I'm totally jealous of the Koreans when it comes to this game :mad: They have better support AND a prettier site. Now, I know we're going through some rough times, so I'll excuse support, for now. But our website, it bothers me. The koreans have all this flashy ... flash, and we've got this lame boring layout, they've got the preview site, we've got... nothing. So please NCNA, take a look at the korean site and look at a prime example of what ours should look like. Thank you :cool:
When I first opened it, I was ready to flame the hell out of him for bringing up yet another thread about updating the site.
Then I realized he was talking about the actual design and interface, and not so much the content (like everyone else and their mother's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate).
its still not something that can be accomplished in a day.
need a CM and web staff. since this involves redesign, it needs higher-up approval. then implementation. implementation includes downtime.
redesigning involves rehashing existing DB's. do you really want another forum hashed out just because the current one isnt as new and shiney as before?
The fact is without an up to date main site how do they ever plan on getting new people to come to the game. Truthfully would you go to a game thats main site was a year outdated???
And they are going to these conventions to show off their offerings but unless you are in Korea you are confronted with an outdated site. Yes the design isn't flashy but it does not need to be It just needs to be up to date. The site is very well layed out and the simplicity of it makes it great. It is a lot better to be able to find what you want fast, than to have all that flash confusing the fact that there is good info there.
Until they decide to update their site as the new expansions comes out there will be few new people coming to the game. Which makes long term playability of it go down hill as time goes on.
I'm not saying that the forum needs to be updated, this simple format of it is just fine.
And jkoster is right, I admit that there are content issues, but they're not that bad, it can wait till throne 1. However I think a redesign will help the game a lot. Despite what they say about books and covers, the first impression is always determined by how something looks.
When I first discovered L2, I wasn't very interested in it just because of the look of the site. It wasn't until I actually did some reading in school on a spare that I became interested in the game. So I think maybe redesigning the site would actually help them attract new players, that and actually advertising would help too, but that's for another day.
I understand that it can't be done over night, and I don't expect it to be, but maybe when they bring in Throne 1 they could redesign the site and we'll see what happens.

I agree with this 100%. I really dislike all the flash the Koreans have put on their site. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, maybe it's partly because I can't read Korean, but I find it really hard on the eyes. I like it simple and well designed.
