Sprockets the Cat entered the room with an apprehensive look on his face.
Master, I think we have a problem, said the cat cautiously.
What is it THIS time? grumbled the Dwarf sitting behind the desk.
Do you remember that little experiment you tried a while back? asked Sprockets.
Which one? I conduct a lot of experiments, being the greatest scientist in all of Aden.
Mad scientist is more like it Sprockets mumbled to himself.
What?! was heard ringing throughout the room.
Er, um, you know the one where you wanted to give your golems hearts so they could feel emotions. Sprockets quickly interjected.
Oooh, that one. I am a genius arent I? My creations are perfect. What about this experiment? asked the Dwarf with an arrogant smirk.
In all your infinite wisdom and ability, the golems were granted emotions, but
Things are not going so well. The golems cant control their feelings and are behaving erratically. Im sorry sir. Its simply CHAOS! Sprockets said frankly.
The doctor leapt out of his chair and began to pace.
Figures .. I guess this is what I get for trying something different. What do you suggest we do? the Dwarf said in an inquisitive tone.
Well, the golems ransacked your warehouse for parts and then left in a frenzy. Tracking them down may be difficult. But we might be able to convince some of the original adventurers that brought us hearts to help us again. As payment, we could let them keep what they can salvage. advised Sprockets.
Preposterous! Why would I allow this? roared the doctor.
No one likes accidental evil, doc. Its sloppy. Theyll think you are losing your touch
Good point. Do what you have to do, but keep them out of my laboratory! the dwarf said defiantly.
Will do boss, said Sprockets as he turned to go find help.
When Golems Attack
Sprockets the Cat asks for your assistance. Golems of all level ranges have been spotted across the lands of Aden. With all their activity, they are causing the earth to shake. They are appearing in random locations, carrying various crafting materials and L2 Day Scrolls. All adventurers are advised to use any means necessary to halt these continuous earthquakes. Dr. Chaos has said that those who are successful may keep the loot that these golems carry.
Prizes
Various crafting materials and L2Day scrolls can be dropped.
Remember, do not try to take down the Raid Boss by yourself. Gather your friends and fight!
Also, do not talk to Dr. Chaos unless youre looking for a fight!
though these events are great,a s are all events put forth by Nc, i prefer collection events like the hearts and the old school Heavy Metal style events :)
probably a result of the choas that ensued over the weekend, or they were already talking of puting on an event. Either good job NC, glad to see you still care
I sure hope that this is not *just* a recycling of the mob events we have had in the past....AKA Preset times and locations where the spawns can be easily monopolized by those who already have so much cash they can teleport all over and camp/smash the spawns before most anyone else even know there are there.
Its 'A Event', but if it's anything like the previous one, it's in danger of being another 'non-event'. (Due to the aforementioned camping.)
Quote from the home page: "Can you help stop the crazed automatons?" Finally we have official permission, sure I help ;) :) Anyway, it will be the first official event in L2 for me, so I can't wait :)

The story is lightly amusing though. ^_^;
This is exactly my fears, and we all know how lazy NCsoft is by now, I am 99% sure they will spawn in the same locations... Yay for L2Day scrolls!!! (sarcasm alert)
yeah tons of mats the flood the market even more. Guess its time to give up all together on selling stuff just crush it all to make shots.
you're a farmer who can't sell his mats? I'm a normal player, and i'm glad of this event. For me, is kinda IMPOSSIBLE, to get 1000 CBP (by grinding) to fail, trying to make A weapon. So, please, let the complains and play like all others. Me and my friends will participate in this event, last time we had luck, we hope for luck this time also :)
good luck others.
For me, is kinda IMPOSSIBLE, to get 1000 CBP (by grinding)
That's what - two, three days of hunting in a catacomb at level 4x? Please...
which catacomb? that where are bots/farmers? there? :)
i kill bots then they come back and again, is an endless story.
Anyway, i was waiting this event for fun. I hope they make random spawns. Last time i was thinking is random, and i was running like crazy to figure out in next day, that is same spot...
Couldn't tell you, I'm at work. I doubt I'll even see a single golem during the whole event due to being a non-NA player. Still, not fussed, manor is for mats. ;)
yeah, i practice this method. But, this is a "new" game feature?
