I had a fun 'nuker' duo with a gladi, easy and fast kills. Overall a gladiator is above average DD and their ranged attacks are pretty sweet, both in pvp and pve(can't remember their names..).
Most people have forgotten that gladdies qualify for "20-39 polearm user" status and thus their polearm skill is better than most classes save 40+ polearm mastery classes.
Gladdy really is a very nice class right now. You cannot go wrong with a gladiator right now except possibly the FotM feeling.

Its Flavor of the month. Right now glads are popular after their boost so thats why you might get the feeling playing a fotm-class if you choose glad.
FoTM = Flavor of the month. Basically meaning, it is the over powered class for the chronicle. (I wouldn't say a gladiator is quite FoTM.)
My friend is a level 75 Gladiator. I would say PvE is a little above average. With VR and quick attack haste pots you can kill quite well. You will definately not level as fast as a Warlord, but very few can. I would recommend that you use a pole arm from level 20-39. It is one of the most soul shot efficient, it is fast, and duals just aren't worth it yet.
The biggest problem a gladiator has is the tattoo setup. If you go +4DEX +4STR and -8CON you will have lots of damage, and fast damage. But be aware that your HP will be low, and stunning mobs can easily destroy you. My friend has this setup, and sometimes regrets it, but doesn't want to sacrifice his speed for health.
Also, it is possible for a gladiator to duo with a SE. But really if they have a dagger or another gladiator in group it is awesome, or if you can get into AoE parties using your AoE skills...
FotM feeling is when you go looking for a group and all you can find are gladiators... (and their buff boxes)
If you don't mind playing a class that everyone else on the server is playing, don't worry about it.
Personally I find the FOTM thing overrated, what difference does it make really. If you want to play an archer, a necro, a glad, heck as long as you have fun in this game.
But i`m right that Gladdi is a good PvP class or ???...
U say a gladdi is FotM...That means a gladiator is overpowered for a month ?...but whats after a mont is it then a good PvP Class, too ???
And what do u think how long i need for lvl 75 if i play about 6-7 hours a day ?

More then a year to get to that lvl at that pace imo. Gladiator is a very nice pvp'er and will stay FOTM till at least the next update.
But whats after the next Update ???
Will a Gladdi stay as a good PvP class ?
Mfg Punky
I will answer that in a second my dear friend

Sorry mate I can't tell what NcSoft is going to do with gladiators.
It will take more than a year to hit 75 if you don't make a buffer. Make a 52 Prophet and a SE that gets VR 3 (forgot the level) and it will probably take you 4-5 months if you play every day for 6-7 hours. You could also make a WC if you want to, but you will have to level them up a bit more, and they are a bit harder to use. Personally, I like having my SE and Prophet more than I would like a WC.
Being one of the last live Prophets for over 3 years now, I have found that duoing with Gladdiators (outside of AOE parties) has been some of the fastest leveling in the game for me. Comments from the gladdi's have been that they don't notice much of a change in xp from clan hall buffs. Find yourself a live prophet and duo with them. Make sure they get up off of their butt and fight next to you though. They can provide heals when needed as well.
No worries, I doubt gladiators are going to get a large nerf because seriously, they just are not that over powered. They are good, and in pvp they are definately fun.
6-8 hours a day? Depends, if you use a pole arm, especially up until level 40, you can get to level 40 in about 3 weeks if you have a SE helping you out. 1-20 pole the spiders on ToI for free shots and good exp with that spider quest. It all depends on the groups you get. If you play 6-8 hours a day, and can get into good groups, doing lots of AoEing you can hit 75 in about 5-6 months. This is if you can get these groups for about 6 hours everyday.
If you are going to solo without a buffer you will not hit 75 until about 14 months. With a buffer duo most likely an SE, and killing mobs with duals, it will take you about 9-10 months to hit 75.
I soloed my Tyrant with buffs from 40 to 68 in about one month and a half. Assuming he has no buffers, 1-40 will take about 2 months because you need to level the buffers up too. 40 to 66 about 2 months, because again, needs to level buffers. 66 to 72 is about 2-3 weeks, and 72 is where the big walls start, so probably another 2-3 weeks to do 72-75. That is about 5.5 months. Leveling in this game is not hard if you can stand it, but most people can't sit there and do the same thing over and over and over and over.

