Curious, where can I get info on the races? I mean, detailed info...how long they live, more history, etc. I'm writing a story and I'm not sure how long elves can live to be on average and other things of that nature... :(
According to some of the NPC dialogue from quests in/around Light Elf Village and elsewhere, the Light Elves are effectively immortal. They can be killed by disease or violence, but otherwise simply stop aging at a certain point. This is due to an effect of the Mother Tree and a sacred fruit the elves eat.
It is not known how long Dark Elves live, though some Dark Elf NPCs state that they remember the days when the two races lived as one, which would put those individuals at somewhere around 2-3000 years old (based on the timeline). What is known, however, is that the Dark Elves have lost the immortality of the Light Elves, being cut off from the Mother Tree as they are.
I believe there is a dwarf in either Gludin or the Dwarf Village that comments on being some 500 years old and implies that he's middle-aged, though I don't remember the exact quote.
I don't recall the DE's saying anything about their age but we recently redid all the DE town quests with dialog, there's a lot of lore there, like how the swampland is the graveyard of "tree elves".
The tetrarch in DEV mentions that he's one of those who led the dark elves away from the light elves and their persecution. That puts him in the thousands.