Anyway, is not working all the time, sometimes i found furious farmers who PKed me. The funniest thing is after i have the crop, go to manor, but the problem is coz i can't sell crop. Do i have to be a illegal player to can sell my crop? coz in 2 weeks i was unable to sell my crop. Illegal software are faster than my clicks. If i was alone, i knew i do something wrong, but there are hundred of frustrated players. So? yes, i continue to be a normal player, and wait events like this :)
All time i had play with bots i get pked.
And i dont know why but every time i find a lot of adena on ground at cemitery i got killed before collect all :D

Getting crops through the manor system is well within human possibility to beat whatever bot programs there are. I was taught how ;) And my beloved teacher is even on these forums... but she doesn't like giving the secret so I'll keep her confidential ;)
Well if I managed to dump all 8k red codas to manor guy on Hinde, and it was even during time when automated trial accounts were rampant, it is possible.
Just get accurate clock and a bit of luck. Mayb take few days but it will work one day.
But it's a bit offtopic, care we talking about golems, aren't we? ;)
Have not seen any messages in system window to say they have started, nobody I have spoken to has seen a special mob spawn yet and silence from ncsoft about what time it is supposed to start.

Getting event messages on bartz along with ground shaking in towns ect.. not finding any golems tho.
One raid with minions. I don't think the minions were agro but hell, he was. Some idiot trained it to the Gk spawn to Pavel and I saw a whole clan rolled in about 30 seconds.

Give me 45 minutes more and I'll tell you if the minions are aggro or not. I love suicide missions like this. Nothing to lose but XP, really.
I've got a tiger by the tail it's plain to see
I won't be much when she gets through with me
I'm losing weight and turning mighty pale
Looks like I've got a tiger by the tail.
You will have to find one first. The ground shook around me a few times so I went hunting and couldn't find anything. I believe the ground shaking (like the swords, but not red) is a symbol that one is near. I've decided to camp out near some hunting areas around my clans level and fish till the earth moves.. then we pounce.
If this is like other mob spawn events, it will start slowly and then increase in frequency/regularity. In the past I would just level as normal and somehow manage to stumble onto the event mobs by happenstance. I'm a mob magnet.
1:15 into the event.
Golems spoted on rune north exit on theroad towards beast farm.
bunch of them. 1 raid boss lvl 66 with 6 minions.
killed the random minions.
Of 14 mobs, 4 dropped L2 scrolls,Pots and various crafting mats:iron,VOP,leather, cord, etc. ( no equipement mats)
Raid boss downed in less than 5 minutes, many character paralized cause of LVL penalty.
drop:........ lvl 49 mid grade life stone..
GF NCsoft....
now gives us something worthy.
many complains about the respawns being super slow and away from main roads/towns/villages...
ppl use the GK to port from place to place, not running from Town A to Town B.
piece of advide: put the mobs near popular grinding areas and make it as often as 30 minutes.
Yes there are large groups of mobs if you are fast enough to find them. In a mater of an hour of looking and finding them, I got a ton of mats. If you are looking for a fast stack of Adena then this is not an event for you.
I ran into a LARGE group of event mobs, at least a couple dozen of them. Hit them with a scratch/pich up group and had a classic battle when they ALL socialed on us at once. Great loot, great fun...good job NCSoft!
PS no, I'm not saying where 'cause I am camping the spot.
Anyone else have some locations to check?
I found a group yesterday IT, but the raid boss was only lvl 60. If i fight it at lvl 76 will it PZ me just like a regular raid boss?
Well, this event is crap. 2 hours of looking right after two messages and not a single thing found. Even the elpy event was better, at least I found those.
They are regular raid bosses just in different locations.
Normal Raid Bosses? So they aren't flagged with "Event" in front of their names or true golems????
If that's the case, then I saw 3 of them yesterday: Magnarak (whatever it's name is) in Forsaken Plains, Naga in Blazing Swamp, and another RB (whose name I didn't catch) midway between Outlaw Forest and BS.
Naga and Magnarak did not have minions. Naga wiped out a clan and a few of it's allies. I'm not sure if they went back to try again.
