny story...

I know I know ;) I'm usually the MA unless there's some tank wanting to take the spot. But a bunch of mobs doesnt matter to me, thats what poles are for.
I was standing in town in Aden sometime ago and looking in my inventory at my first BSOE. I think this was a still a little bit after they had been implemented, I had never really cared to use them and didn't want to purchase one. This one I think I got through one of the earlier events that provided them. I was planning to use it only for the most dire need. Maybe like a 4% mob death, since that could also cause me to drop items back in those days. I was sitting there pondering this when I accidently went to click one a DIFFERENT item... or so I thought. The mouse was too close to the BSOE and in time slowed around me as I pressed it, but was already too far to change anything.

I disappeared.

2 seconds later I appear 3 feet away.
OOPS (http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/7898/shot00025rr7.jpg)

Some might recognize this quest. For those that do. Look at the first item in my inventory. LOL.

This is one of those clan moments that we all laugh about. Whats even better is that after I got rezzed, my clanmate pked me. Some people wont understand this, but I found it funny.
Some day on my dorfs younger days i had gone into my wh to fetch a batch of shots to sell while iaws afk, it was like 190k-200k shots or so so iran really slow. Someone comes up to me before i reached my spot and laughs and goes "Haha u shouldnt wear armor that isnt in your grade you noob lol"
So i stop.. turn around to him and do a socialbow then type "Do you wish to purchase some dss? you look like a nice d grade using dagger" i have 190k shots or so you can buy..."
all the other guy said was ... and left, lol

On my gladdie i was off in dragon valley killing those drakes, i had the screen setup so that i only saw the actual mob, not the texted name of the mob above its head.. so i run around killing happily until i'm suddenly dead on the ground O.o i accidently went after an RB cause i couldnt see that it wasnt a normal drake (due to text not being shown in my screen) >.< lol
Thanks for the eye PK. Get outta here with that namby pamby humour garbage, humour boy.

Eat my Shots.
The first time i slapped a Tarlk Bugbear with curse fear, i laughed so hard i almost fell of the chair.
That was indeed hillarious imho
