I have a Vista computer and have just downloaded lineage 2 from fileplanet. After it completed I downloaded and ran it. It did the updates. While the updates were happening Lots of error messages were popping up saying "/system/engine.dllThefile cannot be created. Please verify available disk space and write permissions. Do you wish to continue?". I am the administrator on the computer, and its new with tons of space. The bar keeps going across and it says complete. I hit start and the sign comes up with a character and says "Interlude Lineage II". I have never played lineage before but i'm pretty sure the game is supposed to load then. That sign just stays up and nothing happens. Please help.
(I don't own a computer with Vista on it, but I did work with another developer to get our application working on Vista.)
Even if your account is set up as an administrator, programs you run don't get that permission unless you right-click and say "Run as Administrator". Vista will give you the "Cancel or Allow" thing, and then the auto-update should work fine.
I installed vista a few days ago on my laptop and installed lineage 2 and didn't have such problems. Try running a fullcheck and if it doesn't work I'd suggest filling up a support ticket from the links on the left and talk with someone from tech support.
You can always try running the game from:
c:/program files/lineage 2/system/l2.exe
That will bypass the updater section which isn't suggested on the long run, but see if the l2 software itself will load up. Just as a warning, though, it might take a little while depending on comp speed to load up, so if you see the flash screen with a character that says Interlude Lineage 2, wait a good minute before saying it doesn't work.
