PL: Stats that are good enough to make it **** despite how ugly it is.
Drake/Theca: Good defense. Drake is preferable by a slight margin, but doesn't look as nice as theca (IMHO).
Rind Leather: The fashion [censored] set. I'd do this one if your HE is a girl, just because it looks so good. :)
I just wondered because I´ve never seen an Apella armor on Franz and at the official side here under "equipment" it is not listed too.

This site is not currently up to date - apella is acquired using clan reputation points, which most clans need to buy their skills and levels, and which are therefore quite valueable.
You can purchase it in Rune among other places, but you will see that the cost is staggering at best.

It doesnt have the best Stats either, for PVE or PVP. It doesnt have any Stun/Root/Hold/Poison/Bleed Resists. I've only seen 1 person wear the Light Set it on my server. The Robe has no cast Spd increase, so thats why no casters wear it.
And it costs a piss pot of clan Rep points to get a single suit of the stuff, thats why pretty much no ones uses it. (it costs 21,630 Rep points to get the full set, according to Stratics - its costs 20K to take the Clan to Lvl 7, so yeah it costs a tonne) http://lineage2.stratics.com/content/features/apella/
And the P Def on the Apella Heavy is 439 and on the P Def is 464 on Maj/NM Heavy.
The heavy set might be pretty sweet if the debuff works in PvE, and the robe set for summoners as a replacement of LA... but I'm not sure if that's the case. x.x
