Small clans make this game better

I have 5 chars above lvl 40 and had try a lot of clans. I got more fun and help from small clans. I hope theses clans should work togheter to make a better server.
Please if you are a clan leader post here and lets try create a big and fun alliances.
Small clans dont have castles or clan halls but they play for fun and friendship.
What about a website to register all theses clans/members and promote contact for all?
I agree that small clans can seem more friendly and fun, but the downside is that they are often deprived of some of the more interesting parts of the game such as seiges and mass pvp etc etc.

I've been in many small clans before joining the one i'm in now, my advice would be to join a larger clan when you get to A grade (dunno what level you are now) because you will get to experience lots of new things :)
I'm leader of small clan on Kain named SocialMisfits. Through our trials and tribulations we work together. Right now we are Level 5. The hardest part about running a small clan is finding honorable members that don't care for the Big alliances. So we have our core members who have been good friends through everything. Then you get clan hoppers that are never satisfied.
Limiting alliances to 3 clans was a really bad move for small clans. It helped fix some drama in-game, since people usually care more about their clan than alliance, if you have 100+ people clans, that's 100+ people who are loyal to each-other.

But it also means that smaller clans can't coordinate raids / pvp as well so they really got the short end of that stick.

Amazing how true this is.
I find most small clans to be primarily comprised of players that aren't as active as the big clans, or have varying playtimes.

I'm all for socializing in game after I'm done getting the XP I wanted for that day. - but once 8pm hits I want to sit around and talk in clan chat, not go grind for 4-5 hours in a catacomb.

That's the problem I've had with small clans.

Bigger clans tend to always haev a respectable number of people online at all differentn times - and since the alliances are larger, that number grows respectively.
Good to have a little bit of both I say
Thats how ColdNights is...we're just having fun and doing it when we can, and not worrying about the big hype that a large clan would have to worry about.
Bleh.

I'm in a Large clan with is maxed out lvl 5 on both main and academy. It's also in a large alliance.

There are still never more than 10 people logged in at any given time. So what difference does a make if the main clan is out of room, when 3/4th of the names on the roster are inactives/alts/spyes?

Since there are only 10 people who are on, at any give time, does this still constitute a small clan?
I have a small lvl 5 clan too. All ppl in my clan are casual players with a job and not to much time. Some are also in different time zones but that dosent really matter.
We play for fun most of the time.
Personally i dont miss Sieges or Raids. From my experience Raids tend to take to much time to be worth doin them (due lack of organisation or lack of knowlege of ppl).
Beside that you need to have trustworthy ppl to raid with when ur a small clan. If you dont get a share of the loot there is no point for doin raids..... for me.

Sieges yes they can be fun if you have a PvP class you can play if not its just stupid you will act as cannon fodder and only loose exp. Beside that you will be always disadvanced because you cant earn that much money big clan make with raiding, with clanhall or castle. So your equip will be always less good then from the big rich clans.

As for the recruiting im tired of it. Sure i do sometimes but to find good ppl is so hard. Most new ones are alts that just dont play till 40 or the others are on trials and choose not to play much longer not to mention equipment scammers.
Even if some ppl stay longer most of em want help with equip after they got they leave sooner or later.

Also suggestions join some other big clan when u hit A grade wont help smaller clans aswell. If ppl dont stay the small clan cant become bigger.

I would say yes if it were the same 10 people at all times, no if the grouping of 10 people changed constantly. Because then you would have enough different experiences from the different people to constitute the feel of a large clan even if not so many are on at the time.
sad part is NA/Euro is more small clans then large clans but ncsoft keeps trying to push us to make large clans which just doesn't fit most of our playstyles.

Fortresses were orginally suppose to be for small clans now in the CT1 updates coming out they change that to be made for large alliances to take not small clans.
Who said they're changing them in anyway? Afterall they haven't become activated. I've seen no sign that says they're going to be pro-big alliance now
When the orginal preview was release for CT they said they wanted to design fortresses for smaller clans to take and have a role in the politics of the server. Now that CT1 is coming out they revamped their thinking and now its an Alliance events taking fortresses.

I dont know 21 Large alliances on any server in NA i dont know more then 2 or 3 on any given server so yet again the Korean way of thinking is not working here in NA/Euro, we dont need 120 member clans 12 clan alliances were more built for NA then 120 member clans.