Was showing a noob friend how to get from Gludin to Dark elf with running and scrolls.
Looked up hillside and saw an Obsidian Golem miles away from home. Climbed the hill and there they were. Maybe 20 various golems and one Raid. They were all dark blue to me but some still dropped.
We had 12+ L2 scrolls and large quantities of mats.
50 silver ore
50 Varnish
100 Stone of Purity
2 A crystals
50 Stem
50 Animal Skin
Some attack/speed potions
Various small quantity mats.
Noob died to the Raid but it was dark blue to me so no point hitting it.
Their location was up on the left side of the hills as you run from Fellmere Harvest grounds up along the road towards Dark Elf territory.
We did an event raid on bartz level 43 crazy golem the very same one that normally under IT crator.
Droped x5 each l2 scroll
2500 or the lower grade mats bones m.ore m.thread etc...
5 bsoe
Funny thing no real exp w/4 groups. One of the tank groups was completely dead didnt get any exp. One guy pulled a ninja and ran off with all the emp l2 scrolls. Hes now kos from like very major clan that participated.
Over all it was pretty bad these sort of events are really made for higher level clans that can muster there allys quickly. Not even the hero's in our server touch them or give a hoot or a helping hand or help generate shouts unless its 60+ event raid boss. Took about 3+ hours to get the partys filled.

Giant Maranek can usually be found in Forsaken Plains. But I did see one in Frozen Lab earlier today.
it's nice event. Because 1st day locations and 2nd day locations of event are different. It was funny to see a lot of ppl camping locations from 1st day of event and nothing spawned there. This is the way this event should be. Random location everyday, to give some "work" to each player. :)
For the non-US players among you, the first spawn on Sieg happened at roughly 21:30 GMT +1 yesterday. I was just porting out of BS when I noticed the ground was shaking.
Came back about 20 minutes later (after restocking) and found a bunch of golems and a Raid Boss. Killed the golems (Giants Cave mobs). They were dark blue to me but I still ended up with a few thousand mats and about 20-30 L2 scrolls.
A few more people turned up and we tried the lvl 66 RB with about 10 people. It didn't go too well.
Anyway, if the start times are consistent maybe us undeserving Euro scum can get a look in on this event. ;)
My clan together with other alliances managed quit well to kill the 6X RB event boss. We taken it/them down 3 times in the past two days, though yeah I must agree it takes a bit of organizing though for the 2nd and 3rd time we killed an event RB, we put the parties together in 30 mins tops.
It does require to be able to organized fast since others want to go for it fast also. I don't think we could had pulled it off without Trinity and UnitedRealms alliance helping out, but its def. some fun raiding ^^ All those drops makes people get fat (read: overweight pen), but it's nice to have RBs that spawn randomly and fast. Makes it hard to the strong alliances/clans to hog them.
Killing the bosses isn't the problem, its even finding anything that's been the problem. I talked with some others and noone in the 4 mid-sized clans has seen any of the event mobs. The number of mobs spawning is ridiculously low.

We found two spawns within spitting distance of Aden town last night. I guess we were very lucky.
I found one of the GC raid bosses (last titan utenus or something) in AB last night but no golems so I had to move it along :/
I saw about 3 versions of Uternus (spelling?) in 3 different locations around FOTD and the BS port area. No golems. I've felt the quaking and saw the event messages, but still haven't seen a single golem.
How does that saying go...."If a trees falls in a forest, but there is no one around to see it fall, did it happen?"
I do think this event is broken as they spawned all mobs only once? Maybe not with the Raid Boss's but as I have not tried that so I can not confirm that.
Sure you have the ground shack and the messages and all that but I for one highly doubt that new event spawns take place.
Of course some-one will claim differently but I have scouted area's for hours on end without a new spawn anywhere in the fields I ran through. Especially after the message and shacking you would think it would....
Lots of hot air but nothing else...
(Sometimes I wish I was more evil and have the zoom working to even see if any new event mobs are spawned..)
PS
All this searching sure helps getting higher online numbers so I guess it working out for the statistics.
