I wonder what toon and weapon would be most efficient using SS or SpS? Meaning it uses least money for SS. I would also like to know how weapons compare when using SS: Dagger vs Sword vs Duals vs Blunt...
best adena per ss used is ALWAYS going to be a polearm. it isnt possible to beat using 3 or 1 SS (grade dependant) to hit several mobs in 1 swing. toons to match that would be warlord/destroyer/dwarfs. (those with the masteries) From those 3, the most efficient, IMO, is the destroyer (frenzied polearm use means you can clear out 1-2 large rooms of mobs in under 10 seconds)
Base weapon stats, well.... that depends partially on what you have masteries for. otherwise its a combonation of the set patk, the attack speed and the base crit rate (and the SA mofidiers)
SH isnt your best aoe nuker, sorc is. pure dps wise...I'm not sure (havent had any coffee yet.... **** mornings...) but, a polearm can pull and kill the mobs w/ just buffs/heals (vr mainly) while no robe wearer can hold aggro with the same number of mobs and not die. so for a mage to aoe requires several other classes. there is also the skilll reset time of the aoe skills that can be a factor. having never played a nuker main, I am not sure how much it interferes with aoe. (and those nukes could pull hate off the mobs and again end up with dead robe wearer...)
As far as arcane AoE damage goes - Spellsingers get two chainable AoE nukes, just like the sorcerer (frost wall and aqua splash to blazing circle and rain of fire), but their unique nuke (Frost Wall) has a higher power rating than blazing circle, almost compensating for their lower INT.
In short, you'd want the sorcerer for low HP multiplicity mobs or groups with many DDs (FLab, half HP AoE), and the SpS if you expect to be nuking things for quite a while (catacomb, DVC, ToI etc).
:p I did say so. It's just that IF you wanted a mage, then you'd want a SpS or a sorc.
And of course trying to make money with useless mew/sil/mirage is like shooting yourself in the foot. No matter how low the consumable cost may be, it is not worth doing.

For making money, I'd add manoring to that. :)
Why is it useless, BTW? The OP didn't specify anything about levelling speed, after all.
Because you'll make more money per time after consumables with another method, for example, the second servitors (Shadow/Kat/Boxer), poling, etc. You can worry about money per level all you like, but if you come to a point where you are too high level for your fortune, it is still better to have levelled fast and either alt or delevel.