I have to agree with this. There are several good, strong alliances on our server but it seems to me that there are many more smaller clans.

It would have been nice to have the smaller clans have a bit more of a voice in the game.

Not to say that I am against large alliances. Not at all. But it just would have been nice to allow smaller groups to be able to help mold the world a little.

Actually I havent seen that from anyone on the Korean side of things. (Or the US TBH)

There have been two specific mentions of it that I've read.

One in MMORPG Mag basically saying that they (Fortresses) would provide a playing ground for all levels.

The other a blurb from the korean site saying they would be designed for two types, the PvE and the PvP, and that they would be avaliable for *all* clans to participate in, big and small.

Nothing was mentioned about large alliances or changing their thinking. Perhaps people are getting Nation Wars and Fortresses confused? They are entirely diffrent.
Fortresses are what nation wars are being focused on. Also castle sieges are designed for people of all levels remember that?

Source plix.

Considering its specifically said that they are entirely diffrent things, I'd love to see source. (Mine is the kammel page, korean site)
Mine is the translated version of the first video where they said nation wars would focus around fortresses
Kinda odd they'd contradict each other.

From what's been released, dosent even look like Nation Wars will be in the first update at all.. (But Fortresses will..)

I'd bet just about any amount of adena that you'll see Fortresses designed for small, mid, and large scale clans with varied benefits in between as has already been said.

It fits in to the clan hall system, it fits in to the castle system, it fits into the entire game system. Castles and Clan halls have grades among them, with lower being more for lower clans and it usually works out that way. (Or when have you seen a top powerhouse alliance owning Gludio for example, its often the lower alliances)
m a leader of a small clan BlueFrance on Bartz, i agree with u all, but have some problem, in small clan more friendship, more funny (maybe) but i've seen not bad the scamer use this good thing to leech many ppl. I've 2 friend in small clan be scamed by some1 else in clan :-s
Well i don't know what server you play on but no lower clans own any castles in L2 on devianne. Castles are to show power a low small clan is not going to take a castle in l2, there been heros who took Gludio before i guess thats lower to you?

Not for nothing at one point about a month ago 1 clan not even an alliance controlled 7 of the 9 castles just to see if they could. Clans take castles with alt clans just to keep control of them.

One party of heros can wipe out a whole alliance in l2 with no heros. Heros unbalanced a lot of things in l2.

;)
On Kain I am currently in a small clan, Delusion. I started in L2 with a clan that failed because the leader stopped playing. Then I got into a smaller clan that eventually grew and we got to experience upper-mid level content. Eventually this clan fell apart for many reasons, but all the members were happy to be apart of it. Joining a small clan that eventually can grow can be painful, but at the same time a great learning experience in itself. You know everyone, and just seems like a better way to play.

Joining a large clan definately has it's advantages though. If you want lots of pvp large clans usually have that, if you want to do raid bosses such as Antharas large clans also do that. They also have perks such as clan halls and castles/sieges.

When I joined my big first and already established clan, I liked the perks but I noticed that once a clan gets lots of members people already have their "cliques" which can make it hard to fit in.

If I still had my choice and if L2 was still in it's golden years with fresh supplies of players everyday I would join a small promising clan that will most likely create a future for itself.

The thing that is getting to me about L2 is, more and more people are now going over to the larger side because of these perks and wanted to experience the rest of a game with a dwindling population. Because of this the servers are becoming very one sided. Good pvp is becoming rare because the large clans keep a lid on the smaller-medium ones so competition
is disappearing. Before the smaller clans can organize into something promising they get beaten down and so their morale drops causing them to most likely join the clan that beat them down so that they can experience the 'fun' parts.

All I can say is, yes small clans make the game better. I just wish the game was better for small clans.

I think your confusing what a small clan is and what a low level clan is.

Just because your small dosent mean your low level. Just because your small dosent mean you cant have hero's either if you prepared. AQ isnt exactly a hard ring to farm from a PvE standpoint. (PvP is another, but with the variable epic spawn rate, you do have a chance)

There are clans on Bartz that own castles without a Alliance, as well as on other servers. Also clans that hold castles without a single Hero, with very few nobles even.

Happens all the time, look around :)