Around 3 am (Mountain time) me and my brother saw a small group of golems in FotD near the port zone NPC's. We tried to lure one away from the group but I got pz'd and died lol... they were all white to me.
me and my 2-3 of my alliance members just went out and searched for the raid bosses... and boy were we lucky =P
heres some pics, i thoguht i took a pic of em all we did but i guest i forgot >.< so far i did 4 mass event raid mobs.........
i would name what i got but its too many... my wh is just full of stuff .. cant wait to sell... oh and personally i think theyre going a little easy on the event mobs for the last day too have some big blow out event mobs attacking giran or something... *we could only hope* and then have huge drops =P
All this searching sure helps getting higher online numbers so I guess it working out for the statistics.
I was already in the fields near the Gorgon's nest around Giran searching when the tremors started. I waited for the announcement, kept searching but saw nothing. When the announcement was finally made, I was just past Breka Orc area and near the Dragon Valley port zone. I continued searching into DV, ported to town when I didn't see anything, and used the GK to port first to Hardins then to the Antharas Lair port. I searched all of these areas before the announcement was made "The Golems have been spotted," which I interpreted as meaning that someone had engaged the Golems. I gave up after that.
Safe to say, the Devs win. I will never again trouble them for another event. Now excuse me while I go break my +11 Soul Bow.
I was in FP yesterday when the ground shake began....then the announcement, and then it wasn't until about 20 minutes after the first announcement that the "the golems have been spotted" message came out, at which time the golems spawned right where I was.
Tried again today after the ground shake and no luck.
Well, I had a good time. Myself and a few friends came across a few of these, abeit a level 20 Golem. 2 dwarves and 2 healers with a little help from an OoP SE.
We downed 5 of the little buggers for a staggering 100% XP each. We had to delevel our toons by the time we got to the 3rd one, but just think of the SP!!!
Drops included every L2 day scroll you an get, loads of basic mats (skin/bone/thread/vop/lube ... etc). Puma Skin top/bottoms. A-Crystals. Greater magic/haste potions. So many I can't remember.
Going to bed now, but I'll be doing it all over again tomorrow (after deleveling ofcourse!). I'll be the one in giran selling dirt cheap L2days for the next year.
I was out levelling in NoD yesterday when the first 2-line message came up. After about 5 minutes the ground shook and we got the extra message "Find the Golems!". Spoke to a mate and he said that he got the first message but no shaking of the ground and no extra message.
Hopped out of NoD and found a group of low-level golems (Winstone and Granite). Killed them all and they still dropped stuff even though I'm 45-50 levels higher than them.
Anyway, if you get the ground shaking and the extra message it seems to me that there is a spawn nearby. Happened to me on Friday in BS as well. Just have a good look around as they are pretty tight groups.
<sarcasim>
What a GREAT event.....
</sarcasim>
I see three main problems with this so-called event.
One, the event mobs are too hard to find (perhaps too few and far between - but I don't know since I've NOT seen a single one)
Two, the event mobs are Raid Boss levels, which means, if you do find it, you aren't going to be taking it on alone.
Three, because of two, that means you have to some how come up with a raid group before some one else shows up with a raid group to dispatch the hard to find prize (mob). This gives a MAJOR advantage to the largest of clans and leaves solo players OUT of business for this event!
So, for those few who can actually participate in this event, have fun. For the rest of us, I suggest ignoring that this event ever even happened.
Still, the finding them is a first trouble to overcome. I even saw some one blow past me on a strider after the last announcement on bartz, and he had a ton of agros chasing after him. It still ends up being an event for the few rather than an event for the entire server, imo....

this is no different from any other event.
SOMEONE will always be screwed by one event or another. sometimes multiple.
in your case, you cannot participate in the event. fine. if at least 51% of the rest of the game DOES, however, NC has done its job and cannot be told they did a shoddy event.
since everything has room for improvement (even the events) we will consider the above statement to be 100% accurate.
in your case, you cannot participate in the event. fine. if at least 51% of the rest of the game DOES, however, NC has done its job and cannot be told they did a shoddy event.
Do you really think that 51% of any of the servers people are actually participating in the event? Most of the time all I ever see is a shout saying "where's the event mobs?" and only on a couple of occasions have I ever seen the "Event Raid group forming" shout, both times I've seen it, the groups were seeking high-ish levels.
btw, I never said NCSoft wasn't doing their job. I just think that this event, and this kind of event leaves a lot of the players that want to participate asking if the time spent tracking down these limited supplies of mobs (raid or not)is worth the time and effort. More power to you if you really think this is the greatest event ever.