 I would not recommend somebody 20- going to ToI ouch
You probably mean TI as Talking Island, not ToI as Tower of Insolence :)
BTW you can make to 40 within one weekend if you have free Friday and 52+ SE roaming around. Been there done that, leveled in NOS then catas around Dion whole Saturday and Sunday days. Incomplete Brig and Winged spear that I upgraded to Glaive when I farmed enough sealstones while levelling. It was on my dwarf BTW. (Leveled 4 dwarves in a row through academy like this and got completely sick of catacombs ...)
Classchange quests take another day or two then,
Methinks you do not understand how the DA skill works...
Being 100% invulnerable with a standard damage output being insane is a LOT more powerful than having a skill to counter attack from damage skills for a short time.
(reflect makes some people think the damage is avoided... it's not)
The DA skill is great vs daggers who just spam F1 F2 F3.
Against archers, mages, and anyone who is paying attention, it isn't nearly as useful.
The gladdy starts with zillions of HP, can make himself run insanely fast, and can then make himself 100% immune to everything... yes, the gladdy pays a price in damage output due to charges, but its overpowered for such an offensive class.
The DA skill is a great spoiler vs daggers, and a parlor trick against anyone else.
Glads are among the best non-pole classes for pve. However, anyone who thinks they are overpowered or due a nerf are dead wrong. Destroyers are the true FOTM and will stay such. Why? Because they are the fastest levelers in the game, bar none, and their uber pattack skills can 1-hit people in pvp at high levels. Glad's in oly are ok, but lose to prophets and OL's 99% of the time, and to tanks and WC's 50%. In regular pvp, they have no "out" skill, and their 7-second invuln. skill is almost useless as it takes 5 charges. I would put them in the top third of classes, but not at the top of the list (which still goes to OL in my view).
Keep in mind that archery has been "due for a nerf" for a great deal of time and they keep buffing it...
All of the newly introduced "invulnerable" skills are due for some adjustments... but like I said, "due" and "will actually happen" are two different things.
im not sure about Glad being the best PvE class :/
I coompared my BD and Glad, at the same level and same buffs(lvl58+ PP/SE buffs). Both had BW heavy and the BD had tsu*sls+8, the glad tsu*sls+12, and the BD could keep a room in apostate much easier then the glad. the glad just simply killed slower.
Ok, guess I never commented on the leveling part of it. They are not that great for PvE, because their damage just swinging is kind of low. It's not bad, but it is lower than most classes. However, they are a very fun class to play! And despite what Numenorean says, they are very very good in PvP. Any class that only has a chance to lose to 4 out of all the classes in the game in Olympiad is more than "ok."
Well lets see a pvp DA x Glad - DA use shakle,go to him with panther, using Shield of Revenge, well he used Sonic Barrier? time to use UD, wait until it ends...glads try to use his TSL = damage back to him..well I think this is pawnage
geez man are you really still spitting this trash about how overpowered glads are?
Being 100% invulnerable with a standard damage output being insane is a LOT more powerful than having a skill to counter attack from damage skills for a short time.
As everyone has been saying, this skill only last 10 secs, and activating it doesn't mean you still get that "standard dmg output" since it consumes 5 charges, that effectively DISABLES a glads offensive abilities until he can get those 5 charges back.
The gladdy starts with zillions of HP, can make himself run insanely fast, and can then make himself 100% immune to everything... yes, the gladdy pays a price in damage output due to charges, but its overpowered for such an offensive class.
Once again, turning on either sonic move, or sonic barrier (a lvl 79 skill might I add, how many lvl 79 glads do you know?) comes at the expense of offensive ability due to the fact that they consume charges, and inflict 0 dmg. let me say it again; by consuming charges they reduce ones offensive ability, so stop talking as if we get free run speed and free invincibility buffs.
In the case of sonic barrier, it also disables you ability to be buffed and to recover hp. How can you honestly call a skill like this overpowered since every "abuse" factor has been carefully mitigated.
well after reading this info, let me ask all the 70x glads/duelists. i've a 66 glad and a 64 destroyer, for the long run, and end game scenarios, what'd you guys recommend that i continue to grind out. i also have a 64 SE as a buffer.
Well, the thing is you do get that free time. It isn't the full 10 seconds of course, because you have to use those charges. Depending on what you do, it can mean probably about 6 free seconds of attacks, if you are close enough, or 2-3 free seconds if you are far away.
I doubt. Less than two months on a Necro to A Grade - and alot of times I'd get a level before noon, and chat until 11 PM. About 5 weeks of active playtime for me to get to a grade being a total noob borrowing some of worst gear for a DD nuker in D/lower C grade and I got A grade that fast. I doubt it will take me 10-11 months to get to level 75 with my playtime (average 10 a day :) *envy me*) so I don't think it will take a Gladiator over a year to get to S Grade provided he has access to buffs from an SE and some attack speed potions.
I didn't have a buffer until level 55, and took two weeks off of leveling to PL her up. So I guess 4 weeks or so to get to A grade on my main... Trensharo was my first toon ever in L2.
I know nuker is diff. But if you have buffer friends a melee can level really fast also. Much faster than 14 months to 75, hehe.
poling my glad I made 1-40 in 2 days, and 40-52 in 1,5 days. im sure you can make A grade in another 3-7 days. the rest will take some time :/ but if you realy want, I think going for Sgrade in 3-4 months isent that impossbile, if you pole a lot of it. (yea, you will prolly need OOP buff/heal pets)
