Necro A-grade gear

Well, necro is slowly moving towards A-grade. :)

So the question is... what would suit him better, for robes and weapon? Bear in mind that I'd like some acumen effect on things.

I've heard many talk about Sword of Miracles and some talk about Majestic robes.

But others told me to get a flaming skull or something...

For the time being my necro wears Avadon and is equipped with a +9Homu Acumen with augment (+28mp and 8more crit).

Any suggestions?
DC and a SOM with Acumen.. easy choice :D
DC and SOM with acumen.
DC Robes and either SOM w/ acu or Flaming Dragon Skull /acu. The FDS and SOM are the same Matk, its just that the FDS is a one handed blunt, so is more flexible, but usually they are a little more expensive. So just get whichever one you can the best price on.
Necros don't need FDS though. Unless they are subbing a WC. Otherwise... go for the cheap som. But yeah.. lame as it is... all mages must go the way of DC Robe set. Nothing else can compete.
Yeah, DC robes and either SoM or FDS are pretty much the only good choices for a necro. There are other options that also work, but not as well.
First of all, ty to all who take some time to answer this.

I just want to clarify some things.

For the weapon, necro will go for the cheaper example between the two, as they seem identical.

For the robe though, when you say dc, you must mean dark crystal one piece robe, right?

If that's correct, then here are the stats of DC and Majestic one piece robes for comparison.

MAJESTIC ROBE
P. Def.
147
Weight
2330
MP Bonus
718

Upper and lower body armor. Produces the following effects when worn with majestic circlet, majestic gloves and majestic boots (robe): MP +240, Casting Spd. +15%, MP Regeneration +8%, Stun Resistance +50%, MEN +1, and INT -1.

DARK CRYSTAL ROBE
P. Def.
139
Weight
2450
MP Bonus
665

Upper and lower body armor. Produces the following effects when worn with a dark crystal helmet, dark crystal gloves and dark crystal boots (robe): P. Def. +8%, Casting Spd. +15%, Speed +7, small decrease in chance of spell interruption, Paralysis Resistance +50%, WIT +2, and MEN -2.

Checking the stats though, the pdef of Majestic one piece is much higher -and the same goes for its MP bonus. Majestic also gives an additional MP gain of +240 and better MP regen.

On the other hand the DC robe gives WIT +2, and MEN -2 which sounds better than the MEN +1, and INT -1 of the Majestic one. And also the +7 increase in speed sounds fun 4 slow-moving necros. Paralysis resistance eh? Well, don't you get stunned more than paralysed though? Hmm.

So, all are in favour of DC set? :p
You may have missed the fact that DC gives a +8% Pdef which evens out (or maybe exceeds) the MJ Pdef. Necros are considered a great PvP class and DC is robes are considered the best PvP set for mages (due to increased Pdef and running speed). MJ's advantages of MP bonus is of little meaning for a Necro (more useful to buffers), only it's stun resistance bonus is what makes it important. But still most prefer DC. As for weapon, if money is an issue, you can start with a spiritual eye (it takes accumen SA) and when you have more money you can move to SOM (identical to FDS but cheaper).

In fact, +8% Pdef on a DC set gives more PDef than increased base PDef on a Majestic.
I did choose DC robes because of this "small decrease in chance of spell interruption" and because i could get all needed items for craft by spoil/ drop with my BH. Spellhowlers get to often interrupted.
Also note that faster cast speed out of +2 WIT extra means more and faster BtM, means more MP regeneration.

Max MP pool is not as important unless you're relying heavily on herbs, and a conversion weapon might serve you better in that case.
No nuker belongs in a set that takes away from INT either. Healers don't care about that, hence why maj is a healer set. (I personally have both sets)
Ty to all once more. You've been more than kind. :-)

Now time to play the market, make adena, grind, grind, grind, sell old equipment, gather savings, grind more, play market, prey for high lf stone drops, prey in general, grind, grind, beg, steal, add adena, grind, finally get desired sum, spend, get armed, grind, grind, get desired amount, get dressed, grind, prey for malfunctioning bots that leave a trail of adena behind, not picking them up, grind, get jewels, live happily ever after. :)
.. I'd like to add one positive side note - grind, collect, pray and then fail your recipes "_"
DC Has the best set bonus.

-1 INT is nothing to be sad about.

Nightmare looks the best.

Tallum is useless.
Tallum is for buffer/healer classes.
Tallum is the poor man's DC. Atleast for SHs.. where the -2 int is barely noticeable... where the +2 wit more than compensates. I have both now... and I would never swap one for the other... but the fact remains... it did me better than Avadon when I did actually use it on a SH~
Yes +8% P def in robes and a bit more runspeed is really something to chose a set for...*sigh*
Orvieta.

It's +8% P.Def, Run Speed, Decrease in Spell Cancellation, and more cast speed.

Please compare set bonuses.

More Cast Speed
More P.Def
More Run Speed
Built In Concentration Effect (Small, but there nonetheless).

The only really good thing Magestic has going for it (and it's a really good thing) is that the Stun Resist on the robe is probably more useful than DC's Paralysis resist (at least in my experience), and it has some MP on it. The -1 INT is barely noticeable (though a 75 Sorc with Tallum Robe Set told me he lost about 200 M.Atk with it on instead of DC).

Other than that, DC FTW!

Tallum looks like a D grade robe set :(

and INT -1.

thats why nukers dont go maj ... less matk = less damage

Tallum is the poor man's DC.

and yeah ... if your fighting vs nukers and your something like a healer class .. i would much rather have that +8% mdef from the tallum than some para resistance .... the cast speed gains from the sets are the same aswell,