I don't see that this event has been particularly bad or good. I have come across 3 groups during the event, not bad for a UK player. Two were Giants Cave mobs and one was a low level group in DE lands. Killed the normal mobs and gained some mats/scrolls that I wouldn't otherwise have got so it's a bonus.
I would say that the timing and style of this event was probably wrong. There has been somewhat of a mini-outcry on the forums recently about the lack of events. Therefore a soloable event (something along the lines of pumpkin or letter events) would probably have been better accepted by the community. Before you moan at me I'm not suggesting a rerun of those events, just something that everyone gets to participate in without going too far out of their way.
If I had the power to change the event I would have made the spawns more frequent and I would have made them happen 24 hours a day.
Apart from that I'd say it was OK. If solo players found the groups first they got to pick off the normal mobs, leaving the Raid Bosses for the more organised people. That didn't seem to happen though. Some of the bosses were still up 2 days after they spawned. One last thing, the spawns seemed more random, not just a repeat each day, so there was no opportunity to spawn camp.
These things all come down to expectations. Mine were not high so I am not particularly disappointed. Anyway, those were my observations and I'm sure some of you do/will disagree.
I don't think that figure is that high, but we will never know the percent. :)
No, and I, too, doubt that this event will be that high.
The exit poll will speak for us, but let's not pretend that the devs didn't already have advance knowledge of how this would turn out. We've done enough events over the past 3 years for them to know which type of event garner wide participation, and the ones that don't. Anything that starts off with "search and destroy rare spawning mobs" usually nets a lower participation by players. But events like the L2 Olympics and original L2 Anniversary where you get event items when you kill something, anything, and give you a chance to win something almost always have a higher participation percent.
And speaking of which, how does one respond for this event. Did I participate? Absolutely. I searched every time I felt the ground shake or saw the message. But since I never found the mobs after almost exhaustive searches, do I really feel like I participated? No. And if there is a poll, I hope they ask the right questions.
For those of you who did find mobs....GRATZ! I'm glad that you were able to enjoy this event. Heck, I'm glad that ANYONE was able to enjoy this event. Heaven knows, it will be another 4 months before we have another.
SOMEONE will always be screwed by one event or another. sometimes multiple.
Tell me whos screwed by a "collect" event where every mob you hunt has the potential to drop something?
I personally loved the letter and heart events. Everyone had a chance, everyone got something, and while certain people may have gotten a ton more, everyone felt happy they left the building with something.
With that said, its a Event, watch for the shaking, and try the lower level area's with a newb or two, they drop just as good as the higher area's and the same things. (A crystals, etc)
Either one ya went in circles around the same area or either im really good at finding these event monsters.... personally i just went out hunted and made a macro /target ....
and just today me and a bunch of random ppl on erica went out and killed these guys.... hard work though ill admit that ...
but the drops were awesome =P
heres pics below .... now become overwelmed with envy.... oh yea i think non huge clan/alliance players benifited more from event... just my opinon.... http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o294/Socriety/Shot00231.jpg http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o294/Socriety/Shot00232.jpg
I have to agree that the spawn rate was atrocious. Two or three clannies participated in an organized event raid boss raid, but apart from that, nobody I talked to even SAW event mobs or bosses. I actively searched for them right after the messages on two days, but could not find anything at all. For me, this was a complete non-event. Either have the event mobs be rare, but spawn them the whole day long (e.g. rabbit hunt) so that people can take an hour off from xping and still have somewhat of a chance to find event mobs even outside US prime time - or make them extremely easy to find (like the good old event where hordes of mobs spawned right outside town) and announce it when they spawn. But don't make them only spawn during US prime time AND in small numbers. It is just frustrating when nothing happens the whole day, and when finally the message comes when you're about to go to bed, you go searching for the mobs and find nothing at all.
I've seen at least 5 Golems standing around in Aden, unharmed.
