Holy Weapon

I am playing a Elven Oracle as my second main and I wanna go play here along with my Phantom Ranger, but I don't know if the buff Holy Weapon will give effect on my PR.

The buff text is;

A temporary holy enhancement of a physical attack. Can be used on one's party members.

Does the Physical Attack includes using a bow, is a bow always considered a remote attack like Vampric Rage (SO/SE buff) does?
Works with bows, doesnt matter if ranged or close attack. The reason why VR doesnt work with ranged or magic attacks is that they do too much damage.
Nice. I wasn't really sure about it. Another question about Holy Weapon... the holy enhancement does that add more dmg when I am dealing with undead creatures?
Yub, just the undead.
And if u deal with Monsters that have a Sacred/Holy Weakpoint.
seems to do bit more dmg to demon mobs too =)

Be aware though it doesnt work on Divine mobs, like Angels and the ones in the Catas - Nephilim i think there called. You do way less damage if you have Holy Weapon On when your fighting them.
So with Holy Weapon buffed I do more damage on Undead any Dark-type mobs but less damage on Light/Angel/Divine mobs.
Yes.
To be more precise - you do more damage on mobs that have a Weak Point: Sacred Attack (looks a little like a flash of light), and you do less to those with Weak Point: Dark Attack.

.... and greater resist sacred attack ;)

PS: only divine mobs at WoA have that and it mean's that you'll do 1/4 of the normal dmg w/ holy weapon to them

MOS Anyone?

Yup thats where we were fighting and we had holy weapon on and we were saying "Why is it taking so [censored] long to kill these mobs" and then we realized we had that buff on, and we proceeded to kick oursleves.

Angels in TOI and MOS have the same thing if im not mistaken.
afaik angels at toi don't have any sacred resist but it's true mobs at mos have the skill 'sacred attacks' (= attacks are sacred and mobs is resist to it)
angels at woa have actually the same but split in two separate skills ('sacred attack' + 'greater sacred resist')
how does holy wep work really? is it as simple as holy attack or not holy attack or are there different lvls of holyness?
I know holy wepon only have 1 lvl but does it stack with the dance or song whatver and maybe the tk skills?
yes they all stack dance songs buffs and pally and TK little skill
Actually we tested it once it doesn't stack with the dance for sure. All it does is add the holy property to your weapon. It does not add damage. The holy property then effects monsters based on if they are weak, strong, or no effect against holy attacks.

Some monsters that have weakness and you will do more damage on are undead and most demonic monsters.

Some monsters that have protection and you will do less damage on are the angels in wall of argos and some angel/divine mobs. Look in their little drop down box to confirm this.

The buff does not go higher then level 1 and does not effect monsters with out any weakness or strength for holy attacks. You will do normal damage on those monsters.
Actually, the buffs stack, but not the effects because if you are holy you cant be "even more holy". So HW + Dance of Light are just one wasted buffslot. All these buffs do is give your attacks the Holy attribute. Mobs that are weak to this will get more damage, mobs that are resist will get lesser damage and mobs without any holy weak/resist spot will get the same damage as without. Think of it as you put an arrow on fire and shot at a target made of stone, a target made of wood or a target made of flesh (a arrow in the head is deadly, no matter if it burns or not).
Exactly. The "sacred attack" property is just a switch, it is either on or off. So if you use holy weapon, dance of light, TK holy attack toggle and so on, you can have them all active at the same time - but all they do is set "sacred attack" to "on", nothing else. It is just a waste of buff slots because you have several buffs which do exactly the same, and one of them would have been enough to get the same effect. Sacred attack does not do more damage by itself, it just makes the game consider your physical attacks as "sacred" - and what exactly that does depends on what mob you are fighting (or what resist buffs your enemy has up, you do less damage when your enemy has holy resistance up).
On another note, and only a little off topic, why is it that the SE doens't have a buff called "Un-Holy Weapon"?
Cause NCSoft hate SE's :p

Well seriously I wouldn't be suprised if they added one in one of the next chronicles, the buff already exist but only in form of crystals which drops in pagan temple.

On another note, and only a little off topic, why is it that the SE doens't have a buff called "Un-Holy Weapon"?

I suggested exactly that on these boards not long ago ^^
and like lofl said, they exist in forms of those crystals but its in pagans.. not everyone can get their hands on 'em :/

Oh yeah a slightly off topic question but somewhat related. Have anyone tried using crystal AND holy weapon? and if so, did your dmg increase on both holy weak and dark attack weak mobs?
I thinks its when they are holy weak, they are dark resist. My best guess whould be if ya got HW + UnHW you do normal damage, but I got the feeling that your damage would decrease.
My guess is they replace each other, just like greater might/greater shield. You cannot have both at the same time.
