In the coin quest it says that Buffalos, Kookaburas, Cougars and Bandersnaches will give coins. However I have been there for a few days and have not recieved one coin in the Garden of Beasts. Anyone know if this is a text error or what?

Haven't tried those mobs in that area, but I do know the bandersnatches and such around the exit from Goddard do drop them.
Yes, they drop Gold Wyverns and Blood Medusas. I have been getting a fair drop rate there recently, compared to other hunting areas for this quest. One tip that has sometimes helped me in different hunting grounds - are there any bots running around 24/7 in the area? If they are, be aware that petitioning and getting rid of the bots has sometimes helped me with the drop rate for Coins of Magic. Not always, but sometimes it helps.

LOL, I have no idea what that has to do with it, but any reasoning is good to petition them anyway :)
Well, my observation is empirical - sometimes the presence or absence of other players, be they bots or "live" players, has affected drop rates. I have definitely seen this in Outlaw Forest and in the area East of Aden. In the area East of Aden, it was always bots. In Outlaw Forest, sometimes it was bots, sometimes it was "live" players hitting the area for a few days. Having seen this, and knowing the overall drop rates of coins are quite low, I would theorize the explanation that too many players of any kind hitting a hunting ground will make the drop rate for an individual go really low. But whatever the reason, I have seen this in the 2 hunting grounds I mentioned above. You can't do much about live players being in the same area, but you can petition to clear bots out. And, as you say, it's always good to get rid of them anyway.