Me too, but we're on the same server. ;)
There is a distinct difference between the normal event mobs and the event Raid Bosses. The normal mobs can usually be soloed so they go quickly. The event Raid Bosses require more organisation so they stay up longer. As I stated in a previous post, on Sieg there is an event boss that spawned on Friday in BS that was still there on Sunday, and I bet the one in ABG is still there too.
If the normal bosses aren't getting taken down on your server then I guess the event ones won't be either.
Maybe the event just needs more frequent "topping up" of the non-Raid mobs.
Well in the case of the minions there's something wrong. I mean I was searching for a long while and when I was about to give up I found some. They were maybe 40ish (the minions) so I could take them all on by myself even with them being arrow resistant. I did invite a clannie and waited (a very long time) for him to come over to share drops with him, but I didn't really have to do that... could have taken it all for myself. If they spawn in the same spot, than maybe I'm the only one who knows that location and could hunt those minions over and over again. There is a great imbalance in that.
well i think i can throw some light onto why nobody can find the event raids i saw a bunch of bots working together to farm it >< so imo this even stinks seems to me that ncsoft should just rename itself to something that suits the bots because if this the crap they letting happen then when lineage 3 and aion are out im gonna steer clear of them :( {ncsoft the botters paradise}

A GOOD WAR SMITH IS AN HONOURABLE ONE :( <--ALSO VERY ****** OFF WAR SMITH 2 A GRADE WEAPON FAILS :*(
will i ever see a grade ??
yes in dwarf land event mobs have been killed by bot dwarfs, all that need to bu done is to change names of those golems or ban bots...
they have been also trying to kill RB golem but got para all the time they attacked... it was funny but also sad in same time :(
I found a group event mobs around Oren yesterday. I was looking for the npc for hatchling quest. I am a sk lvl 68. I found a Raid Boss lvl 45 with minios and around it 20 mobs (not minios) then i killed it (not boss and minios) end got a lot of mats, l2day scrools and blesses soe/rez. I think about 10M in drops. The mobs was blue for me and 1/4 mobs dropped items.
where at? at plains of lizardman? i want to get some more drops =P
greed ftw ^^
oh yea and i think they also respawn in the same spot because my raiding parties were killing a event raid boss and then like half way through the blue message came and then another raid boss spawned with alot of mobs around it... man that was some good fun =P and lots of drops =P
Next time this kind of event takes place: look for event mobs in lowbie land.
I managed to take down at least 5 of those minion-groups. they were dark-blue/green/white to my lowbie event-hunter. I basically searches for 8 hours a day zig-zagging the countryside.
I however still think the spawn was done once not to be respawned a second time. There were announcements sure... I base this on the absent of spawns after I basically ran lowbie-land top to bottom. Nor did I see new "RB's" standing alone and I have seen 9 at least during the event.
Another fact what has plagued this event is the ability to gather the drops from dark-blue's something the community already rebelled against in previous instances.
In all I have no real reason to complain if I read this thread.
From a players view this would have been more fun with more respawns and better accessibility according to player-levels.
I did see high-level players pass me by on stryders in search of event-mobs in lowbie-land.
Since the event nears an end, I'm going to let everyone know why they couldn't find many event mobs if they didn't find them in the first few spawns. Let's say, in theory, there's a program that sniffs packets to L2. It reads the drop info if you have it installed and sends it along to a website. Things like, I dunno, L2 day - BREZ scrolls or certain golem/giant raid bosses show up on it at specific locations on the map. Let's say you place toons at each of these places, log in at spawn, kill them, log out. Or maybe you have another illegal program to do that for you too.
On some servers, luckily not mine, apparently this was the norm. And no, I don't have any of the above things, but I do talk to people. Much richer people now.
NCSoft, YOUR SPAWNS MUST BE TRUELY AND TOTALLY RANDOMIZED OR YOU ARE HANDING LOOT TO CHEATERS!
I probably was involved with 20 or so of these groups throughout the whole event. You just had to know where to look to find them. We did one raid boss that was fun, and we as a clan set up whole parties to go find stuff this time. It was a nice break from the grind :)
My clan was scouting out some lowbie event raid bosses a couple of nights ago. My wife finally found one on the northern tip of TI and so she waited there until the rest of us could get to it. Within about two minutes, two heroes show up, and one of them nukes the raid boss to death in about 6-7 nukes. The golem never attacked back, never para'd/silenced him, and still dropped all his loot. WTH is up with heroes being able to solo level 20 raid bosses??? If it's an exploit, it has got to be fixed!
