Just started up L2 after todays Maintenance and got a big patch downloaded. What patch is this there is no mention of anything on L2.com or message boards?
I suspect its related to this in the news section:

* Orc Mystics can now receive fighter buffs from the Newbie Guide. Area effect attacks do not affect players or monsters behind closed doors or walls.
* An issue that caused a rank to disappear when the clan leader changed a member’s rank has been fixed.
* The levels of the treasure boxes located in Blazing Swamp are now similar to nearby monsters.
* Various text corrections have been made.
* HP/MP/CP will not be recovered fully on 1v1 duel and the duel will not start if the HP/MP is lower than 50%. HP/MP/CP will be recovered fully only on party duel.
They finally managed to get their act together - no more 5 minute pauses rearranging all quickbars when i have to change sub :D
I don't see that they fixed it? Just something about changing ranks.
At least I didnt lose any shortcuts when I changed back and forth between subs 5 or 6 times after the patch. Before the patch I whould have had 0 shortcuts left after doing that :)
It's like that scene in "A Christmas Story" where the kid gets the "Little Orphan Annie" decoder ring only to find out that the secret message is "don't forget to drink your ovaltine"
Can't use the check files button, it never comes up. I hit L2.exe, and it never uploads anything, it just goes straight from the Interlude loading screen to 'enter account information'.

I can't understand this update. I though that duels were 'just for fun'. If they don't recover HP/MP/CP we will have to wait until it's full and begin the next combat. I think it has no sense.
Moreover, I think that skills recovery time should end when the duel ends. For example, i have to wait a lot to recover Lion Heart with my warlord. :(
Great Job EllieBelly, i was doing that quest last nite an i couldnt keep up with the text as it flew by to rapidlly. This Screen shot capture of yours did the trick...lol

PS for thos that view this has a waist of time i must disagree, granted its an easy quest with almost no rewards, except that 159k at the end. But i dont believe it was intented right now, as an important quest like the others.
It was to introduce the new race lore into the game, but im sure we havent heard the last of it for quests/events around the new race.
Well, now that I've read the quest I feel confident that I really don't want to do it. Thanks Ellie, that quest walkthrough was all I needed to get the info.
Good information but the page is setup horribly. Plus the issues with their servers(which constantly have issues) is irritating. I don't think it's only you. :)
I'm itching to read the new quest stuff but at the moment I can't get on stratics >_< doh lol