That is odd because the RBs would para us when we hit it if we were high enough.
Yeah, if it was just a Raid Boss, or one of the normal Raid Boss minions, that's what happens. It's what happened to me. But for the event minions, you should have been ok to kill them no matter what level you are, I think.

doues para work only on short distance, he should silenced him
Myself and a friend regularly had our 2x dwarves smacking the lowbie event raids and my bishop was actively healing them without being silenced. I'm beginning to think, as this has happened on normal raids too, that everytime a high level toon attacks or casts near a raid boss that a kinda dice roll is made to see if the raid curse/silence drops. I think in the 10 or 11 event raids I've done in this manner my bishop was only silenced once.
If heroes can kill level 20 raids with out getting paralyzed or silenced, something is wrong. A level 29 character got paralyzed when they hit it, and a 6x EE was silenced for buffing too near one.
Anyway...
At first I thought this was going to be a non event, as I couldn't find any mobs and the few raids around need a larger group then I could find. The last two days of the event I tried looking around the starting areas and found level 20 event raids. So I dragged out a level 24 dwarf, the first raid leveled me to 26. Next one got me to 28. Killing a third got me most of the way through 29. ^^; At which point I started deleveling.
We had a small group of 2-6 players killing the raids in the starting areas, we even found three full groups of event mobs. The raid AI would go off and kill everyone else in the party once or twice, completely ignoring the main DD/tank. It even went after people who only hit it a few times. Crazy fun. In the end we killed 12 raid bosses, 2 of which I soloed with the dwarf.
This Event was terrible. I have an idea... lets have a server message like 3 times a day, and have people stop what they are doing leave the hunting grounds, walk all over the world find nothing, waist an hour only to return and find someone else hunting in the spot they left. Wow.... worst event in history... not only was it lame, but unoriginal as well. regurgutating the same evenets over and over is getting very old. Nc soft seems to be getting cheaper and cheaper as the months go on. God forbid people make some money to actually do something with.....guess maybe more people should start ebaying money.. seems to be where NC soft is pushing people
it says event go till 29th... but there was no event on 29th...
hope we get anything better, may "new" soon.
events like this needs way more spawns and not only every day same time 2x in the evening... a day has 24 hours and not everyone like to play at "eulaviolators prime time"...
it was clearly another event for the toons with a "wide area map"...
this collect events not better, only the 24/7 "players" get the loot.
how about a "increased drop rates event", 365days in the year?
would make the servers cleaner and peps cheat less ...
i remember that i got "full drops" in c2/c3 :o and spoils dont took days / weeks to get ....
I made about 50m in mats, 20m in buff scrolls, and 15m in buff pots/ bsoes/ brezes. I found so many spawns... it almost became a chore. I didn't even have enough time to stop and raid. I was riding my strider for hours and hours. It wasn't even a matter of getting their first. I ran across the map and there where groups left completely undisturbed for hours. Sure... they where in remote areas where people wouldn't think to look... but every time I got a hunch I ended up being right. Not only that.. but people paid me 2-4m each time I gave them the locations after I was done with them just so they can do the raid bosses.
It could have been anyone else too. But no.. most people are crying about this event where either too lazy... or they didn't have the free time. Nothing was wrong with it. It delivered everything it promised... and I fail to see how people can complain if they didn't really participate.
Well, there you have it in a nutshell why you found the event oke.
First: you have access to a strider which not all people do have.
Second: you apparently have either a non-existed social live or you must be a student without a full time job. Could it be you took a holiday for this event like I did?
Thing is that events on international hosted games should in my eyes be all day events for the simple fact that the event should (again) in my eyes be accessible during all hours of the days.
Spawned event like this one are by default wrong as it will be only luck or complete dedication events if you consider that not all people have hours and hours of time to play in the first place.
During this event I have had days where I did not see a announcement for 8 hours or more. However I do believe I am talking to a brick wall when I express this to people like you or the event-maker. This has been in previous threads and just like those old threads people and event-makers do and say the same thing.
For the record I DID get access to 5 spawns so I did have my share of the event. However I took days of to be able to participate and I was online during the event almost 12+ hours a day. (By the way, I lack the strider or I might have had access to more then those 5 spawns)
Still this event was again NOT good for the requirements needed to partake as I stated above. The time/fun factor was near "0" for I think a bigger part of the folks out there.
I honestly did have a lot of fun with this event! It's not about whether there are not enough mobs or whatever. You get out of this event what you put into it. Nothing more, nothing less. If you make it a priority to find every spawn, you'll have fun with this event. If you don't you'll hate every minute of it.
The event was also quite fun for this reason: You travel to places you never have before. They are encouraging the player base to at least go and look at some of the other areas of the game, and it gives new people an opportunity to see L2 as a whole world, not just small communities.
Now sure, people want to complain about every little thing regarding this event, but they could have completely ignored us altogether and done NO event whatsoever. I didn't have a strider to do this stuff and just ported where I thought they were. After the first couple of spawns, I figured out some good places to go and went there to find the mobs and sure enough, I was lucky enough to find them. They were easy enough to kill for a 54 Bishop with no SS on a Ghoul Staff, so there's no complaints there.
It's all about your effort. The mobs were there, and they did give lots of good stuff. If you were dedicated enough, it would pay off greatly for you. If not, well, you enjoyed other parts of the game instead.

Fun or not I am more concerned with availability and that is what is lacking in events like this on 24/7 servers. That's my opinion.
As I wrote I took a short holiday knowing I would be able/have a chance to partake. This is not an option for everyone. This single fact makes the event a bad 1. Again that is my opinion.
An other thing that seems odd is the fact that dark-blue event mobs drop stuff in the first place. Sure I made use of it but it stays strange. If the fact that high levels could kill and loot dark-blue event RB's without getting paralized/silence is true I see even more things that surely should be changed.
Btw I ran around with a lowbie so I can in my defense state that some of the mobs were green/white to me too. Basically I should have had drops from the green and white only.
It wouldn't be an event for everyone if only certain mobs dropped for certain level ranges. It's an event that was supposed to be for everyone. I'm also sure that if someone was able to kill low level raid bosses without any curses, it's a bug and should have been reported.
As far as availability, you have to understand that, and I'm not defending NCSoft on this, there are only a limited number of GM's who can spwn these mobs. If they aren't on, there's no spawns. Events are made so that everyone HAS to do them. They're there for the simple fact that sometimes the grind needs to be broken up a bit. If you don't wanna break your grind, don't participate.
What people are getting wrong here is not the details in the event, just that there actually WAS an event. Not all events have to be super spectacular for the entire player base. One event may be just a bust, the next might be a complete success, followed by a mediocre one. It's a matter of the players do what they can to get the best out of it. It was Memorial Day weekend that this occurred, and being NA, most people were off for the weekend. It gives time to play and enjoy the event.
The lack of participation in events such as these because some people don't want to spend time running around is what kills the other events, and makes them too easy. If a dark blue mob is going to drop you 1-4 buff scrolls, 10-20 GSA's, GHP's, GMHP's, 2-8 A Crystals, and so on it should NOT be easy to do. And usually there at least 3-4 drops per set of mobs so the cash you can make is substantial. It's not supposed to be easy. If you want to make the most out of it, you have to work for it. That's the whole point here. Sure the mobs are easy to kill, but they're not easy to find. To the finder go the spoils.
There's no proof that the events are designed to spawn during any specific period of time during the day, or that it disrupts American or European players <-- (If you're not one of the two, everything is going to be difficult anyway).
All a strider does is make things faster. Everyone USED to walk around places back in the day, instead of porting. But since you do have porting to all types of places it won't be difficult for any class to search some areas. It's not like the continuous map of Lineage has ever been offlimits to anyone, Especially out in open land of Aden (vs Elmore, which is more enclosed).
I hardly put much effort into looking and I'm satisified enough. I mean people can stop grinding for a few days to focus on this can't they? If not well, I don't see why the events should *always* so easily accesible that players can just get it over with in 5 seconds. That's just too easy
